Michael Dorn must have owed someone a favour
markwha18 March 2023
So I watched this movie on a streaming service that I rarely use which links review scores from multiple websites to online in the details. The scores on these sites were obviously forged in some way because they were really high - it was a few minutes into the film when I began to notice that virtually all the acting was terrible and then we were introduced to Michael Dorn's character. I actually didn't recognize him at first since he's mostly done voice work for animated projects abd video games since playing the iconic Whorf from Star Trek. I thought to myself "why is this guy here, he's actually delivering the only convincing performance"?

So then I picked up my phone and ventured here to IMdB and realized who he was. All I can say is that he must have owed a friend a favour because he's so overqualified for this project I can't imagine what else would have drawn him to it unless he's managed to somehow go broke over the years and is in desperate need of money.

Aside from Dorn, this film offers nothing else. There's no action, now plausible drama, no gore, no horror no suspense, no nudity no comedy and it's basically a bunch of people playing alien laser tag with someone who has mild super powers.

Michael Dorn! Not a great movie.
thejdrage6 June 2022
This is a movie to watch when you are in the mood for something that really doesn't make a lot of sense all the time. The CGI isn't as bad as some reviewers claim, but it isn't great either.

I was so excited to see Michael Dorn! And then I wasn't. Either he has family involved in this movie, or he needed to money. Let's just say, it's not his best work.

The story is complicated and twisted. Who is doing what to whom is confusing. It's also very preachy. Plus, Jim (Derek Ting) wears his hat EVERYWHERE! What was it with that hat?! The few times he wasn't wearing one, it's obvious he isn't wearing it to cover up a bad hairline.

I have no idea what the story was about. Maybe it's because it didn't really hold my attention - nor did the hat. And I wandered off a time or two, but I blame the director for that. It was up to him to make a movie that kept me riveted in my seat - not wondering if I needed to do the dishes now.... or later.

Billy (Kayla Ewell) - is worth the whole watch. She is fantastic! Her comic timing is brilliant! I look forward to seeing her in the near future.

I can't recommend this movie. Or keep it on as background noise while you do the dishes. I gave it 4 stars because you HAVE to give a star to Michael Dorn no matter what AND one for Kayla Ewell.

CRAZY FAKE RATINGS
aznidentity5 February 2021
I know this filmmaker is associated with making bad films, so I was already suspicious of the ratings. I watched this film anyways since it's part of my job, and it was not what I expected. It was worse.

This is just not a very good movie. It's insane how many fake ratings there are for this film. The vote inflation is obvious to anyone with half a brain. It's safe to say that this film is an embarrassment for all involved.

Truly Awful
OldFilmGuy22 January 2021
A friend had access and I got a chance to watch this film disaster. This won't be good for the cast, or investors. Glancing through this actor-filmmaker's background and he has a history of making failed vanity films and pumping them up with fake ratings and reviews. I watched this for free and I still want my money back!

An entertaining science fiction action film; NOPE, not a chance.
lenwenzellw24 January 2021
One review made this title sound like an entertaining science fiction action film; nothing could be further from the truth. From the start, with actors lost looks in facial expressions, and lack of emotion to ring true you can tell the actors knew this was a turkey. Films that lack heart seem to suck the life out of actors. It starts with cheesy special effects, and than goes into effects out of a second rate video game, and a story line that has no character backstory, which gives you no way to empathize, or or involve yourself with the characters or story. The action sequences, generally speaking are shot in low light setting that try to conceal their cheap nature. I could go on but there is no point in seeing this film unless perhaps you are a film maker studying what not to do. I believe that friends and cast members likely gave this every positive review. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss!!!

Ummm.... no
billyhoes23 January 2021
This is not the worst movie I've ever seen... but not for lack of trying. The dialogue is poor, the action scenes are often clunky, and I could not find myself caring about any of them... even Worf. I would advise a hard no on this one.

It's a revelation that it's that bad
TheTruthofItIs6 February 2021
"Agent Revelation", a sequel to 2017's "Agent", just reeks of Saturday afternoon B-movies from the past, in fact the VFX look like they're from the early '80s. The story is bad, the acting poor, the directing is nowhere - in fact, let's lay this travesty at the feet of actor/writer/director Derek Ting! You have to be at the top of your game to do all three for a film otherwise you end up with something you find in the bargain bin at Walmart for $1.99. The actresses that play "Billy" and "Dr Porter" are pretty attractive but that's not really appropriate for the characters, especially Billy who's military but looks like she's from a modelling shoot. There's all types of incongruencies throughout and Derek, as director, just whiffs on them. Another wasted attempt in the Covid-era.

Times are tough, save your money
chrismark-404276 February 2021
Even if I was rolling in cash, it's not worth the time. Sorry was that too harsh? Shame on me for being tricked.

I know they mean well and they're trying hard - but there's no reward for effort here. It's SO BAD. Maybe I'm missing something and it's bad on purpose? No way, that's giving them too much credit. Don't be fooled by the reviews. Look at the top reviewers and see their rating distribution. It's universally low.

Read a book. Or watch some brainless reality show. Both are better uses of your time.

As good as the first one
samueldtown28 January 2021
I see Derek Ting has stepped up his game and upped the ante in this second one. I like the whole build up of why the aliens have returned to earth and what can Jim Yung (the hero) do to protect human civilization. Exciting film, plenty of plot twists and for sure a film worth checking out

Agent II: Not a Revelation, but Worth a Look
EuroyTan28 January 2021
If you liked the first, then you'll like this latest instalment that builds on Agent I. As per a standard sequel (of an assumed trilogy), this is the second act of a three act structure over three movies.

