Like, what kids wanted from Avengers: Infinity War
malurus10 June 2018
Basically a couple minutes of Thanos being a bad guy before being taken down. Then it's all Black Panther in Wakanda. Then it becomes Infinity War again before ending on a happy note. All the children who were bawling by the end of Infinity War would probably have wanted this to happen instead. After all, Black Panther was a huge hit, so rinse and repeat only adding a tiny bit of Avengers.

Solid, somewhat wholesome, charming LEGO film
lockeralmay12 June 2018
I recently saw this airing on the Disney XD channel in the U.S., and from what I've seen, I was impressed. While the scene with Thanos as the opening villain and the newswoman making a report with the Black Panther in the beginning felt a little rushed with an off-putting pace, I found myself indulging in the scenes with Black Panther confronting Killmonger, with most of the story taking place in Wakanda. The humour was a bit wholesome, although I found the wholesomeness to be apart of its charm. I was entertained and laughing all the way through. Although, my main criticism with this special is that the scenes with the Avengers in them felt kind-of too wholesome, and I didn't find the parts of the special that took place in the city to be remarkable, just cheesy. Some of the scenes, typically ones with the Avengers in them, felt way too wholesome for my tastes. Overall, I think that this is a great example of a solid LEGO Marvel cartoon, with astonishing animation, quick and snappy editing, a pleasant tone, and a compelling narrative. I wouldn't call this one of their best, however, I do appreciate the step that LEGO is taking with their animations. This is another curve in the right direction for Disney XD, and something that's easy on the parents, and excellent for the children.

Final rating : 7.5/10 Solid, snappy, vibrant, fairly light-hearted and compelling LEGO cartoon covered in a thick layer of cheesiness.

This is just my opinion, you may judge for yourself~

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Black Panther - Trouble in Wakanda: Enough already
Platypuschow18 September 2018
Merging Lego with superheroes yay we get it, it's now been done to death and this most recent effort demonstrates that enough is most certainly enough.

After being defeated by the Avengers, Thanos teams up with Killmonger and Ulysses Klaue in a plot to take over Wakanda. Cue the Avengers again and a mindless plot.

Deviating heavily from the existing Marvel Universe but keeping the updated appearances this is one of those animations that IS aimed at the younger generation. Most of the other Lego animated films still had qualities that would appeal to parents, this doesn't.

To make matters worse this shorter than usual movie does not have the usual standard of animation. It looks more like an early 2000's video game cutscene.

One for hardcore fans and hardcore fans only

The Good:

A couple of chuckles

The Bad:

Animation isn't on point

Juvenile

Poor voice acting alongside weird accents

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

Being "Hangry" is a thing now?

Meh... I am not convinced

Warning: Spoilers
"LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Black Panther - Trouble in Wakanda" is a pretty long title for a relatively short film as this one here like most of the other Lego Animation films (unless the full features) runs for slightly over 20 minutes, so the same like a sitcome episode and the director here is Michael D. Black. Don't be fooled by the many writers as most of these are from the old days of Marvel and inventing the Avengers, including the recetly deceased Stan Lee of course. There are most of the Avengers included here, even Thor has a cameo at the end, and at the center of it all is Black panther as you can also see from the title. I wondered why because honestly early on he did not stand out and I wondered why Iron man mentions him explicitly on one occasions besides the other Avengers that he does not mention in detail in the sense of who is who. But yeah the longer the film went, the more Black Panther and it is not surprising looking how huge of a (box office) success the live action film was that Lego would be trying to cash in. By the way it felt a bit ridiculous how easy Iron Man deals with Thanos looking at the recent full feature film. Also I felt Thanos looked really powerless and not half as impressive as he should have, which may admittedly have less to do with how he looks here, but with how iconic he looks portrayed by Brolin. Overall, the story here did not feel too strong, even if it wasn't a failure. Felt a bit unrealistic that Thanos would need Killmonger and most of all Klaue to help him. Or that they would collaborate with him. Thanos sees himself as someone restoring justice, he may be an antagonist, but he is not necessarily a villain, just a very insane guy. So I don't think it makes too much sense for him to collaborate with villains. But yeah, there are other weaknesses too, some of them subjective. If you like Lego animation style more than I do, then maybe you will also like this film. Chances are better at least. There are also some animated Lego characters that you don't see too often like a rhinoceros and very briefly a polar bearf at the very end. Coompletely away from that, anybody else felt Black Panther looked a whole lot like Batman? I don't know. I give this film a thumbs-down. Watch something else instead. Even if you love the Avengers (or their recent epic battle vs Thanos because I did too), this does not mean you will appreciate this one here.

Odd continuity but enjoyable
psirista-tRM30 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Pros: Black Panther fighting along several heroes Some humor Updated looks for the characters

Cons: Thanos.. Where is his magic gauntlet? If no golden hand with stones, how is he shooting magic beams? Black widow, barely recognized her Hulk Buster armor both exceptionally powerful and one hit killed. Thanos being repowered with vibranium after initial fight..huh what? Also he seriously took that much damage? Really didn't seem like it.

Anyways if you just want a short Lego Black Panther + extras film (TV episode?) this is enjoyable. Try not to get tripped up with where it falls in any particular story line. I'd watch it again but I don't need to own it.

Great for young kids
lavorn9 June 2019
My son is too young in my opinion right now to watch the real Black Panther movie so this gave him a taste without all the adult content. It is a nice length with action and everything that holds my 4 year old's attention without him getting bored or distracted.
