So disappointing!

Warning: Spoilers
Like another review said.. poor acting and low budget! Actually, it was terrible and cheesy acting, I really can't believe this movie made it to the public as is! The girl who plays Cinderella was the best actress of them all - the rest were just so fake and unbelieveable!

In the scene with the dancing, it was the same few actors in the background throughout and they didn't seem to move.. some 'big ball' that was! And in the scene where the sisters have to clean and one washes the table, it's funny how she sets down the glasses then she's washing the table again and then it jumps back and forth with the final result being a table dressed much differently!

If you want to laugh at how poorly this movie was made.. watch it, otherwise don't waste your time!!

I don't really write reviews but this movie wasted an hour of my time. I didn't know why I finished it, maybe i just loved cinderella so much or maybe I just wanted to see how punished the sister and mom would be. But I regret finishing it, worst acting I have seen in forever!!! The story didn't make it any better at all. Such a waste of time and money. Please don't watch it

1 Star because No Stars is Not an Option
I'll make this short and sweet. It's dreadful. Save yourself some misery and watch any other retelling of the Cinderella story before watching this one. I've seen better acting in middle school plays.

My goodness, the acting, the movie sounds, so bad, just bad. Find a free version and laugh at it. That would be more entertaining.

"Enchanted"?
gardeniapalms31 December 2020
For me, one of the really cool aspects to writing a review is being able to share an opinion without having an agenda nor from a pretentious point of view because that is NOT what people want read...okay, it's not what I want to read. Good or bad...as long as I know it comes from an honest place I value those a lot more. Face it, you can usually tell is someone has an agenda or not as you read their reviews. In the case of "Cinderella: The Enchanted Beginning", I will confess I was looking forward to watching it.

No, I'm not a 10 yr. old girl fixated on "princesses", but there is still a piece of the child in me that still enjoys a good fantasy picture where good & ethics triumphs over evil...we can all use a little magic in our lives.

I've watched my share of Cinderella-type movies and still enjoy the basics even when the name "Cinderella" isn't in the title like one of my favorites being the Drew Barrymore 1998 film "Ever After".

For this movie, a few things stick out in my mind and they are not meant to be mean or cruel...just honest: First, I think the term "Enchanted" comes from the part in the movie where Cinderella is walking around the backyard and she tells him she planted the tree they are about to sit under when she was a kid. Normally, for a Banyon Tree to reach the size it was takes hundreds of years, but since she's supposed to be only 16 the tree would have to be "enchanted" to grow that much in less than 16 years.

Second, the performances of a few of the adult characters (i.e. Christine Galliano's "Aunt Claudia") were fine.

Third, the sound. Overall the film looked & sounded like someone had some type of camera & decided to film this in someone's home because many times the actors sounded hollow or were in a place where the acoustics were awful. A few of the picture-in-a-picture "special effects" worked well.

And finally, if you are going to film a "ball", you need more than 3 background players AND it should not occur in the Dining Room or Family Room. (Which reminds me, if you're going to have a "social function" decide what it is and stick with it. At first there was to be a "ball" then it was referred to as a "party" and at some point the line about people wearing masks was thrown in. Consistency is important!)

For this movie you can't really find fault with any one aspect. Instead, the problems range from direction to acting to production vales to the script. There are so many holes in the script you wind up saying "huh?" out loud (the physical fight between the 2 stepsisters: embarrassing to watch). I'm also not convinced there were many rehearsals which would have helped with the various relationships.

I think this movie could be used in higher education courses for future filmmakers so anyone going into the field learn how important "choices" are when it comes to quality.

I have no doubt the intentions for making this film were good, but it takes more than just "intentions" to make something worthwhile when asking people to spend 70 minutes of their time watching a movie. You have to do something this film doesn't: Deliver.

I love Cinderella movies and all the varying adaptations, but this is so low budget, I could make a better movie using my phone. Bad acting. Bad filming and obviously only filmed in the condo.

Im a cinderella fan, so i had to watch this. Whatever possesed the makers to put it out there. I would be ashamed. Acting was incredibly bad (especially "adam"), the "ball" was atrocious and doesnt deserve the name "ball". Please if you have any common sense, dont watch!!!!

It's okay

It's an okay retelling. Quite honestly it makes no sense. So overall I have no sympathy for this Cinderella who is of course an orphan. Her father died a year prior. But what makes it confusing is reading the summery you'd think she was really forced to live there. But it not true at all. She has a loving, caring aunt who has begged her to come live with her and escape the abuse. She refuses because the house she and her step family are living in was her fathers. You'd think well she's staying to inherit or find a way to get the house. Nope, apparently he never owned the house it was part of a share holder. It wasn't explained enough for me, but regardless it basically means she's staying and taking the abuse for essentially nothing as the share holders sell the house to a rich investor. At least till it's explained better in the end.

Yes the investor has a son who is the 'prince' of the story. Odd thing is the dad speaks English that makes you think he's an American but sometimes tried to fake the same accent as the son. But the 'son' has a strong accent.

