Sydney Sweeney gained fame for her roles in HBO’s Euphoria (2019–present) and The White Lotus (2021), earning two Primetime Emmy nominations. In 2023, she played Reality Winner in the film Reality and starred in the hit romantic comedy Anyone But You.
In 2024, she appeared in the superhero film Madame Web and both produced and starred in the horror movie Immaculate.
Madame Web was poorly received by critics and flopped at the box office, earning only $100.5 million worldwide against an $80 million budget. In contrast, Anyone But You grossed $120 million more than Madame Web.
According to THR, a source claims that Sydney Sweeney accepted a supporting role in Madame Web to help get Anyone But You greenlit. “She wanted to show she was committed to the team,” said the source from Sony Pictures. Despite Madame Web‘s poor performance, Sweeney still earned $750,000.

Sydney Sweeney gained wider recognition for her roles in the HBO drama series Euphoria (2019–present) and the first season of the anthology series The White Lotus (2021), which earned her nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards.
In 2023, she portrayed Reality Winner in the drama film Reality and led the commercially successful romantic comedy Anyone but You. In 2024, she starred in the superhero film Madame Web, and produced and starred in the horror film Immaculate.
Madame Web was panned by critics and was a box-office bomb, grossing $100.5 million worldwide against a production budget of $80 million. Anyone but You, on the contrary, ended up grossing $120M more than Madame Web.
THR reports that allegedly, one source says Sweeney agreed to take on a supporting role in Madame Web, a film in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, to help get Anyone but You approved.

One surprise hit movie can still supercharge an actor’s trajectory.
In December 2023, Sydney Sweeney starred with Glen Powell in Anyone But You, Sony Pictures’ romantic comedy that became an unabashed box office success, making $220 million on a budget of $25 million. Sweeney’s fee for the movie was $2 million for the film.
Less than a year later, in October, Sweeney nabbed a $7.5 million payday to star in The Housemaid, a Lionsgate thriller that will also star Amanda Seyfried and be directed by Paul Feig, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
It’s a notable jump that is not too common in modern Hollywood, where big hits tend to come from franchise plays and, A-list actors aside, pay jumps come in pre-negotiated increments. But Sweeney has become one of the most in-demand actresses, and has capitalized by lining up a savvy range of movies, including a boxing biopic and a Hollywood...

Tom Holland has been making headlines after the launch of his non-alcoholic beer. What he has done is revolutionize his own problems and grow from them, helping others who have also gone through the same. In the midst of it all, the actor caught the eye of the fans because of how protective he had been of his superstar girlfriend, Zendaya.

While he is seen in a positive light, standing as the knight in shining armor in front of the public, the same could not be said for a former One Direction member. Louis Tomlinson has come a long way since his days as a boyband singer, and not all of it has been a smooth ride. A kerfuffle with the paparazzi escalated so badly that there is no surprise it became infamously iconic.

Colman Domingo plays a media pundit who stumbles on a murder he fears he’s being framed for in the trailer for The Madness, the upcoming conspiracy thriller from Netflix, that dropped on Monday.
“I got a bull’s eye on my back,” a paranoid Domingo, in the role of Muncie Daniels, says at one point in the fast-paced teaser after he visits a murder scene deep in the woods of the Poconos and finds he’s the only witness to a crime.
As the walls close in and he fears a set-up to make him take the fall, Daniels strives to reconnect with his estranged family — and his lost ideals — in order to clear his name. The eight-episode thriller, with the Emmy winner in the starring role, is set to bow on Netflix Nov. 28.
The ensemble cast for The Madness includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski and Thaddeus J.

Colman Domingo just might be the most prolific man in Hollywood.
Just on the TV side alone, Domingo is currently in production on Netflix’s “The Four Seasons” reimagining, and now the trailer for his other Netflix series “The Madness” has been released. Domingo sure knows how to stay busy.
The actor plays Muncie Daniels, a political consultant-turned-tv pundit who takes a work sabbatical to write the next great American novel. While in the Poconos on his writing retreat, though, Muncie finds himself as the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he’s being framed for the crime.
Per the official synopsis, “Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he’ll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age.

Agatha All Along has been a pretty big success for Marvel so far (which is at least partially due to the fact that it's the least expensive Disney+ series yet), and it seems the studio is pleased enough with the show's viewership that plans are in place to continue these characters' journeys across several different projects.
Agatha - itself a spin-off of WandaVision - introduced a mysterious "Teen" (Joe Locke) who was recently confirmed to be Wanda Maximoff's (Elizabeth Olsen) son Billy Kaplan/Wiccan.
Now, Mttsh is reporting that a Wiccan solo show is in the works, which Marvel will develop along with the Scarlet Witch movie and a Young Avengers project (we still don't know if that'll be a movie or another Disney+ series).
Daniel Richtman recently claimed that a series focusing on the search for the Scarlet Witch's other son, Tommy Maximoff, aka Speed, was on the cards,...

