The movie police are coming Gary
spikeneil-84-83695229 June 2019
Without a doubt the worst movie I have seen with Gary Oldman in it (innit). It's getting harder and harder to find films worth watching these days. Film making has gone down the same rotten road as music unfortunately!!

What a mess!
andymaranam2 July 2019
A bunch off oddball mismatch actors with a poor dialogue & no consistency..just a very bland film basically, which includes some A list actors. Even Gary Oldman couldn't save this mess.

Completely wastes a couple of big names and a decent concept
jtindahouse20 July 2019
I was just recently thinking to myself, I wonder if I'll ever see Jessica Alba in a film again. Then a few weeks later along comes a film with her in it. And not just that, but an interesting looking concept for a movie. The synopsis reads, "A support group of killers is held regularly. The participants sit in a circle of trust and share their transgressions." That hooked my attention. Sounds like a fun idea for a film, right? Apparently not, because the film was not interesting in the slightest bit.

No film called 'Killers Anonymous' about a group of hitmen telling their stories should ever be close to this dull. It's almost impressive that they managed to achieve that. Throw in the fact that the two big names the movie managed to get, Alba and Gary Oldman, went entirely to waste. Their characters added zero interest to the film incredibly.

Near the end the movie tries to get tricky and complicated but by that point you've already been bored into submission and no longer care. I'm not exaggerating when I say there isn't a single intriguing or watchable character in this movie. Don't be fooled by a couple of big names in the cast, this is pretty much a complete misfire and one to be avoided.

Just how did IMDB give this rubbish a 6.8 rating?
goodtime-336-740812 September 2019
Looking thru the reviews of this movie on IMDB there was one of 10/10 (one assumes the director's mother ot a company shill) and one of 8/10 (see above brackets) and even the verbage used in those two are hardly positive. The rest of the reviews rated the movie an average of 2/10, and quite rightly so. No script, pointless story, woeful acting and quite obviously trying way too hard to be Tarantino-esq. Missed by a country mile. This movie was an embarrassing waste of resources unworthy of any further comment.

Dreadful, Jessica Alba in it for 3 mins
andy-scully15 July 2019
Awful, messy film, Jessica is in it for the first 3 mins of the film. Rest of it is based in a room. Gary Oldman role is just an add on, pointless really. The plot is just rubbish and the ending if it can be called that..? I can only assume this was made for a tax dodge for everyone concerned.

*** "I Just Require Clarity"
GManfred1 July 2019
One of the characters makes this declaration early on, and I couldn't agree more. Clarity is in short supply in "Killers Anonymous", a dreadful indie misfire with a not-half-bad cast of unknown actors apart from Gray Oldman , who should be thoroughly embarrassed. Who wrote this mess? It's hard to determine which is worse, the plot or the script.

A group of killers meets in a sort of an Al-Anon for killers. Someone has tried to assassinate the American President on a visit to London, when suddenly, he staggers into the meeting wounded. I'm not going any further because it gets worse. Of the unlucky cast the only standouts are Tommy Flanagan and Rhyon Nicole Brown. The rest should try to have this film deleted from their list of credits. Gary Oldman escapes intact since his part is so small.

A truly awful movie.

Weird film and you can get lost if you don't pay attention. Very clever though and definitely worth a gander. Happy watching.

Really good watch
darylwoodhouse6 July 2019
If you can just appreciate films for a bit of light entertainment and not expect perfection all the time, then this is a really good film. Especially for a low budget.

I get fed up with all those who are so negative and critical about most things. Just relax and chill

It's senseless, plain stupid and boring...

Stay away from this nonsense, it's really not worth it....

Listen to the other reviewer - Just Say No
gringott1 September 2019
Complete and utter nonsense. I can say nothing positive about this movie. The movie does serve as a guide to everything that is wrong about the modern movie industry. No wonder people stay home rather than go to the theater. Demand your money back for paying to see this trash.

In case it does not register, I gave this movie a 1/10.

Gary Oldman, you should be ashamed.

One of the worst.
LordCommandar30 June 2019
Do not waste your time on a film about killers who never kill, sitting in a room talking about absolutely nothing that makes a story worth watching. This was one of the worst I've seen in 2019, and 2019 has produced a lot of rotten films. Jessica Alba and Gary Oldman were useless for this crap. Their roles were totally uneccasary. This is not even worth a straight to DVD audience. Utter crap. AVOID!

Horrible waste of time and resources
kavonaj24 July 2019
Some movies are so terrible that they are almost fun to watch. Other movies are bad but have some hidden pearls in them (ideas worth polishing). This movie is neither. Its' just DREADFUL waste of time. It starts promising (first 3-5 minutes) but quickly makes a wrong turn somewhere and drives cocksurely down the bad-worse-worst alley. Alba is only there in the beginning to reel us in and Oldman (great as he is) is not really part of the movie. Separate parts of the script were written by a uncooperative five year olds with ADHD and director didn't put in any effort. Characters are random, shallow and inconsistent. Actors are on the spectrum from "struggling" to "not even trying". There is one exception: Doctor (Calvin) character is consistent/decently written and superbly performed by Tim McInnerny.

