Politics as usual...

...and Secretary McCord made my day when she said "democracy is flawed." And how she travelled 8000 miles from D.C. to Philippines to make Philippines' president release the USA's war dead... to the smiling with the weak president of Philippines who was holding her fallen heroes and secretly begging for foreign aid. Thumps up to M'Sec show. She doesn't disappoint. Lest I forget to add, the white blouse and black pants, are they uniforms for the Secretary of State?

Madam Secretary conveniently forgot a historical fact

Warning: Spoilers
Madam Secretary is one of my fave shows. While catching up and watching season 5 episode 4, I noticed something that bothered me. Short story is the remains of several Americans who died in WW2 were found using current technology, but the fictitious Philippine government wont release them unless the States gives millions of dollars worth of military support. The Philippine ambassador was called in to see the Secretary of State. Unlike a number of Filipinos, I was never offended when the episode involving the "fictitious" Filipino President came out. This was when the Secretary punched him in the face. Same with this episode. But when she was berating the Philippine Ambassador about the debt my country owed to the US on the 15000 American lives lost defending the Philippines during WW2, they somewhat forgot that during that time, the Philippines was a colony of the United States. Not a territory, as is the politically correct term for areas governed by the US, but a colony. It was the duty of the US to defend our islands as it was technically part of the USA. Though I am grateful for the sacrifice made by many Americans, let us also not forget that one million Filipinos died fighting for the freedom of our land which was under the flag of the United States. Oh, and that sign in the gym scene "Suntukan parang langit pagsasanay parang impyerno"..(Literally fighting is like heavenbut training is like hell) That's not how we construct our sentences. The show is failing to be accurate.

This is somewhat petty, but who dresses Tea Leone?? I suspect a teenager? In every episode this year, Elizabeth has on a white blouse... and a black bra. No classy woman of her age would dress like that! Things like this interfere with the seriousness of what has been an excellent show.
