Another glorious one!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I really like Emily Rose. I liked her in Haven. The writers again made the police as "dumb as a box of hammers". They have a drawing of the "boyfriend" and yet when standing right next to him they let him go and catch after the Emily Rose character. They finally catch on when looking at videos and comment "He looks familiar". Gee really!! Watch to see Emily Rose but that's the only reason.

Not good

Sill badly acted and directed story with totally unbelievable characters. But I still watched to the end to see what happened even though I knew that the end would be just as bad and it was. How do they get these awfully bad movies financed?

Dumb and dumber.......dumbest!

Honestly, this film is absolute trash and should be reclassified into comedy rather than thriller. Pitiful plot with more holes than fishnet stockings with acting that wouldn't be acceptable at a school Christmas panto. Every scene being worse that the last with the final roof scene where Annie asks just how naive do you think I am? 100% trash.

What Was All That About ?

Well , firstly I am confused beacause this movie has three titles , "Killer Dearest" , "Treacherous " , and " Boyfriends Deceipt ".

So, I am thinking that, maybe they did'nt want viewers to post a review by confusing us , which I completely understand , because this movie is so bad , it is bordering on comedy !!!

Ridiculous plot, terrible acting , ( look out for the Keystone Cops ! ) All in all a very poor movie, dull, and downright silly !!

Not convincing and badly acted

Warning: Spoilers
Emily Rose isn't a very convincing accent. Her way of delivering lines is wooden and fake. The story starts of confusingly. Should have just been chronological.

One day a woman drives her boyfriends car and then after pulled over it turns out to be stolen. He is away on business. When she gets in trouble for all and he confesses to being a thief this she still wants to help him. From then on it just falls apart.

This movie was so boring that I forgot it was on. The plot summary had me interested, so I DVR'd it yesterday, but it wasn't worth it. I saw the lead in a Christmas movie last year and she was pretty boring in that also. For a character who was being accused of murder, has a boyfriend that she can't prove exists, she sort of takes everything in stride. This blase approach in the acting (and possibly the direction) makes it hard to view Annie's plight with any urgency.

When it was over, it felt like a waste of time.

"A Person of Strong Moral Compass"
lavatch29 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If there is anything that cannot be questioned about the character of Annie Tatum Stein, it is that she has a rectitude that that defines her strong moral compass. The hard-driving architect has succeeded as a career woman. But she has a lapse of judgment when she meets Oliver Graham at the Rooftop Café, then moves him into her home within the next three months. Oliver is the alias of Ben, a swindler, art thief, and murderer, who takes advantage of Annie to steal plans to access a vault with paintings valued in the millions.

The drama of "Boyfriend's Deceit" (a.k.a., "Treacherous") is Annie's awakening to her own gullibility. Because she is so honest, she takes it for granted that others are the same. In the film's major action scenes, Annie is arrested, makes a daring escape when the police transfer vehicle is sabotaged by one of Ben's associates, and engages in a mad scramble to safeguard a priceless painting.

Annie's greatest asset in proving her innocence comes from her guilt-ridden father and the head of Annie's architectural firm. Mr. Stein had an affair that destroyed his wife. Annie never forgave her father, even changing her surname to distance herself from the past. Now, the dad has an opportunity to express his love for his daughter by placing his faith in her innocence, then proving her strength of character to the police.

Although the actress playing Annie chose to play the character is a very subdued manner, Annie's stoicism and determination still came across. The was a good build-up to the finale at the Rooftop Café, where Annie confronts Ben. The fight choreography with the painting in the tube used as a million-dollar battering ram was cleverly done. The final moment with the bonding of the father and daughter was the big payoff in this taut thriller.
