Riverdale 309 Review
nickzapapp19 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Minor Spoilers Ahead

A very disappointing episode after the decent fall finale and exciting promo for this second half of the season. Really cool things like Jughead at gunpoint, People raiding diltons bunker and other things missed out being in this episode.

The episode didn't show or elaborate anything that happened from the 08, like Jughead and FP, Veronica and Kevin + Her mom, what happened is she still the mayor??

Also the whole plot of Betty and the sisters was boring as well as Archie's scenes. They didnt even make sence. They should have at least made it like Blindspot, how Jane was fighting her mind with a former persona that makes sence, compared to Archies random memory and mind battle ect..

The Jughead and serpants scenes were ok, however it was very very quick. Also the Archie death scene, I doubt they would kill him, bc he is in the description for other eps. The writing was half ok.

To be honest this ep had the power to be amazing but it wasnt.

6.5/10 - I rounded it up to 7 as 6.5 seemed a bit harsh

Riverdale 309 No Exit
nickzapapp18 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
To be honest this episode was a big disapointment, after the 1 minute trailer for this second half of the season and the pretty decent ending with the mid season finale, this episode had no point. Nothing was really explained about how Jughead and FP got in, though it is assumed they got in some how they should have showed all that stuff. Nothing was explained about what happened with Veronicas Mum after they went to her office.

The serpant bits were ok, but also a bit sudden. Archies game and battle was pointless, compared to Blindspot's 409 that had a heap of sence. Some of the cool stuff from the trailer were not even in the ep like a deal, Jughead and some lady who has a gun on him, those type things should have been included in the ep.

The writing was half decent, as well as some of the scenes with the serpants and reggie. The whole Betty storyline with the girls and boys from the quiet mercy was very boring.

I know this sounds like a really negative and stupid review, the ep was ok but a huge disapointement

I would give this a 6.5/10 so im going to round it up to 7.

Could be Better........

'No Exit' is the Mid-Season Premiere of Riverdale Season 3. It was a pretty weak Mid-Season Premiere .Here we don't get to see the true potential of Riverdale. The acting was good except for Cheryl's, I am not saying that Madeline Petsch is a bad actress but what I am saying is that her character can be annoying at times. We don't see any character development. The story is divided between Archie, Jughead and the Serpents, Betty and the Sisters and Veronica and Reggie, which wasn't that badly done. The Direction, Production, Writing and everything else was well done. The plot is starting to go off the rails and the ending left us wondering 'What is happening?'.

So Overall Its a Solid 7 and I hope it starts moving to its greatest potential.

What is going on?
theactress0020 January 2019
I have loved this show from the start. It was so suspenseful I got sucked in. The last few episodes though are getting worse and worse. It's just too gory and violent and out of control. Also these are supposed to be high school kids but the storyline is completely mismatched... I am actually getting disgusted by the content of this show now. This Gorgoyle King thing and the Bon Nuit and the Farm??? It's gotten boring.

Warning: Spoilers
-archie destroying the old part of himself. Which also applies to this episode.

Wow what a mess. This craziness isn't even fun to watch anymore. It used to be an enjoyable chaotic ride, as each plotline got crazier and crazier.

This episode is disjointed and uninteresting.

Archie's bear induced coma is really out-there and poorly concieved.

Also a gang that doesn't believe in crimes?

It was fun trash and now it's jumbled garbage.

So over this storyline

This episode was boring! I've got no clue where the storyline is taking us and it just gets stranger and weirder by every episode. I'm almost at the point where I'm giving up watching this show

STOP!
bettttycooper17 January 2019
Ok here's the thing! Where's the story going??! Why??! Why this storyline ever happend? How could the writers go from a simple murder case to a serial killer and then somehow an old board game which apparently is more unrealistic than Jumanji! The gargoyle king? What's that? An imagination? An elution? An evil ancient creature? Who even knows? Anything's possible at this point cause Riverdale sure has some great writers coming up with these "INTERESTING" storylines! Like why? The only reason I'm still watching is Lili Reinhart because she actually is the only cast member who makes the show kinda worth watching! Her acting skills are so great and I'm so happy that she's famous now because of Riverdale but I really do hope she leaves so she can be more successful and shine more cause let's be real Riverdale is not gonna survive! The show might go on because people still somehow watch it and by people I mean Cole Sprouse 14 year old stans but yeah the show is always gonna go downhill and that's a shame cause there was so much wasted potential in season 1! All got ruined by the one and only Hiram Lodge and his stupid plots! Good job Riverdale! Good job!

Up and down, down and up

Warning: Spoilers
I'm struggling to wonder if this show is really any good at this point. They'll have an utterly terrible episode like 3x07 then follow it up with a totally entertaining one like 3x08. Now with this one 3x09, it's back to being terrible again. Contrary to most people's opinions, Archie's out-of-body subplot was actually the most decent, but of course a lot of fans think he's boring. The show is at a point where it doesn't care about good acting or decent storytelling. Instead, we get Jughead looking and sounding ridiculous as leader of the Serpents, Veronica playing shrewd businesswoman with her Daddy Hiram, and Betty playing the town martyr and her weird, annoying speech pattern...wash, rinse, repeat. The one character that actually is normal is hated and the 3 characters that look and sound silly more than half the time (being generous) are beloved. And for some damn reason, fans are enamored with Choni, one of the worst written relationships I've ever seen put to screen on a TV show. Made no sense why they got together, makes no sense why they're still together, makes no sense why they'll end up together. And what's sad is that both Cheryl and Toni were good characters prior to this travesty of a relationship. But fans like the stupid subplots and relationships and to many of them, Archie is boring, so they think that the writers should dump him. And I'm starting to agree because I think that KJ Apa is a fine actor that deserves better than this silliness. I am beginning to want Archie off the show not because he's a bad character, but because frankly, he deserves a lot better.

LICK MY WOUND DOGGIEEEEEEE!
coleant1421 January 2019
I was more interested in seeing if the dog was going to lick Archie's wound from the "phantom" grizzly bear (THAT WE NEVER SEE ON SCREEN) than the actual events of the episode! Total bore.

Warning: Spoilers
I am very disappointed that the mid season finale's cliffhanger was for nothing. This episode should have been like Judgement Night where all hell breaks lose, except I expected this to better considering that riverdale was under quarantine.Well it was surely a slap on the face finding out the quarantine was called off.Second of all, what's up with Archie's storyline. He's starting to become the most hated character in all honesty.Do the writers really think we will fall for the whole,'Archie is DEAD!!' thing, puhleeeez. They better not screw this season up.This season started off amazingly but im starting to have doubts about it.Ill stick to Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina in the meantime.

Kinda Going Off The Rails
zombiemockingbird1 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show is weird, but I like it; until this episode, which was disconnected and just made no sense.

The Sisters of Mercy thing didn't seem to work. I thought when Betty proved the Gargoyle King was a scam, that we would be done with Gryphons and Gargoyles; but when Archie goes into bear attack hallucinations (which I'm sorry, is a boring and stupid sub-plot) he's playing the game with ghosts. And we know he's not dead, give me a break.

Betty's orphans (Also a boring stupid sub-plot; why would she take these kids into her house? And CPS doesn't do anything about taking care of them? Not believable) are still taking drugs and seeing the Gargoyle King. Then of course Hiram gets rid of all the evidence again.

I'm also getting tired of the mysterious Edgar and the Farm that we never see. This has gone on for three seasons; come on, fish or cut bait.

Veronica and her Father are getting a little tiresome, but glad Jughead and the Serpents have something to do finally. This show needs something new because if this episode is any indication, it's running out of steam and getting a little boring.