My suggestion: watch the first scene (Oldman & Alba) if you really have nothing better to do with your time, but do yourself a BIG favour and skip the rest of the movie. It doesn't progress... it turns to "WHY!?! WHY on earth would someone waste its time and resources on this".

2/10 AVOID! - Would be 1 if not for McInnerny (Calvin), Flanagan and first 3-5 minutes (Oldman & Alba) scene.

Low rating,, really?! Uncomfortable much?
Sarahmeakin7 July 2021
This film get low marks from those with attachments to certain outcomes. I loved this film because it was good enough, very much good enough, to throw me for a loop. It bounced me out on my little "but a bow on it" box. To be blunt, and sorry if I offend anyone, (not sorry at all) this film asked the viewer to see it from the perspective of the characters. Yep, it tapped into the sociopathic facet that exists in all of us and asked us to take a short ride. The quality of acting, because of the choice of cast, was awesome. The actors said yes to this film because they understood the essence of it. God bless them for doing so. We need truths pointed out to us. True artists do just that. Give this little flick a chance. And, be open to the "who gives a f@#%" feel of it all. Your soul will be fine. I promise.

What did I watch?
thehatch200230 June 2019
Watched this with my wife. Neither one of us even understand what we just watched. What was the plot? This movie is worse than the movie river of darkness. I would be ashamed of myself being associated with it, and I would put it in the corner of the internet to be forgotten.

It started so promisingly as well
Gothamite13 November 2019
It had a good premise. Some good ideas and started fairly well. Then it went off on a tangent trying to throw in plot twists and just ends up a disjointed mess.

Actors Who Wish They Were Anonymous After This...
WalkdenEntertainment14 January 2020
A special support group is regularly held just for a group of killers. Killers who have all murdered people in the past literally sit in a small room and discuss some of their darkest secrets about their kills and their upbringing. But things turn for the worst amongst this support group. On the same day the killers meet up for a session, the world is in shock as an assassination attempt is made on a Senator. Suspicion begins to grow amongst the group as the night goes on. Could one of them have other motives? Could one of them be behind the assassination attempt?

Needless to say, the best performance in this film is Gary Oldman. But unfortunately for Sir Oldman, other than in the opening act, his character spends the majority of this film on a stakeout, drinking wine and looking though his binoculars. Right away I can say that this was not a good film for his career. Another surprise is that Gary Oldman isn't the leading man in this film as many would hope based on the film's poster. But wait, there's more.

Jessica Alba is listed as 3rd billing on the film's poster, but not only is her performance here a painful one (sorry Jessica, I can't lie), but to my shocked surprise, her screen time in this film is less than 5 minutes! So if you're going to watch this film because you're a huge fan of Alba, you are going to be extremely dissatisfied with your movie selection. I found this element of advertising rather sneaky and somewhat misleading.

Killers Anonymous brings what should be a simple story, but thanks to the over the top script and dialogue, viewers will instead listen to characters deliver useless information and watch a dry and slow (rather painful) plot. Films like this shouldn't require much focus from the audience, but based on the film's opening act alone (which I rewatched again trying to make sense of it) I found myself confused and frowning for the full duration. Even after the film's first 30 mins I was surprise to find how little progress was made in regards to the plot. Any plot progress made takes at least over an hour, but even then it's still only a minor step forward.

The film does manage to bring some minor creative elements, particularly when it comes to filming. One example of this is when Gary Oldman's character gets a phone call and the film interposes the two scenes so it is as though the caller is sitting right next to him like a normal conversation. Needless to say this style of filming is trying to assist the humour and attempts at witty dialogue. While I enjoyed this style of filming, it's ultimately ruined by both the cast's performances and the script. I couldn't help but think this film was an attempted mash up of a "Quentin Tarantino" film mixed with "Smoking Aces" vibes.

Overall, Killers Anonymous is a dissatisfying film. A plot like this should actually be simple and easy to follow but it's not. The concept as a plot is actually a good one but it's ruined by the script and uninteresting characters. Jessica Alba fans will also be shocked to find the actress has a role that last less than 5 minutes even though she has 3rd billing on the film's poster. Certain filming styles and lighting work may bring compliments from some movie fans but it's not enough. In the end, I'm in shock and not in a good way either.

The Gary Oldman Show
pauliecorleone-7262829 June 2019
Gary Oldman looks well, healthy, and has finally grown into his features (not to mention his last name), evolving into a very handsome old-boy-toy. Acting-wise, as predicted, he is good here, too; a pleasure to watch annihilating everyone with his mere presence.

And yes, I realise this is supposed to be a movie review and not a Gary Oldman review but trust me when I say... this is for the best.

Very Middle of The Road
isantistao15 January 2020
This movie is neither good nor bad. It is somewhere between "Meh" and "Ok". It's one of those movies you won't feel like was a total waste of time, but you could have done without. It had potential, but it didn't fulfill it. It wasn't really disappointing though. Just very middle of the road. The only disappointing part is that Jessica Alba, even though she is on the cover, is only in the movie in the introduction. So is it worth watching you ask? Maybe while you work out or do something else (I was watching it while I work out).
