If Lost actually landed instead of crashing
sscialli2 October 2018
Is what I feel Manifest is like to me, the plane didn't crash on Lost but came back and landed on time 5.5 years later! Good vs Evil is gearing up again!

Good second entry
Hillius23 May 2021
I really enjoyed this episode. Yes, like others I felt it was a somewhat slower episode than the series opener but it was still full of good character development and.quality drama.

This series has been on my watch list a long while and I am glad I am finally getting around to seeing it. Not to spoil anything, but this episode picks up from the pilot with all the characters having to readjust back to their lives.

Ben and Michaela seem to be fighting crime left and right while he deals with his son's cancer treatment and trying to reconnect with his wife. Michaela attempts to reestablish her old life, while dealing with the emotional fall of finding out her former fiance has remarried. Some good drama as well from a fellow flight passenger and his estranged son.

I've only ever seen Josh Dallas in "Once" and it was enjoyable family fun. Here, Manifest seems to be another good family show suitable for most viewers except small children. The episode closure scene is a bit of a shocker which works to only draw the viewer in deeper into the mystery.

8/'10.

Binge worthy
rebclark-265858 September 2019
So I have to admit the first 10 mins I thought it was another lost and almost turned off, however it picked up speed very quickly and I need more! Very easy viewing, some dodgy CGI but definitely worth a watch!

Strong Second Episode [8/10]
panagiotis199314 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Reaction / Review for Manifest Season 1 Episode 2: Episode 1 was good and I gave it a rating of 7.3/10. It's amazing how nobody has the answer to the real question: Where were these people for 5 years? How they don't remember anything during that time? I wonder when I will get answers to these questions, I hope somewhat soon. Ben's wife, what is she waiting for? Just tell him already, it's unfair for all of them. Nice to see Michaela will be able to work for the police again. Ben's daughter is really uncomfortable right now. So after what happened do they have superpowers or something? They can hear voices, they predict the future and who know what else they can do. I need answers. Nice to see that Michaela talks to her best friend again. Wow what was that ending? Crazy. My rating is 8/10.

The messages are getting stranger
Penroze21 April 2022
I like the unique angles the plot is starting to take with the whole "gone for 5 and a half years" thing. Finding out your son went to prison while you disappeared would be pretty devastating. Also, the coincidences caused by the messages are getting much stranger, but I find that interesting. I want it to be explained.

Drama
dncorp4 October 2018
As a Drama I rate this as an 8, all the personal conflicts.

Mystery, crime solving, detective stuff, a rating of 6.

Science Fiction a rating of 0.

Conspiracy a rating of 7.

Only the Ending of this Episode makes me want to watch the next Episode(s).

Reentry
audaciousness29 March 2019
Manifest's "Reentry" borderlines on absurd with a complete lack of science fiction, mystery, drama, or even character development.

It's unclear whether this episode just felt the need to double-down on the filler in order to make the episode requirements, or if this show just doesn't have any substance.

Hey Little bud. Wtf. This is dreadful. Cheapest of characters. Little girl with long hair is super officer. Cancer doctors. Cancer kids. Black people falsely accused. What happened to the time travel.

Slowing down already!! ??
garabedian1233 October 2018
THis show is not going far at this rate. Sure you caught me with a decent first episode...That does not mean you should let up on the 2nd...I'm not hooked yet and there was nothing in this episode to hook me with. This 2nd episode was a snoozer.

The wife is too annoying and a troublemaker
htyula12 June 2022
Regardless of the timeskip the series spents too much time trying to justify or give a soft pass to the actions of the wife. While the series is a half everyday life drama it removes interest in keeping up with the events.

Soap opera with ditto writing
jeroen-10622 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, the guy who hears the music just happens to be at the same storage room as the guy who has stolen the jewelry, at the right amount of time? And the thief conveniently is calling whoever he works with on the phone, while leaving the door open? He's almost literally saying to the other person on the phone he's the bad guy.

What is this? A soap opera? A kid show?

While "Manifest" presents an intriguing premise around a time-warped flight, it unfortunately falls short in execution. The series struggles with inconsistent character development and an over-reliance on cryptic clues, rather than fleshed-out storytelling. What could have been a thought-provoking mystery ends up feeling like an endless loop of unanswered questions.
