A little predictable
plinda82029 July 2018
First this movie should have been called Dumb and Dumber, mother and daughter both go off with perfect strangers which is a No-No, especially in a foreign country. Other than that the movie was okay. The only thing I don't understand is how they were able to convince the Mexican police about what happened.

This was a decent lifetime thriller. Vivica Fox made the film watchable.

The Wrong Cruise? No, The Wrong Movie
tomfsloan7 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Lousy movie. If you have a chance to watch this movie, find another one. I had many complaints. A lot more than an average bad movie. To name a few, the scenario of the daughter being a bad student was completely pointless. The way Vivica ordered the tickets on her phone was very artificial. She needs to move back in with Larry David. The bad guy got clobbered in the head with a large wrench. Despite the blow being hard enough to crack his skull, he got up fine in the next scene with no pain just like Daffy Duck would have done. The acting overall was lousy. There were too many other dumb things to mention here. I was really ready to turn it off with 6 minutes to go but I was out voted. If this was a junior high school student film project, it would be great. Generally speaking, most Lifetime movies are not cinematic masterpieces, but they are entertaining....and therefore they succeed at doing their job. This one was just bad.

Warning: Spoilers
I love cruising movies!! I cruise a lot. It would have helped the movie if the writers had actually been on a cruise rather than showing what the ship looks like. Characters were going into the galley which they couldn't have had access to. Boarding passes are used to get on the ship and the line takes your picture for the sign and sail card. The ship will leave you IF the excursion is not through the cruise line, otherwise they do wait. Drinking on board is for those over 21 and the crew member doesn't just hand you the drink-it's put against your card The drinks aren't free generally unless you have some kind of drink package.. it's not a good idea to use the cell phone at sea--the roaming charges are very high if you're lucky enough to get service. It's not a good idea to just wonder off when you're at the port of call. You are in another country by the way!! I've only watched 35 minutes so far so I'm sure there are other items that aren't exactly correct. Don't use this movie as a guide for cruising!!

I did enjoy the movie BUT
dream-125111 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Everything about this movie was wrong. First of all this is not the way cruises work. Secondly; who the hell goes off with strangers in a foreign country And let their teenage daughter go off alone with someone she knew for less than 24 hours without you!! It was so unrealistic that it was comical.

What in the Wrong Cruise was this?
ryleilove24 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Mkay....what? There's so much but I'm only going to focus on a few things. It's a lifetime movie so you just go in with mid expectations anyway.

1. You and your daughter get it on with some guys you met less than 24 hrs ago?

2. You bring the guy back to your room and sleep with him? What if your daughter came to the room? Where's his room? Who is he on the cruise with? Do you know anything about him at all?

3. You allowed your 18 year old daughter to wander off with the guy she JUST met in a foreign country, AND SHE'S DRINKING??? Absolutely not. Now Vivica, you know we don't do that over here boo.

4. The way Rico and the cop just fell and died instantly after being shot was freaking hilarious. Like seriously? We couldn't get some kind of sentimental moment between Rico and the other guy? Rico deserved more respect than that. His character wasn't just random like the cop.

5. The daughter irked me so bad. Idk if it was the actress, her character or the direction but something was off. She just felt miscast to me. However, she got the role, so ultimately, it was hers...I guess.

6. Ashley the character only had one very short scene but boy was she terrible. I mean my goodness. In this case it was more so the script like get it out already. We spent 5011 hours waiting for her to tell us why she was at the location but couldn't get a couple seconds to bid a decent farewell to Rico.

This in my opinion, is the worst out of all the "Wrong" movie franchise. The last movie I watched with Vivica was 'The Crazy Housesitter' or some title like that and she was so terrible in that movie. I cringed every time she was on screen. Also including how terrible and inconsistent her character was written. However, she did her usual Vivica thing in this one. I didn't find myself having second hand embarrassment due to her acting so that was a plus.

