Fun stuff
judoka-1564917 February 2019
These kinds of faux documentaries are fun as heck. I enjoyed the journey, and the dude is certainly likable. I missed having his "wife" around as she was in the first one. Just time well spent, and a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Neat movie, but not real, just FYI
mjmiller-4536817 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm happy that the footage doesn't bounce around to the point of making you ill. Very entertaining. But I will say I'm sad it's not real. I had my suspicions at the end of the first movie, but the "old" lock box isn't buried deeply at all, not but maybe a foot, it shows no sign of rust, which the ground would have done to it after all these years, and then those teeth! Sadly, they were whiter than mine, with no sign of any age.

Why?
rtnightowl5 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Saw the first and second. Thought they were both good but why (for the second one) wouldn't you show footage of the record player floating through the air and getting plugged in....or the ball rolling through the basement to land by the man whole cover. These things make me wonder now 🤔

Just a sequel, and a bad one at that. The bigger budget didn't help.
S_Soma2 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
THE BLACKWELL GHOST 2 is, as you might guess, the sequel to THE BLACKWELL GHOST. And it couldn't be more of a sequel. It's literally the same song but just the 2nd verse.

As the movie itself states at the very beginning, if you HAVEN'T seen THE BLACKWELL GHOST then you should probably go watch it first since it sets up most of what you need to know to watch this movie in context. I've also written a review of that movie.

Unfortunately, like most sequels, it isn't nearly as good as the first movie in the franchise. The first movie put a great deal of effort into "shooting around" all of the limitations and issues of a nonexistent budget while still coming up with an engaging story that worked well for the situation and accommodated the budgetary limitations

THE BLACKWELL GHOST 2 is little more than a thinly veiled attempt to cash in on the surprisingly well-received first movie. The only thing that successfully carries over from the first movie is the "charming affability" of Turner Clay. And that can only go so far. Truthfully, this movie pretty much just features Turner and Turner and Turner. Even his wife of the first movie barely makes an appearance in this one.

While the original movie displayed a paucity of paranormal special-effects, THE BLACKWELL GHOST 2 goes over-the-top with them, probably with a budget permitted by the success of the first movie. Doors are opening and slamming shut, appliances are turning on, lights are flashing on and off, chairs and couches are falling over and sliding across the room and so on ad nauseum.

In short, THE BLACKWELL GHOST 2 is the same old thing as most other found footage horror pictures. Same structure, same effects, nothing new or interesting here. No deeper exploration of the folklore of the story.

Making the movie even a little bit WORSE was the inconsistency between Turner's authentic-feeling sense of terror displayed in the first movie with his calm acceptance of paranormal events going off all around him like landmines. In the first movie, finding a faucet running practically had Turner dropping a brick in his pants. In THIS movie, even couches going walk-about barely rates a lifted eyebrow. Really?

He even tops off this incongruousness by remarking about how much he considers the ghost of Ruth Blackwell to be his "friend". You know, the same Ruth Blackwell that murdered several children, diced them into mirepoix and dumped them in the well. Oh yeah, you know, she did some bad stuff and all that but still, after all, a good friend.

Even if you liked the first movie, as I did, I wouldn't recommend this picture. I mean, unless you especially like seeing furniture pulled around with fishing line. You don't learn anything new about the situation or Ruth Blackwell or the murdered children or anything else. The whole thing is clearly just a moneymaking vehicle for... Turner Clay. A disappointment, in my opinion.

Whelp I gave it a shot but found solid proof!
curiousrod19 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Kitchen scene, when the chairs moved the editing was good but you can't fix shadows. The chair shadows were never edited and are positioned where they landed not where they started. I had my suspicions after the first one but the second one was to rushed and not as much put into it plus plot holes like an ant hill. The teeth, the box, and randomly digging in peoples back yard without permission just a bit to much. Oh, and on a side note for those of you who have haunted houses please don't sell your home after it is on a documentary series of "haunted homes" you probably won't get it sold just FYI.

