Just Bad

Watched this last night and was really dissapointed, acting was awful., the story had substance but was poorly executed, it would have been a 4 or 5/10 for me if it had more violence to show how ruthless dug cartels really are.,

there was no saving grace here, except the scene where the hand was chopped off, haha

if you can watch something else, please do...don't say you were warned

Good plot, poorly executed. Lengthy sometimes unnecessary dialogue and no thrills. Acting? Funny bits seemed real enough but everything else just had no substance.

This was an ok film. Most of the unknown actors did a good job and I'm reviewing because I knew the guy( forget his name) who played the lead Mexican cartel was Italian! I was just in Italy. I liked him and think he'll go on to do good things. Overall it was a decent watch.And that's about it.

Sorry to the cast and crew, but this is incredibly bad. The lengthy and misogynistic writing made me wanna quit watching it in the middle, but sadly, I didn't. The location that was supposed to be the cartel place was awesome and badly used with bad acting and bad sound editing. So not good at all.

Nothing happens until 1h mark

Seriously nothing happens just some Chad acting like an asshat creep to his friend and the actors interviews. Nothing suspenseful, just nothing.

Don't lose an hour of your time and just skip until they get into the warehouse at the 50-60 minutes mark until the cartel guys show up you will miss nothing of substence.

So i went and finished the movie. The only thing worth watching are the last 20 minutes but at this point why bother. Absolute garbage of a movie.

Bad script, bad actors especially the lead girl, the cartel guys are awful, little to no suspense, kills are unsatifying, ending is awful. Seriously this is a warning to everybody listen to this review and please don't waste your precious life watching this probably in my top 5 of the worse movies i've even seen, it feels like a youtube movie made with 500$.

The movie starts with a nice juvenile story and has a not bad comedy, good plot, fine actors, acceptable scripts but everything just gets really terrible at the end! I mean: THIS MOVIE HAS THE WORST ENDING EVER!!!

The movie plot was amazing but the acting was not good all except Natalie, I can't belie that now with all this technology a shooting can't be made to look realistic it kinda reminded me of the 2000 when they used ketchup for blood. This movie could of been amazing if they made the movie more realistic and showing the public of everyday happenings.

Solid Small Budget Thriller

This movie has a great premise in that four kids witness a cartel murder and try to escape being killed themselves.

The story was well crafted and held my interest. The dialogue was natural, entertaining and not full of fluff for the sake of dialogue. Each character has their own personality and it shows. We get to know them well and are invested in their escape.

I do wish they made it to the warehouse earlier in the movie, and we got to explore more inside cartel building to see what other scares were lurking around.

Overall good small budget thriller thats worth the watch.

If you're reading this you've watched, or have some interest in watching Witnesses - either way, thank you!

When watching or reviewing, keep a few things in mind:

Yes, Witnesses is a THRILLER that bleeds into the horror genre, shot in the found footage style.

Found footage is such a polarizing shooting style - you either embrace the sub-genre, or despise it. Taking that into consideration, we eliminated from Witnesses many of the elements people hate. First, we gave the characters a plausible reason for filming. Sure, you're going to find some shaky camera and smash cut transitions, but very minimally. They are only included as a nod to the genre and not found throughout the movie.

All that said, I went in realizing that you cannot please everyone. Pick any movie and you're inevitably going to get your haters. But those that have watched it without preconceived notions, or certain expectations, generally like it.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion. Your taste in a movie is completely subjective, but I am presenting this message for your consideration when thinking about what you watched, or what you will watch.

We did not go in expecting an Oscar win. This is a movie, not a film. It was our intention from the start to make an entertaining VOD movie and we think that was accomplished.

I hope you enjoy(ed) it!

P.S. Yeah, I gave it 10 out of 10 Stars, because it's mine, and I'm biased.

This is so damn good I can't STAND it. There I was all alone whooping and hollering at the end of this movie. Four student film makers go to a warehouse located near the cartel tunnels that go from Mexico to the US to finish their class project when they inadvertently witness a cartel killing. Once they are discovered the chase is on. They are running from a man in charge and his monstrous henchman. Man oh man is this good stuff.

You can tell straight up it's a low budget little film, and honestly, it is far from the worst, and is watchable, possibly even enjoyable to the right person or right time. It does drag a lot at the start, the acting is meh, but the plot is at least pretty cool.

Not toooo bad,but not good either...acting is fine,cinematography too,script is not well thought trough... a lot of unnecessary things ,first 45 min and a lot of illogical turns in the last 45 min.overall,one time watch,could have been much better.

The acting is horrible first hour or so I wanted to kill the actors then when they enter the warehouse and cartel is introduced I wanted to jump through the screen and kill the teens I only gave a 4 ***due to the actor who plays the cartel actor was ok don't waste your time watching this movie

Poorly written, badly acted, badly made, not much going for it.

The story is different, a slasher/drug cartel film is not a storyline that would first come to mind, and it shouldn't be made again, it doesn't work, well it didn't this time anyway.

It's definitely the worst film I've watched for a long time, watch if you have nothing else to do, at all!

If you like Found Footage horror, you could do far worse..you could also do far better..This movie could have been great (seriously) because of the setting and overall plot idea. They just don't do much with it. Inexperienced director? A writer with a great idea but no creativity? Both? Whatever the case, the movie simply fails to live up to it's potential. Even then, it still managed to be pretty decent.

This movie was very good for a first time director in my opinion. It has it's faults, but if you accept it for what it is and like horror movies then you should give it a rent on Amazon Video.

I went into this movie with very low expectations (based on several low scores and reviews here!) but was pleasantly surprised by the end and consider this thriller to be well worth the visit. Ok, it won't win any Oscars but give this movie and the characters a chance and enjoy it for what it is. Well done for a first time director! Thumbs up here.....
