I think I've seen this before
gzsfreak13 June 2020
My wife roped me into watching this one with her. It wasn't too bad. But if you've seen Footloose, you've seen this.

Worse than expected...
jkh-3755912 May 2020
Amazing music. Surprisingly, the cinematography was beautiful and interesting. Unfortunately, the script and acting left way to much to be desired. All the character l development (if you'd call it that) relied on overused tropes and the dialogue... I've seen 10 year olds write more realistic conversations. Nevertheless, I watched the whole thing.

It is not even a Halmark movie.

Why did I watch this? I already hate 'romantic (comedy)' films. This one makes me even more cringe than the few I already know. The animals were playing their role great though.

Footloose for cowboys
ravnfaith6 May 2020
This movie is literally the country version of footloose. Instead of dancing being outlawed it's the rodeo.

So many questions!
daiye24 May 2020
Why would a rodeo go to a town that is against rodeos? Why would a town that is against rodeos have rodeo grounds? Where do you find a small western town full of damned liberals?

Like many movies it is formulaic and cute, in the Hallmark spectrum, but I'm ok with that. A lot of movies today are just way more unnecessarily explicit than they need to be. Having a bland bowl of porridge is nice from time to time.

Great story
discoverytoyskp13 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the story and the fact that it promotes rodeo as I am from a rodeo/ranching family. I like that at the same time it didn't go too political with is rodeo animal abuse debate. I like the love story part and that if I wanted to let me almost 10 year old watch it I could as it wasn't inappropriate for that age group. I wish there were more rodeo scenes and I wish that the costumes were more country and less city/country (if that makes sense). But overall I did enjoy the movie. Props to Shaun P. on another well done movie.

This is an affront to my rural sensibilities.
bradyleehaynes14 May 2020
Super cringey if you've ever been around rodeo. The sentiment is nice and they have a good story but it was cheesy beyond words. It's good to see the rodeo community voicing their position and getting a say on their portrayal. That being said, could've been better executed.

Can you say Footloose?
msnutrigirl9 July 2020
Footloose knock off. I'm surprised the writers of Footloose have not legally gone after the makers of this film for copyright infringement. Horribly shameful.

Basically footloose
stephdevaney3 January 2022
The film is basically a knock off of Footloose, just replace dancing with cowboys/rodeo. It's the exact same story line from beginning to end as Footloose, no original thought through this movie.

Nice relaxing movie
wblum524-881-26205222 December 2021
A little slow but nice knowing the 2 leads fell in love on the set, married and now have a daughter and did 2 xmas films together. The passion they show in their 2 xmas films is real. You can tell they are soul mates. I wish them well.

Although Extremely Predictable
kellyrned31 December 2020
I thought the acting was pretty good and the storyline was cute. To boot, it gave us, the public, education on how the rodeos really do treat their animals, which is something I learned as well. All in all, it was a movie worth watching on Netflix while being sick with COVID. I'm a sap for romantic movies anyway!

Warning: Spoilers
Did I watch the whole movie? Yes, but mostly because I can't stand not finishing one. It was sappy, exaggerated small town rebellious girl meets tough, hardworking cowboy. Growing up in a small town you would never experience something like this. I did like the fact that it actually supported rodeos, but that doesn't make up for the fact that it was way off from actual life in small towns. Would I watch again? Big no.

If you like cheesy, well you have found it
tydawes27 May 2020
Definitely one of the cheesiest movies I have seen. It has a good ole plot line that every other chick flick has and you could easily guess what was going to happen everything that would happen, but it is a good laugh.

What a disappointment!
stephcollider16 May 2020
I've been on a Netflix kick stuck at home and after watching so many great movies on there I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this film. This film was like watching a bad hallmark movie. Everything was hollow, the performances, the story, just all below part. A film like this should have a strong emotional foundation to it, but it didn't. I kept wanting to turn it off, but I kept it on in hopes of it getting better, but I was wrong.

Don't waist your time.

Love how they show rodeos in a good light and how well the animals are treated. Also Hank is the best character and acts like all the cowboys I know!

Weak
jiordyntrinca14 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Disappointing movie compared to its potential. The first 30 minutes are particularly poor. It's a Hallmark-like romantic comedy film with repeated themes, obvious predictability and soap opera dialogue, which is fine if you're into that. The character of Colton Burtenshaw is developed relatively well but this is where it ends. Character substance, or lack thereof, in every other character, including the female lead Tracy, creates a ripple making simple themes distasteful. For example, when the supposed vegetarian orders a cheeseburger simply to rebel against her animal activist father, her younger brother then following her lead, it comes across as a crusade for anti-vegetarianism. It is a shame because it could have been a pro rodeo film without having to villainise animal activists.

Throwback Love Story
trulyindiestudios12 May 2020
First let's start off with pointing out this is a rated PG film so obviously it's made for families and most likely a younger demographic. It reminds me of the simple movies of yester year where there are no planet threatening robots destroying every building in site. It's a simple throwback love story where the two leads chemistry is obviously real as I read they married in real life. Sweat, enjoyable and perfect for the current times in which we find ourselves in constant chaos.

Solid start and great storyline
xox_jessjess_xox7 May 2020
But man, it could have been so much better! I was all for a cowboy romance, but this was literally a G rated wannabe :( I was dissatisfied and a little disappointed after being quite excited. It was an easy watch with likeable characters, cute cowboys and cows... and I'm glad I've seen it because I really wanted to, but I won't be watching it again.

I sat through the first half hour in the hope that it would pick up. But no. I very rarely stop part way into a movie.

Animal Cruelty and Romance
theodoracecelia-4980521 February 2021
Horrendous. Villainizes vegetarians and the whole thing is an advert for rodeos. Attempting to convince you they arent cruel. Makes a mockery of animal rights activists. Apart from that, there's a bit of terrible acting and a painfully boring love story on the side.

No One In This Movie Has Been to a Real Rodeo
schmop7 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There's poorly written, and then there's inauthentically written. A cowboy movie without Save a Horse? Someone uses the word "y'all" like one time, and they said it like it wasn't even in English. Y'all I'm not even from a real rural town and we still got a day off for the stock show and our homecoming shirts literally quoted "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy." I don't know how the administration didn't realize how dirty it is. Probably because they love the song, too.

Anyway, it IS like Footloose. But it's the opposite morals. The small town isn't conservative enough because the daughter - who is literally a 27 year old playing an 18 year old, mind you - can't eat cheeseburgers at her hearts content. Also, like, news flash. Rodeos DO violate animal rights. The dad in this movie is literally correct 100% of the time. But the ranch hand is funny and the dad was in Starship Troopers, so for a terrible Harlequin romance it does the job.

3/10, passable if you bring your own Big & Rich song and plenty of wine.