Zombie acting
forzarus3 March 2019
This movie could have been scary but the guy acting must have made one to many zombiemovies cause he acts like one. It takes him like 3-5 seconds to react when hearing noises and seeing things so we just dont know if he is even awake when theese things happen. Cool idea with a crappy perfomance and poor execution.

Real or not I dont care, super fun movie
Moviesnob41120 February 2019
I really enjoy his movies, whether it's real or not doesnt matter. If it's not real then he deserves an applause for special effects. I enjoy watching him, he seems fun. See the first movie first.

It's fake check the first movie
jc-174517 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is fake, and what makes it so bad is his lame attempt to get you to believe that it isn't. Want proof? Check the cast of the first movie, "Greg" is actually an accredited actor named Sonny who is in many many films. If that wasn't enough, this man finds "human" remains and doesn't notify the authorities? Whatever happened to them? A 92 year old woman who happens to watch his first movie is magically in the photo with Blackwell, sends him a mystery package but there is no recording of their conversation, he makes no attempt to show us she is a real person, it's just Nancy.

Let it be a fun docu-horror movie, trying to convince the audience it's real by showing the reviews of your first movie is weak, and puts a bad taste in your mouth. This movie is nowhere near as good as the first,

Misinformation!
ericajane-406957 November 2021
In the lost footage it shows the hospital where Ruth died. That is untrue, that hospital is actually about 2 hours outside of Lexington. I know this because I live about 15 mintues from said hospital!

Seriously??
skamt-ml8 January 2020
This isn't the worst faux documentary/mockumentary I've ever seen but it's definitely top 3. After seeing the first movie I hoped as is often is with these type of series that the second one would be better. Well it kinda is regarding the effects but the story is laughable, damn right stupid and poorly written. Even if the dude isn't winging it (which might be the case) it's close to sad. Realsing now that this movie keeps haunting me and wasting my time while I'm writing this I'll leave out all the details about how this movie sucks and simply say, stay away and don't waste your time!

The Blackwell Ghost 2 aka The Chronicles of Useless Bloke
kuampapwder23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The drawing he receives in the mail, which most would immediately recognize as a blueprint rendition of a building, baffles him as he explains in all seriousness how he originally thought it was an image of "somekind of a vacuum cleaner." He then proudly announces his grand discovery: an obvious X in one corner of the picture which Useless Bloke took "forever to see."

After an uneventful drive to the mysterious house, Useless Bloke brings forth a metal detector (to search for something that may well not be metal) and makes a song & dance of not being able to use it properly. When he finally finds the spot he proceeds to bludgeon the ground with a huge pickaxe, oblivious to the fact that the buried item may be fragile.

Thinks there might be a time machine inside the shoebox sized box that he digs up.

Has the foresight to mention how light may damage any unprocessed film, which may be inside the box. But leaves the light on while opening the box.

Preparations for ghost hunting consist of setting up a record player and putting a ball on a table. The self proclaimed "not genius who CAN count" then proceeds to chill out and hardly notices the audible banging.

Fret not for excitement is just round the corner: at 2:37 in the morning some chairs fall over. So riveting it prompts Useless Bloke to replay the recording as we once again watch the chairs uneventfully fall over. But the thrills are far from over as Useless Bloke discovers that the falling chairs can be heard on a recording device in an adjacent room. Cue several sound clips of - you guessed it- some chairs falling over.

Useless Bloke has riveting dreams of doors opening and shutting.

Ghostly activity in the kitchen passes Useless Bloke by while he just chills out on his laptop in the living room.

Furthermore, Useless Bloke looks like a (possibly) non gay version of Brian the Mailman.

fake
jtvviewerpublic4 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A few things. First the guy is a thief. He "stole" that dug up box and took it home. He flat out told his wife he didn't want him to know he had it. In case something valuable was in it he could rake it in. This guy is a thief. That box belonged to the property owner. Plus he never showed the entire contents or explained it. #fake

Secondly, did you notice before the ball moved and went downstairs that the basement door WAS cracked and not closed like he had done before bed? A simple string would have pulled it open. #fake. Look at the footage. The top of the door is clearly opened and then it is opened "by itself". # fake #laughable

This isn't a documentary. It's a hoax movie.

