A successful movie thanks to Leïla Bekhti and Edouard Baer
FrenchEddieFelson7 April 2019
A societal comedy about the French 'Black Blanc Beur' diversity, in the northern suburbs of Paris, in Bagnolet. This movie is rather successful with an ultra-strong base: the duet Leïla Bekhti and Edouard Baer. They strongly support a movie that contains both tedious parts and excellent scenes. Although the movie could have been shortened by about twenty minutes, Leïla Bekhti and Edouard Baer are a touching, accomplice and funny couple, with an anthology scene at the very beginning of the movie, in a context of a capital gain on immovable property. You might think they are together, in real life. The movie is successful thanks to them.

Irony in that most of the creative people involved in this have their kids in private school

First of all I don;p mind films that use social themes as long as they are relevant, integrated intelligently into the film; not artificially forced. This film's PC message is hamhanded, forced and anything but subtle. As some of you who follow the french media know, quite of few of the creatives in this film wagging its finger at the audience to give it a "lesson" have their own kids in the best private schools. hmmmm, hypocrisy much?
