Izahya Thomas, the 24-year-old social media chef from Miami, Florida was eliminated in fifth place on Thursday’s episode of “Next Level Chef.” The former college football player on Team Gordon Ramsay struggled in the Kombucha Kulture challenge, failing to grab enough ingredients for a Next Level dish. He landed in the elimination round against his teammate Jordan Torrey, where he was sent home in a unanimous vote. Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby above.
“Even though I got eliminated, it also [took] a whole bunch of weight off my shoulders,” Izahya admits. “I just wanted to inspire others. I felt like the viewers watching at home, just watching the journey throughout the whole competition, and in that moment me being eliminated, I know that the viewer at home was inspired and knew, ‘If he’s able to go after his dream so whole-heartedly, I can do it to.

Chris Tzorin, the 37-year-old professional chef from Orange County, California was eliminated in 10th place on Thursday’s episode of “Next Level Chef.” Despite Team Gordon Ramsay cooking in the top kitchen, Chris struggled to find the ingredients for a Next Level pizza and found himself up for elimination against Team Nyesha Arrington‘s Mada Abdelhamid. Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby above.
“O.M.G.!” Chis exclaims while recalling the excruciating pizza challenge. “I went in with full confidence, especially after the last two rounds. I was ready to go! Once I grabbed that dough, everything was going so quick, I think I was overconfident. Then Gordon Ramsay says, ‘Why did you grab biscuit dough?’ It threw me off. I have biscuit dough! I know you can’t make pizza with biscuit dough.”
Chris admits being Gordon’s top draft pick put a lot of pressure on him.

The Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl Lvii victory over the Philadelphia Eagles was watched by 113 million viewers, it has been announced.
The numbers make it the most-watched Super Bowl since 2017, a rarity in today's TV climate.
Viewers still tune into the broadcast and cable networks in their droves for sporting content because, well, who wants to watch those after the fact?
The buzz of watching and reacting to a big game in real-time is far more exciting than if you try to avoid the result.
Rihanna's excellent halftime show was also a solid option, raking in almost 119 million viewers.
And, even more impressive, it was the second most-watched halftime show in history.
The only higher-watched halftime show was Katy Perry's in 2015.
Instead of scheduling a drama after the big event, Fox went with the Season 2 premiere of Next Level Chef, which secured 15.5 million viewers.

Advertising isn’t a game for the people who run Twitch — but they are working to weave it more closely into the esports and other live-streamed programming beamed out by the Amazon-backed service every day.
Executives spent Monday evening making a pitch to advertisers that involves creating closer pairings between the people who create the content on the outlet and the brands that sponsor it. Twitch backs several live-streams, including owned-and-operated channels like Twitch Rivals and Twitch Sports as well as creator-led projects that can embrace advertising. Twitch also offers “Drops,” or in-game rewards offered to fans when they watch specific Twitch streams that can be backed by advertisers. Adobe tested the concept in March by sponsoring streams with six Twitch creators.
The company believes advertisers who want to reach younger consumers who may no longer watch TV in traditional fashion will be interested. Twitch’s base “is a younger audience,...

After an eight-year streak on the Culver City lot, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group chairman Tom Rothman will continue to lead the film studio, this time adding CEO to his title as the global media conglomerate has extended his contract. Rothman will continue to report to Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
Before the pandemic, rumors swirled about Rothman’s retirement, but that is certainly not happening. A proponent of protecting the theatrical window, he has amassed great global hits for Sony during his eight-year tenure including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home ($1.13 billion worldwide box office), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($962.5 million) and its sequel Next Level ($800M), and Venom ($854M), while turning adult contemporary movies like the Oscar-nominated Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Rothman lured Quentin Tarantino to the studio) and Little Women into worldwide event films with respective grosses of $374.5M and $216.6M.

Exclusive: Sony/Seven Bucks/Matt Tolmach Productions’ Jumanji: The Next Level is closing in on its predecessor, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. With a $548.8M worldwide gross through January 2, the Dwayne Johnson-starrer now counts $209.7M domestic and $339.1M from the international box office. The opening credits of Ilyssa Goodman’s “Next Level” are, perhaps, the most interesting thing about it. They begin with the credit for the producer — and when was the last time you saw that in a theater? — and then work their way backwards to the cast, crew and director, as if to say that the fact that this movie got made is, itself, the most noteworthy accomplishment of all.
