What a charmingly fun show! I haven't read any of the comics or anything, but I've been aware of The Tick for a long time; even watched some of the other shows based on him. This one is a bit different than those others but I think it still captures the essence of the character and his world just fine. Given the lackluster entries from the other comic book franchises in the last few years (Marvel, DC...) this show was a breath of fresh air that I think could find a larger audience with just the slightest of marketing bumps. It had a little of everything: action, comedy, mystery, drama... and they were all used well for the most part. It's too bad this show was only two seasons, I think one more could've tied everything up nicely.
While this review is primarily about the show as a whole, I do want to point something out about the finale, and season two in general: why didn't Arthur use his suit more, or at all really, especially at the end? He could've easily just fired a taser or something at the guy and that would've been that. Other than his internal phone I don't think his suit was used at all, whereas Lint used hers to great effect.
This show had some great characters, but I think Dot had the most intriguing arc, despite Arthur being the obvious main character. She was already smart and capable as a nurse but still wanted to do more with or without help. She was also extremely cute before becoming a superhero.
Give this show a chance; it's only 22 half-hour episodes long! Cheers.
