When the customer is waiting for three little packets of drugs to be sent to him through the downspout, the view is from the perspective of the first packet. It slides slowly, both visibly and audibly, many feet towards the waiting customer, moving essentially horizontally towards him. But from the outside, it is seen that the downspout is vertical, and has only about six inches of horizontal at the very bottom.
DDA Bill Oakley uses a vending machine to purchase a snack. When money is inserted and a selection made, the coil springs in the selected channel normally spin once to dispense the package at the front. It would be unwise to select a channel with no product at the front because you'll get nothing for your money, yet DDA Oakley does exactly that. The coil springs spin several times before his snack reaches the front. That would not happen unless Oakley inserted more money.
The episode is set in 2004, but one of the chip bags in the vending machines has a post-2008 Wal Mart logo on it.
