I was lucky enough to watch this gem a the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland Oregon. The Film won the Audience Award much to the crowds delight and the award was graciously accepted by MarkoKattilakoski and his partner Anna Persson.
The film is an adaption of the Music of Eric Zann and is refreshing in its approach.
The main character, John Low is a veteran of the first World War and is assumed to be a mute because of his injuries recieved during service. We find out that he is indeed injured, but that these injuries were incurred early in his youth. Now, as an adult, John makes his living finding missing persons, and retrieving lost possesions.
Cue the mysterious beautiful woman who works for the Miskatonic University and you have the beginning of a great Lovecraftian detective feature.
The pacing of the film is excellent as well as, the direction of photography. Anna Persson did an incredible job with the costuming. I will wait wit baited breath for the release of this film to bluray.