It probably won't stick with you, but it's a step up from the last film, and it's worth your time if you're into B-movie sci-fi. It's also fun to see where our friends from Star Trek TNG and DS9 have ended up these days. The VFX is well spent for a lower budget sci-fi movie.

As far as indie sci-fi goes, it's great to see filmmakers still making the effort and getting a platform outside of the big studios to tell their stories. Kudos to Derek Ting for that. This is clearly all his story - and sure, people can always pick things apart - but I suggest leaving egos and expectations at the door, and just enjoy it as fun, breezy entertainment. Plus it's always great to support the indie filmmaker community.

I couldn't last 20 minutes.
fibulator77722 July 2021
It's so bad, I couldn't last 20 minutes.

The story seems to start in the middle, and jumps around haphazardly. After 20 minutes, I had no idea what the plot was, and couldn't tolerate the bad acting any more.

Fake Ratings-Buyer Beware
mikebodnar30 July 2022
I use to trust rotten tomatoes and flixster but this one movie will shatter everyone's beliefs on how the world of ratings can be bought. I've seen movies with a 1 score better than this. Is there anybody checking this stuff?

Horrible, waste of time. The best part of this movies experience for me was writing the review.

Just plain bad
rdamian196317 August 2021
This movie is weak even at its best. The acting is horrendous and the script is just downright awful. The storyline is a bit all over the place. This one should be a pass.

This lame movie is a hot mess inside a train wreck inside a dumpster fire. I was quite shocked how bad this film was. I was misled by the fake reviews and fake ratings. This unethical behavior & grift should be exposed.

Don't bother, uninteresting movie.
frank_kneepkens4 June 2021
After about 25 minutes I gave up watching this movie, not interesting at all, bad acting, no connection with the characters, typical for this kind of movies is you have completely no clue what's happening, even after 25 minutes I still had no clue. For me that 's the limit, then I quit, already.regretting losing 25 minutes of my life for nothing. What's so special about Jim? Why is he trained? It simply took too long for me to get involved into the story. I like SciFi, but not this kind of puzzles where only at the end you know what it is all about.

Amateur hour
nunobuy23 January 2023
I was duped into watching this movie on Tubi because it had a 97% approval rate from rotten tomatoes so I just rated rotten tomatoes at the same level as the peace Nobel commission. This movie is like a high school play. From the acting to the editing everything's wrong with this movie. - The dialog, special effects, cinematography, the baby-faced 'seasoned' soldiers that do nothing but training. They have no mission whatsoever. They wear empty-armored tactical vests while training with electric jolts. The robots (aptly named RUNTS) are always looking elsewhere. Everything in this movie is a cliché. You can see the so called twist from miles away. The idea was a good one but the execution is extremely bad!

No setup for the plot. Cheap special effects. No introduction of characters. Poor acting. I turned it off after wasting some time with it. Not worth watching.

It's all in the dust
kevinmercy26 October 2021
This is how you make a sci-fi action movie on a low budget. Great acting, fight scenes and the mysterious aliens coming back to earth was enough to keep me watching. The costume design and the editing could have been a little cleaner but considering the complexity of the storyline I would say this is an above average movie. Watch it on Prime if you got amazon!

Oh, this is something not good
opticuscro28 July 2022
The first thing to notice is that the sound effects are extremely poorly done, in fact there are no effects, it's as if it was recorded with a microphone from a mediocre mobile phone. The actors do their job very poorly, they act unnaturally and somehow unrelaxed, they are very stiff, everything is generic, very bad in that regard. The visual effects are also very bad, considering that this is a low-budget film, I didn't expect anything special, but again, even for a low-budget film, the visual effects and the panorama are the bottom of the bottom. The story is full of holes and poorly presented and kind of uninteresting. Two stars only because of the small dose of originality in the story that this movie has, otherwise it's zero!

80's made for TV
zoltok10 November 2021
This movie reminded me of a made for TV movie on network tv in the 80's . 90% of the movie is filmed at the local indoor paintball arena with early power rangers acting and special effects . Just not good in my humble opinion .

Abhorrent Revery
compugor4 January 2023
Ashamed to have actually watched this all the way through, only for the gratuitously tasty babes of whom there was insufficient revelation, and as a fan of Michael Dorn who played the character Worf in Star Trek the Next Generation, and he plays the same character in this pathetic movie except without the Klingon butt head and pompousness. Actually, his character in this was rather pompous as well, and the same scene.of martial arts yoga posturing from TNG is used here. Not sure where they got that lead actor from; maybe he was an extra from an old Godzilla movie lol. The acting all around, if you can call it that, was exceptionally pathetic. And the plot, effects and production values were extremely embarrassing.

Boring
intel_roy15 March 2022
It has potential but it felt so boring. Something is missing, not sure if it's the actors, the phasing, don't know. But story could have been told better. It lacks energy.

Avoid This And Do Not Encourage Filmmakers Like The Writer/Director/Star
pclr-9788917 April 2024
Imagine that you had no talent, lots of money, and lots of people who are afraid to tell you about your lack of talent. What would you do? Invest your money in something, an industry perhaps, maybe gold? Or would you prefer to burn your money while terrorizing the people who have humored your artistic ambitions for years? Normal people would do the former. Derek Ting did the latter. This movie starts off terrible, and it doesn't get better. It's awful in a way that calls attention to itself, makes you feel like it was put together by a trust fund kid, and it just...sucks. There's nothing good to say about it. Poor Michael Dorn.
