Vance the mercurial man
Hillius24 May 2021
Very busy episode this time around.

In order to find out more and perhaps locate the missing flight 822 passengers, Ben decides to become a mole in the mysterious company that may be up to something very nefarious, and he uses his new position to his full advantage. It's pretty clever how he is able to pull things off and just about when he is clear of danger, someone intercedes who motivation and allegiances may not be what was previously suspected. Ben also spends more time with Saanvi as they attend a Ted talk hosted by a victim of flight 828 who has some very interesting theories of her own. It's all connected you know. We may have hit a theme here.

Meanwhile Michaela and Jared must assist in a sudden emergency. Here we meet yet another new character who has been the victim of a tragic violent crime who turns out to be much more than he originally seems. It is interesting that the "calling" as it described in the show can morph into anything it needs to be it would seem. This reviewer was reminded of an older show called Tru Calling that also saw the lead female heroine rushing off to save the day. So far, Michaela is in danger of becoming a well spoken one dimensional character. She has been through quite a lot also in the past many days, and looks pretty rough for the wear. There needs to be more than just saving and fixing in her story. Everything winds up in a quite satisfying way, if again, a bit too tidily.

Danny makes another appearance. Mixed emotions about a guy who is spending time with his former girlfriends children, but there we are. The two children, Cal and Olive have been refreshing delightful characters for TV children. They both don't do the normal TV show kid things like talk like an adult, or be vulgar. Instead they appear to have a fully functional conscience if a bit short on manners. Cal doesn't get too much screen time here, instead we see Olive spending time with Danny in a shared hobby. Just about when you want to call her a turd, she surprises well. Ben makes it more than clear how he feels towards Danny, while Grace who also has less screen time dismisses him with a brief smile. Grace has previously stated her commitment to her husband Ben and her newly reformed family, yet she plays the conflicted woman well. Weird or no, it is hard not to feel for the guy, if only just a little.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Reaction / Review for Manifest Season 1 Episode 7: Episode 6 was great and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Now im curious to see if Cal is still connected to the bulgarian guy and also I wanna know what happened to him. So they are getting closer to finding out about the experiments, just awesome. Is Vance a good guy or a bad guy, that's the question, if I had to give an answer to this question it would be a good guy. I didn't expect that Carlos would have Evie's heart, everything is connected and that makes the show even more interesting. Overall this episode is pretty good and my rating is 8/10.

The story is well written and fast pace, you just wanna know whats coming next. It's fast forward and less bs.

We love this!

They're doing a good job and not dragging it out and pacing it well! Also, they better not kill off Director Vance! We need this guy! Things feel like they're getting risky.

Series has devolved from pretty good sci fi to pathetic soap opera! Fail!

Almost no sci fi, anymore.

Very little to do with the mystery flight, just Prince Charming and his family problems. Bringing in barely relevant children into the main plot episode after episode is just desperate and jumping the shark, imo.

There was a full plane - why don't we hear about all of the other passenger's voices/unexplained influences?! They were all inexplicably drawn to the tarmac just before the plane exploded, so we know they were all affected...!

The hope I had, that the soap opera nonsense was just a blip, has faded, and I really don't care if this gets cancelled.

Broken heart

This episode was quite alright besides that stupid answer to the heartbeat. What a reach. This clearly isn't a small town, that felt like a comical coincidence... I like Director Vance though.
