Julian is being arraigned as an adult and faces more than 30 years in prison. He is a fragile, manipulated little boy whose belief system has been thrust on him. But the locals want their pound of flesh because of that crazy commune. Of course, the males in town want it to be a Waco thing, where they go in and burn the place down and kill everyone in it. Harry Ambrose becomes more and more unsettled as he listens to this talk. The young policewoman is learning more all the time. She had a relationship with a sort of loose young woman when they were teens, into drugs, and adventure. The girl went to the cult and never returned. Julian is being treated like a psychotic adult. We learn that there are secrets about his birth and that their are major questions about the people he killed . He is utterly alone. An event takes place at the end of this episode that is startling.
