Veronica calls Jughead "Torombolo". That's his name in the Spanish translations of the Archie comic books.
Under quarantine, Riverdale High is shown to be strictly policed by the RROTC (whom Cheryl calls "crypto-fascists"), while the La Bonne Nuit speakeasy is a haven for fun and freedom. This dynamic is reminiscent of 1930s Berlin, Germany, during the rise of Hitler's Nazi Party, as showcased in the stage musical "Cabaret" and its film adaptation, Cabaret (1972). At La Bonne Nuit, Josie sings "Cabaret" from the John Kander/Fred Ebb musical, and in later scenes Josie and Veronica each sing "Maybe This Time", a Kander/Ebb song featured in the film adaptation and incorporated into subsequent stage revivals.
The episode title "No Exit" takes it's name from the play by Jean-Paul Sartre wherein three deceased characters are punished by being locked into a room together for eternity.