The rise of Lance Oppenheim continues unabated: within 12 months of Spermworld and Ren Faire comes the news he’ll be directing Primetime, a feature backed by A24 and Robert Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo. Per sources (including some from which this writer’s heard directly), Ajon Singh’s script takes direct inspiration from NBC’s To Catch a Predator and its notorious host Chris Hansen; Deadline‘s article plays into that, noting rumors the film concerns “a journalist who takes on an underworld of crime and changes television forever.” Whether Pattinson also stars remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, Deadline also notes Colman Domingo will make his directorial debut with Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney playing none other than Kim Novak. The project, Scandalous, is scripted by Matthew Fantaci and concerns the fire-setting affair between Novak and Sammy Davis Jr. (David Jonsson). Colman Domingo is getting into the director’s chair for the first time for Scandalous. The movie will come from Miramax and has been fast-tracked to start production. Deadline is reporting that Domingo is planning to start filming after completing season 3 of Euphoria and he’ll be bringing along his co-star Sydney Sweeney along for the film. Sydney Sweeney is set to play legendary film star Kim Novak in Colman Domingo’s Sammy Davis Jr. biopic “Scandalous” at Miramax, according to an insider with knowledge of the project.
The project marks the “Rustin” Oscar nominee’s directorial debut and co-stars David Jonsson as the iconic entertainer. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the film centers on the scandalous and brief love affair between Novak and the Rat Packer, which took place in 1957. Matthew Fantaci wrote the script.
Principal photography on “Scandalous” will take place in Los Angeles after Sweeney and Domingo wrap the third season of HBO series “Euphoria.” Sweeney will produce the project along with Tani Cohen and Bobby Rock. Jon Levin is the executive producer.

Colman Domingo is set to make his feature directorial debut with “Scandalous,” a period drama about the 1950s romance between movie star Kim Novak and singer Sammy Davis Jr., and the bigoted scrutiny that the pair faced once their relationship came to light. Sydney Sweeney and David Jonsson are in talks to play the two leads.
Miramax is working to fast track the project, which remains in early stages of development. Producers have hopes to shoot next year after Domingo and Sweeney have finished filming the third season of HBO’s “Euphoria.”
As it went, Novak and Davis first connected when they both appeared as guests on “The Steve Allen Show” in 1956. The two continued to meet, with Davis making visits to the set of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” during the next year. They met again at a Thanksgiving charity ball in California, which led to the pair spending the holidays together.

Exclusive: Colman Domingo will make his directorial debut in Scandalous, a fast tracked Miramax drama about the clandestine love affair between film star Kim Novak and singer/dancer and film star Sammy Davis Jr. in 1957. Sydney Sweeney will play Novak, and David Jonsson will play Davis Jr.
Plan is to shoot the film — imagine a movie about classic Hollywood being shot in Los Angeles — when Domingo and Sweeney complete Season 3 of the HBO series Euphoria.
Much the way she did with the sleeper hit Anyone But You, Sweeney was very active in putting this one together and she will be a producer along with Tani Cohen and Bobby Roth, with Jon Levin exec producing. Matthew Fantaci wrote the script.

Now that we know "Call Me By Your Name" and "Challengers" director Luca Guadagnino is making his own version of "American Psycho" — one that's based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel, not the 2000 movie helmed by writer-director Mary Harron — the world is waiting to see who Guadagnino and his team choose to play this generation's Patrick Bateman. I'm eminently unqualified to make this decision — for one thing, I'm not a casting director, and also, nobody asked me — but I definitely have ideas.
Here's one: Guadagnino could gender-flip the role and cast Zendaya, his "Challengers" lead who proved, throughout the tennis drama, that she can definitely play an apex predator. If she's not available, Margaret Qualley could probably make a meal out of the role. If we're sticking with guys, there are some great options who have simply aged out of the role; Robert Pattinson and Penn Badgley could both bring something quite excellent to Patrick,...

5 Actors Who Can Play the Next Patrick Bateman in American Psycho Reboot - Main Image
American Psycho starring Christian Bale and directed by Mary Harron is turning 25 years old next year, and despite its status as a cult favorite, a remake is in the works with director Luca Guadagnino.
There hasn’t been much revealed about the remake yet, but fans online have already been pitching who they want to play a new generation’s version of psychopath Patrick Bateman. Bale was 26 when he played the role, and here’s a look at some eligible young talents who may be able to pull off their own version of an American sociopath.
Charles Melton
Tall, dark, and handsome, Melton is best known for playing Reggie in Riverdale, but he’s proven that he can play seductive and troubled thanks to last year’s May December.

