Face Your Demons Already
ilklucg2348 May 2019
So... That tagline of this season was introduced pretty quickly.

Intruders threaten the safety of the spaceship. Clarke and Bellamy try to deal with the consequences of the eclipse. Octavia lashes out again.

This episode was extremely intense. There were so many great moments that I can't even list them and I am very excited to see where this is going.

That being said, the Clarke hate continues and so does my annoyance. Hence I keep this short so that I won't repeat myself.

Good second.

Episode 6.02 (4 out of 5 stars).

Another exciting episode that has Clarke, Bellamy, and Murphy trying to survive on the planet after they find out a mysterious secret about the planet. Which they have to battle their own demons to survive. While the people on the ship have to face against unexpected visitors which they are trying to handle each other. Exciting, fun, and action packed. It delivers the thrills while revealing some new story.

One of my favorite episodes of the entire series!

Warning: Spoilers
Season 6 continues with another amazing episode! The best part of 6x02 was hands down the acting. Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, & Richard Harmon absolutely killed it this episode!! Seeing Clarke & Bellamy struggle with going crazy was epic and what happened with Murphy was very intriguing. He seemingly wasn't affected by the toxins, but something bad happened to him afterwards.. As for the scenes up in space with Diyoza, Raven & Madi, them saving the day was badass and I'm hopeful that Octavia will overcome her inner demons soon. "Red Sun Rising" leaves off on two wicked cliffhangers, with Murphy's unknown fate and Clarke finding out from the children that Sanctum isn't actually their home!! One thing I've always loved about The 100 is how great it is at worldbuilding and Season 6 continues to excel at doing so! So excited to see what happens next.

Excellent & Promising Episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode had everything. It was so intense I would consider it as one of my best.

* Fear that some of our favourite heroes will die during the eclipse.

* The hijack was fun and Charmaine showed how badass is she. I am really curious to see her part during this season

* Socking ending.. Imagine you have left your planet and you are promised a new one in which you have deposited all your hopes.. All of them were just gone when the girl asked "Did you come here to bring us home?". I totally shuddered

* However the mystery of the storyline has not been unfolded yet. It is build up slowly and so interestingly. The season is very promising. Hope the rest of the episodes will follow up such. >The original habitats of the planet seem they are not affected from radioactivity, just like Clark. >They also haven't solved the eclipse issue.. so will everyone cooperate to find a solution? Is this the end?

Now yer talkin'. Warning: Spoilers
Now this is more like it! Intense, off the charts and massively mind messing. Really glad that Ivana Milicevic is still in the show -- loved her in Banshee. Her scenes in this episode really kicked the bar up. Excellent performances from everyone though -- even if I don't understand why Octavia has regressed from her enlightened and apologetic state at the end of the last episode in Season 5. Her pain was clear here though.

One of my favourite moments in this episode was between Diyoza and Madi. The character of Diyoza is such a powerhouse, such a seasoned warrior and commander, so blatantly the leader of the situation. But then Madi just swings into the scene (literally), so young, so calm, so seemingly inexperienced, and just casually and effortlessly kicks Diyoza back on her butt and out of command with her line, "I'm not talking to you.". Just beautiful! Please keep it up.

Great episode!! Season 6 is on fire

Warning: Spoilers
Literally everyone chose to attack each other but Clarke only wanted to attack herself. Then it hit me like yes I don't like everything she does but does any teenager do everything perfect? So I was like dang she's her own biggest judge. Overall in these early season six episodes, just enjoy exploring a whole new world. It takes a few episodes to find out what season six is all about, I truly loathe Abby at this point. She knows she's the reason Octavia is broken. She watched Octavia slowly die in the bunker, and is now watching her truly self destruct and has the gall to further demonize her. She let a child bear the weight of the world on her shoulders with no support, no where to run, no where to hide, while she herself hid behind drugs and Kane. She is truly the most heartless person around. Another brilliantly acted scene by Marie (Octavia). What i love about season 6 so far is that they gave the characters time to reflect on their past decisions, their consequences and how far they've come as a person since season 1. We never really had enough time to see the characters look back on their growth. There are a lot of callbacks to previous seasons, parallels and mentions of past events like Becca doing the tech for Eligius (6x01). Octavia still think that she is ok but no she isn't.

Octavia, she's really not well
Neptune1658 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I think it's more than just others thinking Octavia is a horrible/bad person. I think Octavia actually feels massive guilt and pain for the things she had to do the led to people's deaths. Whether it was justified or not. Octavia hates herself and thinks she's horrible and until she processes that and accepts the natural consequences and pain from her actions, she won't be able to move on. She needs to forgive herself so she can work on making amends and earning the trust and forgiveness of the people she loves. I hated her character last season, not because I didn't understand why she did the things she did, but because I understood those actions broke her as a person and makes her highly irrational. Abby is someone I tried to feel sympathy for, especially in regards to the drug addiction (which can get very tragic), but abuse is abuse. And to everyone hating on Clarke, she probably betrayed you guys because she sacrificed her life for them all and built a life with a daughter for five years only for her land to be invaded and she took the one chance she had to save it all. I feel so bad for Octavia because her whole life story is just so sad. I just want her to be happy. Tbh, I think Abby is sociapathic. She doesn't really care about anyone except Kane and Clarke, and those that has a use to her. She doesn't really didn't care about her part in everything and has no problem putting all the blame on Octavia.

Good but

Warning: Spoilers
I can't understand how ppl can only blame Octavia while Clarke, Abby for ex , get a free pass... Clarke is too selfish, Abby is suddenly becoming a hero again ? And Octavia is the one and only bad girl in the story? Makes NO sense whatsoever... Too bad...

Power changes people. All. People.
lirmihn3 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
9 for the story line & new world.

6.5 for the ham-handed dialog treatment: religiousity, us vs them ideology, & virgins coming of age, all devoid of polish & sophistication that equates to dumbing down the script. I like the story & actors, so I press on with the series.

So, respectfully, to all the Clarke/Octavia/Abby/add your hated character here haters, there are disposable villains, intrinsic villains we love, & primary characters who deal with the hero's journey that often results in some degree of corruption.

Philosophy AND Psych 301: leaders often buffer decisions with "We did what we had to." I don't particularly like some of Clarke's journey, but it was pretty real. And finding Maddy turned on Mama Bear hormones. Great ideals. Often disastrous results. Abby chose survival & ended up an addict; now she's clawing her way through bad decisions, horrid decisions, & behaviours while stoned. Results could be great or mediocre, depending on the writers.

O? Had to follow The Dictator's Handbook to bring her people through, not mature enough to realise what the road to hell looked like. Her truly horrific act for me? She torched the Farm. Dictators' Handbook. I have to hope she finds her way back, or she may be a casualty.

The lesson seems clear: Leaders (& everyone else) are doing what they "need" to. That has consequences for the soul, & if the hero doesn't re-assess, or has no chance to do so, they may find themselves the villain.

Revisionist history may amend that in real life. I suspect the box office & producers are more of an influence here.
