The writing on Kevin's blackboard is in modern Greek and they contain quotes from mythological persons. The one behind Peralta on the left of the screen reads "Nothing forces us to know that which we do not want to know." said by Clytaemnestra, and the ones behind Kevin on the right of the screen read "Not one day of anarchy, or one lifetime of enslavement to tyrants no, do not worship any of them." said by the Furies, "Enforce balance to everything, for everything, and god will give you strength." said by Athena. Surprisingly enough, there is no single grammatical or spelling error, and the writing makes sense - even though in American shows foreign languages are often misused or don't even make sense at all, and they only serve a decorative purpose if written.
Jake states that he is "above average height according the to 1940 census." Andy Samberg is 5'10" tall, above average height in 1940 (5'9.3") and modern America (5'9" for a man). However, the census does not ask for individuals' heights.
The street where Amy and Rosa ride the limo is the set from "Seinfeld".
Jake and Raymond go to Columbia University to investigate the theft of some rare coins involving some of Kevin's colleagues. The establishing shot for the university scenes is stock footage of Graham Memorial Hall, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. (The black sign in front indicating the name of the Hall was changed digitally to read "Maeve Cannon Lecture Hall". ) All the other scenes supposedly at Columbia were shot at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, USA, mostly at the Seeley Wintersmith Mudd Hall of Philosophy building (1929) and the South side of the Allan Hancock Foundation Building (1941), outside the Hancock Memorial Museum.
