Diane Warren may have 14 Oscar nominations behind her and one honorary little gold man already at home, but, as she says, that man “needs a buddy.” Having written songs for over 100 films in her career thus far, this year, she’s up for Best Original Song once again, with “The Fire Inside”, performed by multi-platinum, Latin Grammy-nominated singer Becky G, for the film Flamin’ Hot.
The film and the song’s music video are directed by multi-hyphenate Eva Longoria, who first broke out as an actress in the 2004 TV series Desperate Housewives. She was named Director to Watch at the Palm Springs International Film Festival last year.
The song speaks not only to the story of the film—the invention of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos—but also the drive within that pushes us to follow our dreams and go far beyond others’ expectations. All three women relate to that theme on...

Today Warner Bros. dropped the second official trailer for "King Richard," the upcoming biopic about the rise of living tennis legends, Venus and Serena Williams and the lengths their parents, namely their father Richard, went in order to foster the remarkable talent of the Williams sisters. The Odds sits alongside movies like Buried and Elevator which have a set of characters (or character) in one small setting for the entirety of the movie. In The Odds we see a man and woman sat opposite each other at a table in a small room from pretty much the first minute to the last.
I actually like these types of movies. Having that singular setting and a limited amount of characters means that the film has to rely on great performances and/or a great script if it wants to excel. The characters here are sat at the table to play a game. Well, at least one of them, the woman. She is hoping to win $1 million dollars in a pain endurance ‘game’ that is being filmed seemingly for people to put bets on.

Blondie have teamed up with Z2 comics for Against the Odds, a new graphic novel out this fall.
The novel is co-written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti — who previously relaunched the Harley Quinn series for DC Comics — and illustrated by John McCree. It chronicles the New Wave band’s rise from the downtown Manhattan clubs to stardom in the late Seventies, which Palmiotti was there to witness.
