Well done, irritating, and needed more backstory from the novella
flash-10423 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The production looks big budget, though this particular Martin story was not to my taste and (minor spoiler) didn't really make sense in the long run. But something the negative reviewers here missed in the beginning of the episode (made much clearer in the story) is that this was not a big budget government expedition, but a cut-rate expedition in a space-faring economy. So the cut-rate cut-throat crewmembers do actually make sense, as well as being necessary to blending horror with science fiction.

Humans doing a "Meet and Greet" with Alien Life?

Accuracy 5, Do not believe that in the Future anybody would use so much Resources required for a "Manned" Meet and Greet with Alien Life.

Would more than likely be a Human Appearance Artificial Intelligence "Robot", would not need oxygen, gravity, food, water, waste disposal.

Rating 7, Having seen the Original, 1987, modernization of the Ship is quite good, of course Decades from now all that will be like looking at the 1987 version today.

Holding off from an overall Review until seen all the other Episodes.

Bland horror

I tried to get through the first episode but it seems like SYFY prefers to use filthy language instead of an actual intelligence script and just about every sentence you hear. If you're a fan of the f words in the show is for you.

Not as expected

More and more series assume that people are dumb, even if there is supposed to be an elite crew or something similar. Some reviewer that says it is a budget space mission (to presumably save the world as a last measure) is obviously mistaking big (maybe dumb people likes dumb plots - just a hypotetical presumption, no offense meant). I really like George RR Martin's novels but this episode was enough for me to quit the series. I hope humanity will preserve its common sense and level of minimal logics. Even in SF series. If not, use monkeys instead (joke).
