Sex & Nudity

  • Mild verbal sex references.
  • After the prologue of episode 3, a topless teenage girl walks out of a tent and her bare breasts are visible for a few moments.
  • In episode 3, Cassidy invites Sean to go skinny dipping with her. She takes off all of her clothes and her nude body and bare buttocks can be seen from a distance. Sean does the same and there's a brief shot of his bare buttocks. No breasts or pubic nudity at all.
  • In episode 3, after a swim in the lake, Cassidy and Sean go in a tent and have sex, bare breast are briefly shown.
  • In episode 3: if the player romances Cassidy, she and Sean will have sex in a tent. She'll take her top off, bare breasts exposed for a few moments, before getting on top of him. The camera will then cut back to the party in the woods. No sex is actually shown.
  • Depending on some dialogue and story choices, Sean can end up kissing Finn (another boy) for a few moments.
  • In episode 3, it's revealed to Sean that the teens working at the marijuana farm are in no-strings attached polysexual relationships.
  • Episode 4 - Sean is seen taking a shower. His upper body is seen including nipples. He then gets out of the shower displaying his upper buttocks for a brief second. He goes to change into his pajamas where we see his upper body (including nipples and stomach) down to his v-line. Underwear obscures any genitals.

Violence & Gore

  • Some intense violence and death. But like the previous games in the series, it's mostly bloodless.

Profanity

  • Frequent strong swearing, most of which is done by teenagers and a preteen child.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Smoking and drinking is in every episode, including scenes of teenagers smoking drugs or referencing them. Episode 3 is set in a marijuana farm.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game's central plot is based around a tragedy grown out of a misunderstanding. The two boys make a dangerous journey across America to get to Mexico and face opposition from the law and other racist violent adults.
  • Because of our current climate in the Trump era, the game makes numerous references to the ill treatment of migrants. If the player checks Sean Diaz's Facebook (in-game) following the death of the cop in episode 1, some of the comments will display ethnic slurs and death threats.
  • There's constant tension between the two brothers over Daniel's powers, and this is made worse by the supporting characters intervening in their problems.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Sean and Daniel's father is killed in the first episode when a policeman shoots him in the chest. His dead blood-covered body can be seen a few moments later.
  • The Diaz brothers' dog, Mushroom, is killed by a cougar. If the player decides not to intervene, Daniel will use his powers to break the cougar's body, killing it.
  • In episode 2, depending on the player's interactions with Chris, the latter could accidentally be hit by a police car. It's never made clear if Chris survives his injuries.
  • Episode 3 features some physical violence between the teens and two adult men they're working for. The teens are threatened at gunpoint and, depending on the actions taken by the player, Finn is shot in the leg and/or killed.
  • A character gets a shard of glass stuck in their eye. They have to do constant maintenance on their eye to keep it from getting infected, including cleaning it with a Q-Tip and applying medicine, although it is usually obscured and the character wears an eye-patch. However, later in the film the character is seen without the eye-patch and depending on the player choices the eye will be either white or black.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • During the party scene in Episode 3, the player (as Sean) has the options to smoke weed and drink. If you choose to do so, Daniel is angry and effected on some level, locks certain dialogue prompts, and causes Sean's sketch to be messy.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The death of Esteban Diaz, and the possible death of Chris Eriksen, are shocking and upsetting. This is made worse after the player spends an amount of time getting to know both of them.