The step mother doesn't want Cinderella at the ball not just due to the 'prince' but because the other share holders will be there and as her father had been one she feels the attention won't be towards her and her ugly personality daughters. The step sister aren't beauty queens but their not ugly either. Their personalities on the other hand tell a different story.

Her fairy God mother is basically her aunt who has said she couldn't make the party miraculously shows up just in time for said party to help out. Cinderella was locked in a room and somehow auntie knew of a secret passage to a unknown storage room that had things from her mother including a fancy dress and shoes.

Storyline was alright here and there, not great. What was bad though was the acting and how everything played out. Very low budget indeed. No emotion in anyone's acting and just monotone throughout the movie. The "door breaking" moment was the dumbest thing ever!

Such a horrible movie. The acting felt like I was watching a cheap porn movie. That's how bad it was. The characters are way over the top, everything is just... Bad. Didn't find even one redeeming quality. Waste of time.

Awful-Everything!!
darlenearendt24 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Frankly I do not even know why this had a rating of three. I love the Cinderella story and even I could not make it through the entire film. The acting is amateur...worse than amateur. There is really nothing relatable in this film either. Cinderella lacks depth, is whiny, and truly pathetic. The lines of the film are forced and fake. For example when Cinderella tells her step sister to "be nice" what true "Cinderella" would be able to get away with saying that without extreme consequences. A bit later the dad's acting isn't any better when he kisses his daughter goodbye and says, "I'll be right back." And what "aunt" would leave a child in a "Cinderella" circumstance. The part where Cinderella's aunt makes her go into the closet to find the "secret passage" made me cringe as Cinderella whimpered by the door. The step mother and the "prince's" father needed acting lessons and had no natural acting talent. Might I also point out that the script writer really should have remembered his/her chosen setting and time and place in history before writing this script. What father tells his teenager that he needs to make one of the daughters to think that he is going to marry them. I find it extremely unrealistic for a movie made in 2018!!! And why did they make the actor who played the "prince" take out his earrings leaving gaping holes in his ears?!!!! Come on director....let's think this through. I have watched many Cinderella stories and while some have not been my favorite, this is by far the worst Cinderella story I've seen. Do not waste your time.

Overacted and Overrated
perlnixon24 September 2021
Great concept but with the release of so many high-quality Cinderella movies over the years, this one comes off as simply inferior. The script is terrible as the dialogue is unbelievable (no one talks the way they do), predictable (unimaginative) and forced (unnatural), and the cast needs lessons on pacing and body language. The characters are caricatures of the roles they are intended to play.

I've seen five-minute fb stories that have more depth and believability than this movie. If this was produced by teenagers for a school project, it would have been cringey but acceptable; since it was done by adults, I give it a failing grade.

Director, producer and writer are to blame. The actors might have done better if they weren't stuck with such terrible lines, costumes and stage direction.

Not worth watching, even in the background to distract you at the dentist while having a root canal.

0/10.

I thought this was a fanmade instead of a TV movie

Warning: Spoilers
Cinderella we all know the tale by now. Poor girl is neglected by her evil stepmother and sisters, she meets a guy, falls in love with a handsome prince, gets help from a fairy godmother, goes to a ball, leaves a shoe marries the prince the end.

This version is about a young girl named (you guessed it) Cinderella who lives in a rich mansion with her evil stepmother Morgan and her two stepsisters as her father passed away and she is still grieving over him. Later in the movie she meets a handsome guy and goes to the ball incognito(Hilary Duff anyone?).

Overall this film is like a parody of A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and Chad Micheal Murray meets Tommy Wiseau's The Room. Let's hope Camila Cabello's one is better than this travesty.

Bad.

Cinderella's Condo
davelimitless8 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Imagine renting a Condo for the weekend, invite in some Family and friends, get some sparkling apple juice, cranberry juice and a few party balloons. Watch the Classic Cinderella movie with your family and friends, and then just play along like you would be a character of that movie, change clothes a few times, some mad make up skills, "crazzy" pools jumps....and you get yourself a movie like this. The Sparkling apple juice, was probably stalle at the end. If you like this movie, maybe you would find "The Room" from Tommy Wiseau as well rewarding.

There are a few hilarious scenes.
bthnsmnr10 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie gave off major student film vibes.

It is very obviously low budget and there's no harm in that.

However, they describe the ball as "not just a party, it's a ball with puffy dresses, masks and the whole nine yards' while it was realistically a party with maybe 10 people in an almost empty house and a set design that looks like they took $20 and went to a discount store.

There is such a thing as adapting a script to the set.

The actors and actresses weren't terrible but like I said, it gave off major student film vibes.

I would have given it one star but there were scenes that made me laugh. For instance, the main love interest has the same monotone voice throughout the entire film and when he stands up to his father, his dad looks bewildered and states, "he's never spoken to me in that tone" and I cackled as the tone was the exact same as throughout the rest movie.
