Olivia Cooke, Jamie Bell to Lead Italy-Set Romance ‘Takes One To Know One’ from ‘Pam & Tommy’ Writer
“Sound of Metal” star Olivia Cooke, soon to be returning to “House of the Dragon” for its second season, and BAFTA winner Jamie Bell, recently seen in “All of Us Strangers,” are set to star in “Takes One to Know One.” The film is billed as an “unconventional and contemporary take on romance.”
The feature comes from Italian director Nathalie Biancheri, working from a 2022 Black List screenplay by WGA-nominated writer Brooke Baker. Production is due to commence in Italy later this year, with Cornerstone handling international sales and distribution and and launching sales at Cannes and co-repping the U.S. with CAA Media Finance.
“Takes One to Know One” follows Eleanor (Cooke) and Lucas (Bell). When the two meet in Rome, their chemistry is electric. With a shared passion for art, Italy and each other, it looks like the start of something life-changing. The biggest stumbling block: they are both in relationships with other people.

"You run out on every guy you've ever been with!" Decal Releasing has unveiled the trailer for a romantic comedy called Which Brings Me To You, arriving in theaters in January 2024 next month. It's from the same filmmaker who previously made the romcoms Then Came You and The Hating Game, and this one will probably be just like those two. Lucy Hale and Nat Wolff star in this hilarious tale of love and disaster. Two romantic burnouts meet at a wedding and almost hook up in the coatroom before putting the brakes on. They agree to exchange candid confessions about their pasts on the off chance that this might be the real thing. "Trading candid confessions of messy histories and heartbreak" - revisiting their own "past lives" on screen. The film's supporting cast includes John Gallagher Jr., Ward Horton, Genevieve Angelson, Alexander Hodge, Britne Oldford, Marceline Hugot, and Laura Kai Chen.

The 33-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to talk about the importance of “self-love” and revealed that she recently celebrated one year of sobriety — which she commemorated with a special cake.
“Bear with me, this is an alternative Valentine’s Day post,” Hale wrote, alongside the photo of a sprinkle-covered cake with the words “1 Year!” written in icing. “This is a post about self-love and about the greatest thing I’ve ever done.”
Hale explained, “On January 2, 2023 I celebrated one year of sobriety.”
“While this journey has mostly been private, I felt compelled tonight to let anyone who is struggling know that you are not alone and you are loved,” Hale added.

Lucy Hale took the internet by surprise in a breathtaking new magazine shoot.
The actress wore at least six different outfits that give us that perfect Morocco look.
The first look she shared is a long sleeve animal print dress, with her dark brown hair parted to the side and a brown eye-makeup look.
The second picture is a beautiful close-up of Hale’s face, showing her flawless skin. With a reverse cat-eye eyeliner, her eyes sparkle. And of course, her iconic full brows and plump lips complete this makeup look.
There are two pictures where we can see Lucy wearing what can only be described as a very chic blue and white oversized coat. The coat itself is a piece of art but is the way her long ponytail falls on her back that makes it stand out even more.

Preparing for an upcoming flight isn’t just limited to packing your clothes and toiletries — have you thought about how you’re going to keep yourself entertained? The idealist in all of us might say we’re gonna read that book we’ve been putting off, but depending on the length of your flight, that may be easier said than done. If it’s on the longer side, it can be easy to get distracted and start to really feel the minutes crawling by.

The Hating Game star Lucy Hale is to reunite with director Peter Hutchings in rom-com Which Brings Me To You.
Mister Smith Entertainment will launch sales at Cannes Market next week on the pic, which will see Pretty Little Liars and Roadkill star Hale play Jane, a freelance journalist, who meets a photographer Will and is immediately drawn to him at a mutual friend’s wedding. Though the confusingly named initiative “FX on Hulu” is on its way out, FX is still bringing premium television to Hulu in the meantime.
Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. This adaptation of the non-fiction book by John Krakauer stars Andrew Garfield as a Mormon police detective whose faith is shaken when investigating a murder involving the church.
It’s not all just FX on the TV side of things for Hulu this month, however. The streamer is debuting second seasons of its series The Hardy Boys (April 6) and Woke (April 8). There isn’t much to report from Hulu’s original movies arm aside from true crime documentary Captive Audience on April 21. But that doc about one family’s 50-year journey for justice sounds like a must-watch.

