Hermosa Beach may border Manhattan Beach geographically, but each city has its own identity and history. In the AVP's inaugural season, there was an event in Hermosa Beach, but not Manhattan Beach. Also, the first ever telecast of beach volleyball took place at the Hermosa Beach event. Appropriately, Hermosa Beach falls from July 27th to 29th, right next to Manhattan Beach on the 2018 schedule.
