Simply Awful
CryptoGuy19 January 2021
Let's start with the student film cinematography. Poor lighting, janky focus pulling, and cliché movements. Now we'll move to the the questionable editing. The movie was put together like someone found footage. Poor transitions, jumbled scenes, odd cuts. Maybe not entirely the editor's fault. I get the feeling there wasn't enough coverage. The producers either never heard of sound design or couldn't afford it. The acting was mediocre, at best, and the casting a mess. Set design didn't even exist. The directing was missing in action. So many poor choices. The director owes all the actors an apology. The entire film was like watching audition tapes. Ultimately, the blame falls on the director. He had what could have been a really great story, but lacked the talent to tell it. You can see the potential in the very few scenes that barely shown through this heap of garbage. Disappointing doesn't even cover the feeling. Bad. Bad. Bad. If this movie's budget was $2.5 million then the producers belong in jail for embezzlement.

Faith fire
MB-reviewer1854 June 2021
The acting was hard to take seriously and made me laugh at scenes, also the camera work wasn't held right in scenes which made the shots look like something else is happening.

The plot is good but they didn't execute it really well and act it well making it hard to take seriously.

Great story bad acting
ttravisk23 February 2021
This was definitely not a Kendrick Brothers production. I only kept watching because of the story itself. The acting especially the father was bad.

Whining
the_nephilim719 December 2020
This is incessant whining at its finest! Why is it that the religious in the US are the biggest whiners around? They constantly say they are being persecuted yet they are the ones doing the persecuting. Silly, silly film.

Film flopped as hard as their 'message'
jessicabenasic10 December 2020
Terrible film, with even worse acting. If this was a tv pilot, it would have concreted their cancellation. Clearly someone tried, but you need more than that for a decent film.

Small Budget , Big Message
andy-234031 December 2020
We live in a world where people are used to movies that roar and explode to entertain. Every once in a while along comes a quiet film that touches the heart and mind and delivers a message. This is one of those films.

Starring veteran actors Dean Cain and Kevin Sabo, and also starring Nick Vlassopoulos, this is a film about love and loss, and the saving grace of God.

Mr Cain turns in a fantastic performance as Pastor Dan, but the true centerpiece of this film is Mr Vlassopoulos. His riveting and emotional performance as a fireman who is no stranger to heartache and personal loss, and whose personal struggles with God, makes you feel as if you know this guy. You like him, and you feel his pain.

For a small budget film, the returns to the viewer are blockbuster quality.

Starts a bit slow then picks up and ends with power...
imdb-819810 December 2020
The acting was a bit mediocre. The writing was a bit contrived, especially at the beginning. There could have been better character development. It started slow but by the midpoint it picked up and became a very powerful movie. Oh, and have tissue handy. You'll need them.

And as for the Atheists and Agnostics who hunt down Christian movies to down vote them, we get it. You're too closed-minded to understand and accept people can believe differently than you. God is a big God and it takes a lot of negative emotional energy to maintain your rejection of Him and that negative energy overflows into the bitterness and anger you pour out on those of us who do not reject Him. But there's something you need to understand. Some movies are targeted to people with specific lifestyle/philosophies/worldviews and those movies not targeted to my core philosophy I don't review since I'm not the target audience, so my opinion is meaningless and irrelevant. Thus your reviews are equally irrelevant.

Compelling
amywhitmore-3031011 December 2020
This film is a low budget film with a heartfelt message. The actors portrayed such a compelling performance! I realize that some of the locations could have been better, but if you get past that, it's a movie that will having you as emotional as the character of "Tom" showed in the film.

Better than some
michaeldempsey-3836711 December 2020
Obvious low budget film. Kevin Sorbo is in it for 8 minutes or so. What Hospital puts a patient bed in front of shelves holding hospital supplies? The young girl was placed in ICU but it's the same room. In spite of these flaws and some terrible acting by some of the secondary players, the story is compelling. The young actress playing the daughter is very good. The story however is compelling and will bring tears to your eyes. It challenges the oft asked question as to how God can allow personal suffering. There are no easy answers. Not an easy film to watch if you have suffered a personal loss.

Movie about faith without overt miracles
revjbsii10 December 2020
Pretty good movie about faith. No big miracles in the end. Realistic and heartwarming. Don't expect Oscar winning performances here. In this case, the movie was about the message and not about the actors. Was subtle without being preachy. I think the editing could have been better. I think the writing could have been better. That would have made it more entertaining but it didn't feel rushed or pushy. 8/10

So Powerful!
greekmama713 December 2020
Faith Under Fire was a very well-acted tearful drama that had a wonderful message. It shows the true emotions of what people go through during a tragedy. I will definitely be purchasing this movie to add to my library!

Great Message
inspirenorthville15 December 2020
Powerful Message. Be ready to cry! Have that box of tissues ready and prepare to ugly cry. One of the best faith-based movies I've seen. Decent acting and writing. Has a Hallmark or Lifetime movie feel with a biblical message and emotional impact.

Bad bad bad

Not sure why these kinds of movies can call themselves Christian. Not an ounce of genuine Christianity to be found.

Cheaply made, badly acted, unchristian message and a total mess

FAITH BASED MASTERPIECE
itsmariax30 January 2021
The storyline is enough to keep you wanting more, but never wanting it to end. The main characters (father and daughter) were both amazing actors and made the film a quality piece of work. It's SO beautiful to finally see a CHRISTIAN FAITH based movie! If you are God loving, I highly recommend this film.

Three oily wannabe-devout stooges of an as bigoted/delusional movie company
papelindholm9 December 2020
"Hi. My name is Dean Cain/Kevin Sorbo/Nick Vlassopoulos and I'm a christian moviestar looking for work say leading roles fitting my personal conviction. ANY work." After such an introduction I no longer expect one single word of coherence or anything remotely worth paying attention to in the following sentences. I couldn't imagine even a hypothetical scenario in which any - literally -studio executive would but laugh aloud when above named gentlemen leave the room. Apparently and unfortunately I was wrong.

Enjoyable movie!
babebuyit31 January 2021
Truly enjoyed watching this movie! Christian films often get overlooked by big Hollywood spotlights, but this is a title worthy of praise! If you want a breath of fresh air from the awful movies being put out lately, give this a watch!

Awesome
jewelch29 April 2021
Based on a true story, this film does an excellent job of capturing the intensity of the event. As I said, it is riveting. Most movies have songs playing in them, this one doesn't, that I can remember. It is just too plain suspenseful. Very profound in that the protagonist leans on the Lord and her faith in Him to get through her crisis. Very deep soul work woven in. If you love God and like deep and profound movies, you'll enjoy this one. Very well acted, A+. Loved it James Welch Henderson Arkansas 4/27/2021.

Thankful I kept watching!
vickipnesom9 September 2023
Retired nurse so much of the hospital stuff make me grit my teeth BUT the total message was breathtaking! Yes, a simplistic presentation, but the message is for anyone who lost a loved one, ever questions God, or just finds themselves living a solo life when the plans were never for that scene. Tore me to shreds, but offered some real words of strength.

I almost quit watching several times, but glad I kept going. I will be sure to tell folks about it and warn them it is difficult to struggle through the weird way the Dad kept leaving the bedside, the fellow firemen were NOT at bedside, but, in the end...good message.