Mischief on the Love Boat
lavatch23 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In this version of the "Wrong" film series, Vivica A. Fox plays a central role as Claire Tanner, who takes her daughter on a lavish cruise to La Paz in Baja, California. As a widow, Claire is still in recovery, and the death of her beloved dad was devastating to young Sky. It is a time for mother-daughter bonding, as well as, apparently, a time for some hanky-panky aboard the Love Boat.

The cruise turns into a nightmare when the two vulnerable women are seduced by a pair of schemers working on the sly with the sleazy director of the cruise, Alex Colton. The ringleader, however, is a man calling himself Dante, who takes Claire for an outing his schooner the Crimson Mistress when the cruise ship has docked in La Paz. Simultaneously, Sky is being seduced by Rico, an orphan, who was taken under his wing by Dante to work in seducing women and fleecing them of their fortunes.

Claire and Sky had received a one-million-dollar payout from the husband's life insurance policy, which was discovered when "Captain" Colton hacked into their computers to learn that the mother-and-daughter team are ripe for the picking.

Unfortunately, the film turned into a bloodbath with the monster Dante killing no less than five people, including both of his associates, a nice middle-aged woman whose family couldn't pay the ransom, Officer Sanchez, and Monica Ashby, the girlfriend of Captain Colton. The saddest casualty was young Rico, who genuinely cared about Sky and helped the mother and daughter escape the clutches of the psychopathic Dante.

The exultation of the denouement in which Sky wins a track event at her school was a bittersweet moment in light of massive calamities that occurred during the harrowing voyage of the Love Boat.

Interesting at first
phd_travel24 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of a mother and daughter going on a cruise and being conned is quite interesting at first. The way the two ladies just fell for the men is a little too irresponsible even for lifetime. When they get cornered by them in Mexico then things don't really add up. It's not a lot of money for them to trouble with. Then the way the ladies keep punching their way out of trouble is a little hard to swallow.

OK watch but not one of the more clever lifetime movies

The Wrong Cruise. The most memorable Lifetime movie yet.
spechblend29 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is pure comedy. People pass out so artfully, and did you see Vivica A Fox on that pew in that church? The way she lay on that thing was...artful. (Again). The pure romance between the teenage daughter and the teen guy(?) was beautiful from a comedic standpoint (how he sobbed holding her face in his hands was priceless). Pay attention when people get hit in the face or die or something...just...graceful. They die before they even get hit-timing is off and it's pure comedy. Everyone goes in slow mo. Pay attention to the different landmarks in this movie. When the teen girl is kidnapped and looks out the window, there's a scene of the beautiful cliffs of Ireland? To your left, the Sahara desert, right, the jungles of Malaysia. Rich in beautiful comedic bloopers and errors. At the end, the green hills of California (and how those policemen held that crowd back in the middle of nowhere without any yellow tape? T losing the crowd away? Priceless) It was an unintentional kitsch movie. You people are all wrong. Sit down, watch the movie again. This time, with a different standpoint in mind.

One of the better "wrong" lifetime movies
lmnclips22 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen a lot of the wrong movies on lifetime, and this is one of the better ones. For once the villain actually doesn't get away in the end, and for once it was nice to see vivca a fox play the role of the lead actress, rather than a detective or school principal.

Great concept
richeebanks1 July 2023
Great concept, however the editing was poorly done with noticeable mistakes! Different cars being shown, such as Vivica picking up her daughter from school. They got in one car but came home in another. The cruise ship was different every time it was shown & they drove down the same road nearly every scene! The characters wardrobes could've been a lot better. They were wearing jeans in Mexico when everyone else had on shorts & sundresses. I expected better from Lifetime, but I'm truly not surprised by the lack of effort from Lifetime. They seem to rush movies to just to make quick money.

The movie was good, but very predictable! Vivica A Fox never disappoints! I was also happy to watch a movie there the teenager wasn't bratty.
