Will Arnett is the only voice heard, providing the voices for both Bojack and Butterscotch. None of the other main characters make an appearance, although Todd and Diane are mentioned indirectly.
The first line spoken is "yeah, yeah, I see you," said by Butterscotch Horseman. The phrase "I see you" is a common occurrence and plot point for this episode.
The playwright Henrik Ibsen is a common theme in the show. Originally Beatrice told BoJack that his show "Wasn't Ibsen," then years later BoJack says this back to Beatrice in defense of his show. In this, Butterscotch tells BoJack his mother went to see "A Doll's House" and was "getting ideas." "A Doll's House" was written by Ibsen, and this probably was the point she became a fan of his work. "A Doll's House" is about a woman becoming independent from her husband.
Bojack says "Back in the 90s, I was in a very famous TV show." This is the first line of the ending theme by Grouplove.
