"Mr. Fahrenheit the supersonic man" is shown in flashback as Red Death reminisces about the old days at the starstruck diner. Mr. Fahrenheit's giant toothed, dark haired, big jawed, mustached, five o'clock shadowed appearance is based on Freddie Mercury, who's song "Don't Stop Me Now" contains the line "...they call me Mr. Fahrenheit, I'm traveling at the speed of light. I wanna make a supersonic man outta you."
The address shown in the end credits scene - 60 Rivington Street, New York - is an actual address on the Lower East Side of New York City. The illustration of the building is extremely accurate (the "Doctor Strange window" is called an oculus). The building functioned as a synagogue from 1904 until the 1970s.
Dr. Z's "lost weekend" shares similarities to John Lennon's "lost weekend" that lasted 18 months. During that time he was separated from Yoko Ono. He spent time with Harry Nilsson (Scary Nilsson) and Phil Spector (Shrill Spector). Like Dr. Z, Lennon was known to enjoy the drink, Brandy Alexander.
The back of the magazine Laugh Riot is holding at the diner is an advertisement for the 1987 Stanza - the one pictured is powder blue, just like 24's
