Sex & Nudity

  • A couple of episodes explore the sexual assault theme which could be triggering.
  • Some sexual content including crude references and a few scenes of sexual activity. A couple is shown having sex from behind while moaning (no nudity or graphic detail; the expression on their faces seen). Some dialogue about sexuality between teens.
  • brief female rear nudity
  • Quite graphic oral sex is displayed.
  • There is zero nudity of characters in season 1. Some female actors are seen in their swimsuits or underwear, nothing explicit. A few scenes where sex acts take place (oral sex, sex between male/female, female characters kiss, etc), but it is brief with no nudity and camera pans away.
  • Because some of the information listed here is contradictory, to clarify - there is brief full frontal male nudity in season 1. A teenage girl shows a teenage boy a photo of a naked man. The picture is clearly shown for a second before it goes out of focus and the girl puts her phone away. Very brief but graphic.
  • When playing 'never have I ever' the game takes a very sexual theme, with a lot of questions about sex and threesomes
  • Two brief instances of full frontal nudity, one male and one female. Several scenes of hand play and mouth play that show "everything except the very worst". (Deleted. Personal opinions about content are not appropriate for the Parents Guide.)
  • Season 1 - A photo of a topless woman is seen on an iPad. Bare breasts are clearly visible. The same episode has an out of focus photo of a nude man but does not actually show the tip of his privates.

Violence & Gore

  • People are seen with various injuries, non of which look too horrifying, but also throwing up blood at various points
  • S2: A dead rabbit or bunny can be seen with its haunch area almost completely ripped off. It's babies are seen getting milk from it. Can be quite disturbing.

Profanity

  • Almost every other sentence contains numerous amounts of cuss words.
  • Frequent use of the words f*ck, sh*t, & c*nt.
  • Contains religious swearing (e.g., "J-sus f*cking Chr-st", "G-d damn it").

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Teens are shown drinking in a few scenes
  • Teenage girls find a bag of edibles and get high
  • The girls find small bottles of alcohol and play never have I ever- which consists of mainly sexual questions

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Thematic elements may be upsetting to some viewers
  • Some intense scenes involving teens in danger

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • In season two a boys corpse is clearly shown, his complete face is ripped off. Can be very disturbing.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • S2: After seeing that she had trapped, and killed an adult bunny, Martha can't forget what she did to the bunny's children, who were still feeding on the mom's milk. She starts screaming and panicking, then hits herself in the head with a rock. She then goes and slaughters the baby bunnies. After this, she is seen as a frozen, "dead" character. She does not talk or move. She is obviously traumatized. This can be a very disturbing few scenes for anyone.