In the debut feature of Malaysian helmer Peyfa, Broadway actress Lillian Cooper (Leo) is making her final on-stage appearance when her famous son, Curtis (Weary), is found dead. When his death is ruled as an accidental overdose, a suspicious Lillian decides to take matters into her own hands. On a quest for answers, she strikes up an unlikely alliance with her son’s drug dealer, Taz (Thorne), setting in motion a bloody warpath to uncover the truth, inspired by the characters she portrayed on stage.
Measure of Revenge also stars Roma Maffia (Disclosure), Adrian Martinez and Benedict Samuel (The Walk). Jen Gatien produced with Peter Wong and Timur Bekbosunov for Ace Pictures Entertainment. Johnny Chang, Bronwyn Cornelius and Emma Lee exec produced, with Jay Cannold co-producing.
“Melissa steps into this role of a grieving and relentless mother seeking justice for her son with such ease that it draws the viewer deeply into her journey and keeps you captivated and rooting for her every step of the way,” said Vertical Entertainment Partner Peter Jarowey.
“We are excited to partner up with Vertical Entertainment on Measure of Revenge to release a film that is an emotional and thrilling experience filled with mystery and surprise,” added Gatien, Wong and Bekbosunov in a joint statement. “Melissa Leo delivers a powerful and energetic performance in the role of a mother hellbent on revenge, forming great screen chemistry with the immensely talented Bella Thorne. Ace Pictures also provided partial financing for the fantastical drama Come Away, directed by Brenda Chapman and starring Angelina Jolie, which was released by Relativity Media, and James Wan’s horror film Malignant.
Vertical Entertainment is a global independent distributor, which was founded in 2012. Other upcoming releases from the company include the SXSW & Venice prize winner Topside; the Sundance thriller Emily the Criminal, starring Aubrey Plaza, which it co-acquired with Roadside Attractions; Lyle Mitchell Corbine, Jr.’s Independent Spirit Award-nominated Wild Indian, starring Michael Greyeyes and Chaske Spencer; Krystin Ver Linden’s Alice, starring Keke Palmer, Common, Gaius Charles and Jonny Lee Miller, which premiered at Sundance 2022; and romantic comedy The Hating Game, starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell.

Photo: ‘The Hating Game’ The hating game is simple - Lucy and Joshua Templeman hate each other and try to make each others’ lives at work a living hell. Assistants at a publishing house, their close quarters, and competitive natures make it impossible for them to see eye to eye, in fact, they’d rather get into a physical fight than agree on something. Lucy played by namesake Lucy Hale and Josh, played by Austin Stowell together turn the entertaining, angst-filled, and high-stakes book into a sexy rom-com that delivers more than we expected. Sony Pictures not only sold 93 percent of movie theater tickets this weekend — with “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at $260 million leading the charge — but the studio is also #1 on all three VOD charts below with two different titles.
One is “Spider-Man: Far from Home” ($3.99), #1 at Google Play and second at iTunes. And “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” helped by a price reduction to $5.99, leads at iTunes and Vudu (the lower price started December 17; Google Play tends to lag a few days in reporting). And not only 2019’s “Far from Home” but also 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (also $3.99) made two charts. And Google Play, in a move that will confuse many, is accepting pre-buys for “No Way Home” for an unspecified date. Those presales rank the film at #6 on Google’s chart.

It was a thin week on the video on demand charts: only 13 different titles, a record low, placed on the three VOD lists we follow and track. And while holdover successes like “No Time to Die” (United Artists/$19.99) and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” (Sony/$19.99) returned to their #1 positions, the real story this week is the ongoing success of three “holiday classics.”
Though each film has placed on the VOD charts in recent weeks, these three older family-oriented titles — including “The Grinch,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “Elf” — are currently at their highest level of audience interest. “The Grinch” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (Universal/both $3.99) both placed among the top six films at Apple TV/iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu. The Will Ferrell-starring “Elf” (Warner Bros./$3.99) clocks in lower, but also appears on all three. And, as Vudu ranks its titles by revenue intake, the films...
