- Season 2 is very tame. There's a brief scene of female and male rear nudity as well as a brief scene of breasts. A man is implied to perform an oral sex toward a woman, the woman moans, the woman's buttocks and nipples are briefly seen. In the final episode, a man and a woman are fully nude and have an intimate moment, but they're implied to have finished having sex, the woman's breasts and buttocks are exposed, the man's bare hip is briefly seen.
- Benedict goes to a brothel. He is seen kissing two women.
- In Season 1 a man and a woman have sex by the tree. Only the man's buttocks are exposed.

- A man shoots pigeons lashing out his anger. It isn't depicted in a graphic way.
- Characters hit each other in the face in some scenes -- a woman when a man aggressively tries to grab her (perhaps intending rape), and an older woman hits a younger woman when it's discovered that the latter is pregnant. One character practices boxing; we see bare-knuckled matches frequently.
- In Season 1 two men get into a fight in a bar. One of them is visibly bleeding in his temple and near his lips.
- Simon loses his temper and punches Nigel until the latter is heavily wounded.
Profanity

- Cursing includes "bitches," "fuck," "fucking." Insults are used to shame women sexually such as "loose," and "ruined," while men who are sexually active are called a "rake."

- Several characters smoke cigarettes, as well as cigars; one character showily consumes snuff. Characters drink at parties and gatherings and sometimes drink to the point of sloppiness and aggression. One character drinks covertly from a flask but doesn't act drunk.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- In a flashback a young Simon is verbally abused by his father.
- In Season 2 the previous viscount, Edmund, is stung by a bee while picking flowers and suffers anaphylactic shock. The effects shown is quite severe as he is shown to struggle to breathe until he eventually died.
- A woman attempts to run away by riding on a horse but ends up fallen from her horse after her horse is startled over hearing a man screaming her name, then her head hits a rock. When the man rescues her, he found out the back of her head is bleeding.

- A man and a woman have sex on the bed on their wedding night. Only the man's buttocks are shown. They're moaning as the man thrusts his hips between her legs.

- Woman gives birth at the beginning, blood is seen and she does pass away due the blood loss a minute after having the baby.
