Not great
am-by27 October 2020
A movie with some very emotional moments and was full of good intentions. But it played more like an average tv series than a movie. Personally i didnt find the whacky doctor funny at all , more very irritating. As a script it probably looked good but definitely a tv movie rather than a cinema release. When you start thinking of how you'd review a film half way through you are being unfair but your also your bored.

Not a comedy, not a drama. Just a dud.

So many things were bad, with the acting, direction, and editing leading the list. The original music was good, however, even though it was misused. The staff meetings were simply stupid. This was a terribly misguided attempt to deal with a difficult subject.

The Elephant is real, but . . .

There's a lot of realism, sad and painful, but the parody is definitely overdone. Plus, I keep seeing Michael, N.P. as Ed Helms in "The Hangover" movies. So it's hard to consider this a serious movie. The acting is entirely novice. I watched til the end so I gave it a 4 star rating.

Really?

I stopped watching when THIS happened. A five-year-old boy dies of an aggressive cancer and they're all grieving at the nurses station. Not 10 seconds later they all start giggling because the NP is dressed in pajamas, as they all were, to celebrate the child's life. He then does a strip tease. WTH. Wrong on EVERY level. If this is how the medical profession handles grief they ALL need to see their own psychologists!!

Depressing

Not helpful. This could have been handled so much better. Depressing rather than providing a more insightful look at handling death and dying in the medical profession.

Both Good & Sad

This movie is both incredibly good and equally sad. Spoiler alert. t takes place in a hospital and the emotions are real and they are raw. Prepare to cry

My heart!

So hard to watch but so true about the loss and pain and beauty of cancer. It's such a touching tribute to the pain and triumph of patients. Such an important film!

Joy in the sadness
sheyennefrederickson14 December 2020
A beautiful story of pain, joy, sadness and love that we call humaness. It portrayed so well the unique merging relationship of patients and medical workers with their very distinct colliding struggles. The producer tactfully captured a true story you not only get to watch, but also feel a part of. The comedy isn't found in crude remarks or distasteful jesters but in the raw struggle of joy in the sadness.
