Jayasurya, who earned a Special Mention from the National Film Jury for his role as a bank manager with a stammering problem in the Ranjith Sankar directed Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam, has now gone one better by netting an international award for Best Actor at the Cincinnati Film Festival for his outstanding portrayal of a trans person in Njan Marykutty, again directed by Ranjith Sankar.

Durga, who has earlier appeared in films like Vimaanam and Pretham 2, is reportedly playing a brief cameo role in Love Action Drama. The film will be the first directed by actor Dhyan Sreenivasan, son of veteran actor-writer-director Sreenivasan. Durga is also paired opposite Dhyan in the movie Kutty Mama, directed by Vm Vinu, and in which Sreenivasan plays the title role. She also has Sunny Wayne’s Vritham and Anoop Menon’s King Fish coming up. Love Action Drama is expected to release on September 5 to coincide with the Onam festival.
