The Fox, The Duck and the Beans

Warning: Spoilers
Good episode. Entertaining and believable, plus Jill Hennessy is always a positive add, in my view.

One glaring error by the writers. Or maybe just a ploy to generate internet buzz. During the voir dire, attorney Benny Colón poses a riddle about how to ferry a fox, a duck and bag of beans across a river, taking one at a time, without leaving the duck with the beans or the fox with the duck. Bull axes all of the prospective jurors who claim to know the answer, stating baldy "There is no answer." In fact, this is a well-known problem, with the following solution: 1. Ferry the duck alone, leaving the fox with the beans. Return empty. This leaves the duck on the far side and the fox with the beans on the near side. 2. Ferry the fox alone, return with the duck. This leaves the fox on the far side, duck in the ferry, and beans on the near side. 3. Leave the duck on the near side, and ferry the beans across. Return empty This leaves the fox and beans on the far side, and duck on the near side. 4. Pick up the duck, ferry it to the far side, and you're done. All three are now across, and the duck is never left with either beans or fox.