Totally got into it.
jknight-9290322 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
My wife rented these movies. I bounced in an out not really paying attention. Until #4...I think. Then I went to the internet and no record of any of the missing people or murderers. Then I started paying attention. All the police interactions felt scripted as well as phone calls with his wife. If you don't research they are intriguing. If you do Google stuff it will not be interesting. Sorry this review is for the series but I totally wanted to believe in everything. Before I knew I just had doubts but the film plays into that. One of my biggest doubts was the banging. How could anyone just sit there and tolerate that. It was loud and there is no way you could tolerate it. I'm just disappointed I ruined it for myself by looking it up.

Worse Than The First
dulcet-tones7 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Turner Clay, who I call and shall refer to as 'Documentary Man' from here on out, is back! See him get a mysterious package in the mail! See him talk about supposedly speaking for over an hour to the.lady who sent the package, 'Nancy', but somehow not manage to record any of the conversation even though he has a voice scrambler, but is happy to show her photo! See him have a difficult time figuring out the copy of the drawing in the package is a blueprint and something is possibly buried on the Blackwell property!

See DM go with his 'wife' Terri (actress not married to him to my knowledge) onto the property and have trouble figuring out how to use a metal detector! See him dig up property supposedly belonging to 'Joe', the homeowner (not; DM actually owns the house) and stealing it! See him find the box he dug up (no rust on a metal box) to be filled with mud and HUMAN TEETH!!!😱 See DM not recognize them to be teeth at first though I could tell immediately what they were and also note that they are VERY white, not aged in any way! See him keep the teeth and tell no one!

See DM get the sad news that the house is being sold and watch as he explains that 'Joe' agreed to let him stay in the house one more time for 3 nights while he is out of town! Watch as wooden chairs move and fall over with metallic sounds on hardwood floor! See a light go brighter and dimmer from someone out of sight clearly using a dimmer switch! See the tv go on and off by someone out of sight using a remote control!

See DM sleep on the couch and the ball he placed on the table again roll off (probably fishing line) and the basement door which clearly closed open (fishing line is great)! See DM get up to pee in the night and pay no attention to the missing ball or the fact that the basement door is open even though he walks right by both! Laugh at the over the top 'special effects' and the fact that he is completely clueless so if this haunting were real he'd be dead if something wanted him so!

Laugh at how he continues to claim all of this is 100% REAL even though these people don't actually exist! See him also claim he didn't film himself putting the pliers back in the 'well cover' in the first film because it was so heavy when it was on film that he closed the cover without putting the pliers back!

I will continue to watch these just to see what nonsense he continues to try to pull in the next ones. They're great for a laugh and the first one had some creepy effects even though they were 100% faked.

First, I love Turner Clay. He's so engaging and down to earth. And these (real or not) are a joy to watch. I'm kicking myself for not watching them sooner.

Genuinely terrifying
kymokeefe27 October 2021
I'm completely frozen in fear after watching this! No special effects needed, the moments of silence and stillness perfectly capture what it'd feel like being in his position! Can't wait to finish these movies. I'd definitely recommend for any paranormal film enthusiast.

Love his movies!
cgosvener11 October 2023
Love the journey the filmmaker takes you on. I enjoyed the 1st documentary Blackwell Ghost, I was waiting on part II. His movies have a genuine feel. Most paranormal shows feel fake, Hollywood.

His films feel like you are actually there, they catch it all, the story of the Blackwell Ghost is intriguing, very interesting. Love the story.

I'm not sure if the story is actually true or real, but the way this is filmed it is very creepy, interesting, definitely worth watching. I was waiting on part II, part I really left me with questions and curious.

Hope this filmaker finds another mysterious place to document. I will definitely be waiting for the next!
