Missed opportunity
Vesuvius932 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I came to read the reviews to see if I wasn't the only one disappointed with the end of this episode. Last week was exciting because I wanted to see an evil Nora this week. We got to see it a little in this episode and I thought it was cool, but it wasn't evil enough. However, at the end of this ep she's already redeamed herself. This could have been an excellent opportunity to really pit Nora and Barry against each other (for more than 3/4 of an episode), because the way Barry acted was despicable and he totally deserves some smack for his "holier than thou" behavior. And the buildup with Cicada has been disappointing too. The pace is just off. Too bad.

I generally enjoy the Flash so it would take a lot for me to stop watching the show, but Barry's lack of fighting is just disappointing. Supergirl is suffering from the same problem. Where are the epic fight scenes with our lead superheroes?

Meh season

Warning: Spoilers
Barry kept acting like fool these last episodes, and Iris has become more likable than him . After living her whole life idealizing her father and helping them save the city from that satellite crash, all that to get treated like she was; i would have understood if Nora had went full Anakin.

Nora Dark
paultapner12 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not the one from Legends of Tomorrow, though. Following on from the end of the last episode, Nora's in a bit of a mood. And puts together a team of rogues for a robbery for something she needs.

Meantime all the personal stuff from last week in Team Flash hasn't gone away.

A fair few good points. It hints at character development for Cisco. His taunting the rogues at their lack of interrogation experience compared to him is fun. And Rag Doll is back and even better than before, even though his voice could do with being a bit more out there. But he's still amazing to watch.

It's not filler. The plot does tie into the season story arc. The lady who plays Nora is good at showing her dark side. And the strength of this season - grown up adult drama - is once again there with the Team Flash interactions.

It does rather cop out in the last five mins though. But up till then, not a bad watch.

Just when we thought The Flash was becoming good again...
casperberglund_1 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This might be the weakest episode of the whole series, even worse than Girls Night Out. The only reason I'm giving this episode a 4 / 10 is because of Sherloque and Cisco. This season, Cisco hasn't been as fun as he used to be, and he's been kind of annoying, especially when he created the metahuman cure, but in this episode he was just funny and likeable, and that was good to see.

To be honest I think I'm being to generous rating this 4 / 10, but it's only because of how much I love Sherloque and everything Tom Cavanaugh does on this show, and because how much I love Cisco. I truly hope no one gives this episode a high rating, because this seriously was a terrible episode.

First of all, last episode ended with Nora entering the Negative Speed Force and she got red lightning, and I think we all were expecting a evil Nora this episode, which would have been exciting, but no, what we got was a girl who's so overdramatic and is angry at her father. She then joines the Rogues, and all the villains were so bad. Rag Doll was the only one who was actually decent, the rest was just unthreatening boring and unnecessary villains. Nora had no reason to join them, and apparently she joined them because she had to get a gun that's able to destroy Cicada's dagger, and she didn't ask Barry for help because she didn't trust him. Are you kidding me? She's the one working with Thawne behind his back AGAIN, and when Barry tells her he wants her to come home, she don't even care and runs off. And Nora was angry (not evil) for 30 minutes, and then suddenly she's okay with everything? What was the point of the episode then?

The last couple of episodes gave me hope for the rest of the season, and now Iris suddenly starts trusting Thawne and Barry is OK WITH IT?! So dissapointing. This whole episode was unnecessary. We could've had an evil Nora, instead we got a girl who acted like an angsty teen, the villains were so bad and added nothing to the story, and this was again another episode that brought nothing to the Cicada storyline, except at the end of the episode. Cicada has been dragged out so much this season, and there is only two episodes left.

Overall, this was an incredibly boring episode that wasted so much potential, and it didn't make me a tiny bit excited for the last two episodes. It saddens me to say this, but I've lost hope for this season.

A strong premise that it mostly makes the most of.

Warning: Spoilers
"Gone Rogue" is a pretty solid episode of The Flash. But only just. I think the Rogues line up was a pretty scary thought going in. Almost none of these were particularly strong villains in their intro episodes (with the exception of Rag-Doll) so I can't say I was truly excited for it.

Luckily, though, the episode managed to win me over in the back half. I won't say that it's an amazing episode but once things get underway we get some truly amazing moments and the final act of the episode is super strong. Nora's arc is also really great even if I would've been okay with it lasting a tad bit longer.