Luca Guadagnino is set to direct a new interpretation of American Psycho for the big screen. Christian Bale’s 2000 adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ original novel was helmed by Mary Harron, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Guinevere Turner. Harron’s film is a cult hit and fans aren’t happy that Guadagnino is directing a “remake.”

However, Lionsgate has enlisted Scott Z. Burns to write the screenplay, which will stay close to the original material, unlike Harron’s film. Moreover, some fans are against the move, sharing that the success of Bale’s movie stemmed from the female vision behind it, namely Harron and Turner.

Ahead of the new season of HBO’s drama series Euphoria, Zendaya has confirmed the characters will be portrayed as high school graduates, a stark difference from the past two seasons.
The Emmy Award-winning actress appeared on Entertainment Weekly’s podcast, The Awardist, to discuss season 3 of the popular series.
“It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” she said of the season’s timeline shift.

While Zendaya did not share any details about the state of her character, Rue, in season 3, she did say the new installment will be exciting.
“I don’t actually know much about what is happening,” she admitted. “I don’t know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know the time jump is happening.

When a film or TV show straddles genres, deciding if you’re a comedy, drama, or musical is a question of strategy as much as it is a question of artistry, though there’s a risk of backlash if your categorization strains credulity. Is “The Bear” really a comedy, for instance? Was “The Martian”? This year “Challengers,” about a heated love triangle on the tennis court, is one such film making a play for comedy consideration at the Golden Globes. And judging from our racetrack odds, the strategy could pay off.
As of this writing “Challengers” ranks among the top six likely nominees for Best Film Comedy/Musical, getting 20/1 odds based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have been placing their bets here in our predictions center. Among those predicting that “Challengers” will be nominated for the top prize are five of the Expert journalists we’ve surveyed,...

Sydney Sweeney has become known for her bombshell looks and, despite Madame Web's failings earlier this year, hits like Anyone But You and Immaculate have made her one of Hollywood's most bankable young stars.
Now, Sweeney has showcased her physical transformation to play legendary boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming untitled biopic.
After paparazzi photos of the actor were circulated on social media, Sweeney took to Instagram (via TheRingReport.com) to confirm she's playing Martin in a movie being directed by David Michod.
For those of you who aren't aware, Martin competed between 1989 and 2012 and was crowned world champion in the super welterweight class in 2009. In 2010, the boxer was stabbed and shot her by husband, James Martin, but miraculously survived. He's now serving a 25-year prison sentence for attempted second-degree murder.

Earlier this year, we wrote about how Lionsgate wanted to mount a new version of "American Psycho," and now the studio has found its director: Luca Guadagnino, the director behind "Call Me By Your Name," "Challengers," and the 2018 remake of "Suspiria," who seems to be a perfect choice for this new take.
I say "new take" because there's an important distinction to be made here. Per the report in Deadline, Guadagnino is not remaking the 2000 movie written and directed by Mary Harron, which stars Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a Wall Street finance bro who also happens to be a vicious serial killer. Instead, Guadagnino is re-adapting the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which is a lot sicker and more twisted than the film.
There's very little information about this project other than the fact that it's in the works, but Guadagnino, who's currently promoting his latest film "Queer" — which...

Alex Wolff recognized himself in “The Line” — or rather, what any American man could be.
The actor leads writer/director Ethan Berger’s feature debut as a college scholarship student who tries to assimilate by joining a frat. The critically-acclaimed film is set in 2014 and spotlights an all-star cast including Austin Abrams, Lewis Pullman, Halle Bailey, Bo Mitchell, Denise Richards, John Malkovich, and Scoot McNairy. Late “Euphoria” star Angus Cloud, who died in 2023, also gives a standout performance in one of his final roles.
“The Line” subtly captures the racism, misogyny, and entitlement that are paramount to college Greek life. But the script, which is co-written by Alex Russek, most poignantly emphasizes the frat brother-on-brother violence of hazing that mirrors the evolutionary masculine animalistic need to exert power in any way possible.
According to Wolff, that abuse of privilege is what makes “The Line” even more harrowingly resonant during an election year: Yes,...

In the beauty of Sydney Sweeney, many forget the sheer amount of talent that the actress possesses. While works like Anyone But You and Madame Web did get the actress a lot of publicity, it would seem that she is going to force the world to see her talent. Recently, the actress has been spotted working on a project that could be good enough to earn her an Oscar nod.
