Josie and Archie is a terrible decision...
trs-398658 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode proved that the show needs Betty to be good. Archie and Josie have no chemistry together, luckily Josie is leaving the show, I find her character very bland, I will be passing on her spinoff show for sure.

Most of the musical scenes in the show need a cringe warning beforehand, that Carrie musical episode is still the most hated for a reason. Hopefully Josie leaving will mean less music oriented plot lines, almost noone likes it. Singing in the background if of the speakeasy is acceptable. But full on musical breaks are the worst.

The gargoyle king stuff is dragging pretty badly. From the comments I read, most of the people want to wrap the plotline up now. But Im assuming, just like the black hood, the gargoyle king won't be revealed until the last 2 episodes. I'm still pretty clueless as to who it is, I doubt it would actually be Hiram.

Then again, they did make the suspected person the black hood and didn't give it a twist, so...

Dipping into social issues unnecessarily

I really hope this series does not follow the lead of Super girl which has followed every social justice issue known to man. This is really the first episode to do so I will continue to watch as the basics are still good.

Pretty good episode in odd series

Unlike like other shows with twice as many characters Riverdale falses to be able to give any other character besides the cour 4 any screen time and that's because how they have the structured nothing really makes sense and there is no consistency about anything in this show . similar shows like teen wolf or scream and pll or the tvd have all have a main narrative too follow but this shows seems the writers just write downs whatever pops into there mind

Arguably best episode of the season

Warning: Spoilers
I know that everyone is enamored with Betty Cooper (for some unearthly reason), but I find her to be the most annoying character of the series. So imagine my delight when SHE, of all characters, had the least screentime in this episode. And guess what? The episode flowed so much better without Betty's Mary Sue complex and Lili Reinhart's insufferable over-enunciation of dialogue. A "special" episode that focused on the supporting characters Cheryl, Toni, Kevin, Josie, and Moose, there were so many refreshing characters moments: Cheryl and Toni actually communicating as dimensional characters and not just being wasted in filler scenes to appease Choni fans, Kevin and Moose developing as a couple, and finally Josie and Archie having heartwarming interactions. No Betty, no Bughead, no problem. Also, there were some funny Veronica-Reggie scenes and while I think their romantic chemistry just isn't there, they are peas in a pod in terms of being clueless and naïve. Plus, the parents of the supporting characters got to shine: Penelope, Sierra, Tom, and Moose's Dad. And we got a nice Midnight Club reunion, reminding of the seasons other standout episode. Finally, there was the triumphant return of Gladys Jones, a scene-stealing force of nature character. The storytelling was crisp with natural interactions and a nice explanation of certain plot points. This episode is proof that Riverdale functions better as a true ensemble series and not just a Core 4 show.

Bizarrodale (#3.12)
audaciousness21 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A very strong and cohesive episode with a lot of witty dialogue and funny moments. This was definitely a return to the tone and storytelling style of season one and it worked perfectly, with plots like Josie's audition for Juilliard, Moose coming out to his dad, Cheryl trying to get into her mother's alma-mater. With all of the time they spend out of high school, it's been great to see them focus on it these past few episodes.

It was nice to see Cheryl get something to chew on and her relationship with Toni be developed further than usual. I was also shocked by the twist that Gladys was Hermione's buyer and she's manipulating everyone but love where it's going. Lots of great scenes and plots in motion!

Surprisingly coherent, Bizzarrodale offers a refreshing change of pace by putting Cheryl and Kevin where they belong: center stage.

I am kinda disappointed... This episode is very lame, dialoge even worse. There were even some very cringe worthy moments. A failed attempt to give us some Toni&Cheryl and Kevin&Moose story. The whole thing with Jug's mum and sister is super strange and kinda stupid.

So bad I had to stop watching
banjercoco7 February 2019
I honestly think this was one of the worst episodes so far. The acting was sooooo bad and the dialoge was maybe even worse. The ''I'm no longer in the Serpents" part with Toni and Cheryl was just so so bad I stoped watching. I really tried to force myself to watch the entire episode, but I just couldn't... What happened to Riverdale? Why is it so bad? I'm really sad about it.