And just like that, the flash is trash again Warning: Spoilers
Are you kidding me CW? Really?! After giving us Nora with red lightning you give us this crap. Why can't you guys get your crap together and make a good season again (like season 1 and 2). I mean what happened? Does everything have to be about forgiving people and second chances? After last episode I was so excited to see Nora become evil, only to see that she tapped into the negative speed force to steal some gun and end up forgiving Barry. Because of that part the last two episodes are irrelevant and add nothing to the story. And what was the point of the rogues? They were so boring and unnecessary. The only thing good about this episode was Cisco and Sherloque. Also, why do you guys have to make Iris so unlikeable? Everything she says I just want to scream at her. She is the worst character in the show. And the villain this season has done nothing. He's (now she's) not scary nor causes tension when present. The only reason I'm finishing this season is because I've been invested in it since day one and I saw that we'll see Barry vs RF in the finale.

Is there a bottom to this downhill slide?
dhenderson-92 May 2019
Last week's episode was horrid. Like, it pulled hard on the stupidity detector in everyone's brain and just made us all mad.

This week's was dull and vacuous. I fell asleep watching it. Twice.

Nora's a joke. Iris is still annoying and her need for a constant girlpower vibe is not helping - she's a journalist, well, not trained to be, but, kind of, and that gives her the qualities necessary to run the team? I know lots of journalists and most can't run their own lives competently much less organize and develop strategies for a group of heroes with super powers. Maybe that's why they don't do the obvious things very often. Like Barry is faster than anyone and takes way too many hits. That's only remotely possible with the right villain, if he's only half paying attention.

The story was unbelievably finagled into making Barry out as wrong and Iris as right. Another yank on the stupidity detector. Oh, and the finagling itself was a full-on tractor pull on said detector. I could almost sense a collective wince from fans the world over desperately trying to hold onto something in this show to like.

And that's the saddest part. We want to like this show. We're all pulling for it. But the writers and producers are bent on putting out a product that kicks us repeatedly in our collective teeth. Most are hanging on for a good finale, but that won't help. It's like someone smacking you hard in the face and offering a candy bar to forget the offense. We may take the candy, but we won't forget the abuse.

Please stop Nora
mecong-378-2927013 May 2019
Another terrible Nora episode. Again she does something totally absurd out of pure stupidity and she never learns a thing. She is once again overcome by her childish and naive emotions and more or less behaves like stubborn kid. And the acting of JPK is just painful.

Just A Poor Episode
Sam_Ash_762 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"The Flash" had some pretty good episodes lately, the Godspeed episode was certainly flawed, but definitely entertaining, Snow Pack was another alright episode with some problems but once again, entertaining. This episode, "Gone Rogue", not so much. The episode could've been great, having Nora become evil and go against Barry and the rest of Team Flash could've been a compelling battle. However, it seemed to all be a rouse. Which is a damn shame because it felt like the episodes leading to this one felt a bit pointless. Another small problem with this episode is that it's located as the twentieth episode of the season, and with this season being twenty three episodes long, I have absolutely no idea what they're doing.

Season 4 is much worse than this season, at least for me and most other people in general, but it did have an endgame, with the thinker conflict. This season has a much less compelling villain (which is hilarious, because the thinker wasn't good to begin with). Cicada is still out there, even though she is barely referenced in this episode, until the very end where she gets some screen time, with her "alive" father? That is interesting, I guess, but not so much so that I'd actively been telling people that I cannot wait for the next episode.

I've never been this unenthusiastic about this show before, but genuinely, I do not care if it gets a seventh season or not, because it doesn't really deserve it anymore. This episode, bringing back, arguably, the show's worst villains as a group just truly sucked and was a less than exciting aspect.

I feel generous giving this one a 3, but I did love Cisco in this episode and some of the scenes with Ralph were good. Barry trusting Eobard Thawne might just be the literal dumbest thing ever written into a TV show... ever.

Garbage
breathedirt1 May 2019
Only two more episodes left and this hyped me as much for the last ones as the first season of Cloak & Dagger for its second season. The majority of screen time is devoted to teen female "villains" (well, we have female power in The Flash and Arrow, LGBT in Legends - those are nice agendas you've got there, CW) who are completely boring. The rest of the screen time was practically filled with the Barry-Iris drama where henpecked Barry first expressed his reasonable suspicions about Thawne's involvement in Nora's life only to apologize for them later. You cannot fool us, CW. You can put here as many 10/10 reviews as you like but you're not going to change the huge decline in the number of viewers (the actual reflection of reality). I suggest you get rid of feminism/LGBT and people who want to include them forcefully in your TV shows and go back to what made your views go up.

2.5 out of 5 stars.

The episode is anticlimatic. Stupid with characters. And boring storytelling that repeats itself.

What happened to the flash? This show used to be great but not anymore. Think the writers have forgotten who the main character is, I'm bored of the iris, Nora and Caitlyn show

This show is so bad right now on every level. Kiss syndication goodbye. It's a struggle to watch it now. Watching it again is not an option.
