Perfection

With a few arrangements in plot this could've easily been the series finale. So unexpected, so dramatic, all the thrust that had been put since the fourth series premiere just had a perfect climax in this episode. Still don't know how everything will unravel in the last episode, but this one really left the stakes higher.

As explosive as it can get

Not sharing any spoilers, but this was truly the best episode of this season and one of the very best of the entire series. The entire plot of the series flows through this episode, it's all about alliance and self preservation with all that manipulation and politics. Who gets to be on the top, who wins the end game. You get the bits right at the end. However I'm still interested to know how the last episode may pan out, since the portal is the only thing which they haven't shown much about, alas that teaser at the beginning.

Warning: Spoilers
While I have to agree with some other reviewers that the ending of this episode was stretching credibility, Smith did foreshadow it with the comment that American troops would be loyal to their own leaders. It seems the German troops who took part in the bloodbath felt the same about their General. It wasn't that much of a stretch for me. So my main agreement is with those who feel this was the best episode of this season - at least so far. What I do find unbelievable is that the BCR appear not to be worried about the Germans invading after the Japanese left. How are they planning to "take down a second empire" or even combat the massive air attack the Germans were planning, not knowing what happened in Berlin? The Japanese were already leaning toward a withdrawal, which is what made the BCR's success a little easier than they expected. It will be interesting to see how they tie all this up with just one more episode.

Not sure why so many people like this episode

Warning: Spoilers
The whole finale season starts to go down from this episode. Last time when Smith triumphed in Berlin, the twist was surprising but totally plausible. This time Smith's victory comes out of no where. Himmler said before that if Helen became an obstacle for Smith he would get rid of her. But he didn't despite everyone in Berlin knows why she really left. He showed too much mercy to Smith, even after he learned about those proofs about Smith's disloyalties. If this was in previous seasons he would jump high and arrest Smith at once instead of giving him a chance to stay alone with him. And he didn't even notice the skull label on his oxygen tank. Why would the Germans entrust the nuclear weapons in hand of Americans in the first place? Why would someone in German be willing to work with Smith to kill all senior party members? These are all questions left unanswered. This is not a real twist as it lacks support.

What in the name of god...

Warning: Spoilers
It was really intresting to see, how the German Empire would have been, the structures, the schools, the ideologie and of course Hitlers succession. The first plot to kill Hitler was kinda ok. It was thought threw and had some logic involved, I would have been ok with such a coup. But what I just witnessed here, was absolutely sense and thoughtless ...so you wanna tell me, that some american leader, who is under high suspicion of beeing a traitor, is able to pull that off? In Germany? In Berlin? In the government? The highest security place in the entire world? With the utmost loyal SS Division guarding it? And some traiterous general helps him with his plan for NO actuial reason, apart from "U get America, I get the rest!" after we just slaughtered the entire leadership of germany? With some soldiers, that no one actually knows where they came from? So whats the plan now? Everybody else is just saying hmm, ye well ok he is the new leader!... This is so beyond any possible reality, that it hurts to watch this...its just like they wanted to force some American independence down our throats, while having no actual concept of archieving this... 2 Stars because the actors didnt play it as badly as it was written.
