It is the start of a new term at Blackrod Primary School and the pupils gather in the hall for assembly, led by headteacher Mr. Dryburgh. He announces that a new class is starting - for their parents.
The class is fully into their term at school and already a few of the pupils are testing boundaries. Jonny disregards the uniform regulations and refuses to do his homework and is summoned to the headmaster's office.
The parents have settled in well in Year 6, but some are struggling with the rules. Imogen is late and sent out of class while Jenny is reluctant to take part in a dance class. Parents evening and progress reports loom.
It is the last week of term and Class 6M are packing in some last-minute revision as some of the parents start to panic about sitting their SAT exams. The real pupils prepare to leave for secondary school.
