Watched it after reading the reviews
dragonfly_18 October 2018
I wasn't going to watch this after reading the reviews. I am glad I gave it a chance. I watched the first episode not expecting much. The show has a lot of funny moments and some good casting. It grew on me during the first four episodes.

I rate it a 7 for now with the potential to hit 8 or higher as the characters develop.

My advice is watch it for yourself and make your own decision on whether this style of comedy is for you. I like the writing style and the parents, especially the mother, are hilarious. I had some random laugh out loud moments. I plan to keep watching.

The grandparents ruined what hope this show could have had. The grandmother is annoying beyond belief.

Funny & True!
sheleena-7998619 October 2018
As a mom, I laughed at all the true scenarios this woman went through as a mother, daughter and wife! These reviews with the low scores clearly don't get the comedy of it all or maybe they just don't like that she's not white. I relate to it great and had many laugh out loud moments! I love the comedic banter of her colleagues and her parents. It happens! Watch and see.... this is for us moms who have been there, done that or are still doing it! Love it...and I want more!

I feel worse
denisenekrasova24 September 2018
Horrible, terrible waste of time. Actually, worse than that. Disgusting. The 5 year old girls doing stripper dance in front of adults was not only not funny, it was borderline criminal. I already wrote to NBC. Hope they cancel it immediately.

A show to grow on!
chuguesii27 September 2018
I'm not going to lie. This show made me laugh. It made me think and at times it made me disgusted. It's kind of made me think of The "Bad Mom's" franchise. I like that she works at a video game company, so it kind of has a bit of geek to it. So that's always good for me! I'm just not sure about the main character. I know the show is called "I Feel Bad", however, I'm not sure can handle all of the complaining. But I'm going to give it a shot anyway! Maybe it will grow on me!

Embarassing TV
cockezville20 September 2018
What can I say, another miss with a ridiculous attempt to be relevant and hip. The supporting characters, all seem to be in another show. With the work crew there is no chemistry and the lead actress is too manic all the time. No thanks.

It's getting better
citymanguy17 February 2019
I know Sarayu Blue from No Tomorrow, which i think i liked a little better than this show. Sarayu Blue was a side character in No tomorrow this show she is the lead, she is entertaining. The show is predictable comedy, but has a fairly good cast. I'm not a fan of the kids (as actors) really but they could be worse i suppose. I love how shallow and plodding the mother is she is funny. I dont think the show will last long as comedy's better than this got cancelled, but i'll keep watching it as long as it's rolling.

Waste of time
rudy-bhagwandin21 September 2018
Poor acting and just overall bad all around. The plot is boring and I find the show is trying too hard to be something it's not, funny. I'd rather watch who is the boss reruns than this load of crap. I can't believe these shows make it on TV.

Love this show
jillsmith-0168714 October 2018
I have a very hard time sitting still and staying interested in something longer than 5 minutes unless it really grabs my attention. Plus I usually never try new shows, except this show. It's a show you can watch with your husband or wife and sometimes kids too, because it is hilarious and it covers a lot of topics that sometimes we as parents, have a hard time talking about or even bringing it up. This show covers a lot of those topics, but they do it in a very funny way. This is definitely a show that I hope sticks around for a while. The Mom, not the grandmother, is definitely the star of this show. She's fantastic!!!!

NBC's version of Amaerican housewife
mike-7396217 November 2018
I like it. Its a cute show. I do find American Housewife to be funnier but this show is close.

If you like american housewife give this a shot.

Not funny....didn't like it at all
Beth35929 September 2018
My son and I watched the first episode. We didn't find it funny and overall, we decided to delete it from our auto record on TIVO. I don't feel it will last past first season. Didn't feel a good vibe or chemistry from cast.

I Feel Bad Cracks Me Up
smith-8224126 October 2018
I think the key to sitcoms is giving yourself time to "know" the characters. Perhaps the subject of episode one wasn't the perfect way to start the series, but I think it has climbed in hilarity with each episode. There are so many witty one liners and funny segments in each episode. Emmet's mom is just a supporting role but she rarely utters a line that doesn't leave me laughing out loud. Seriously, watch this show, give it time, and you will love it!

not that special
SnoopyStyle28 December 2018
Emet Kamala-Sweetzer tries to have everything and feels bad when it doesn't all come together. She's the head of a bunch of game designing nerds. She has her two young kids, her Indian immigrant parents, her white husband, and her crew of nerdy game designers.

This is essentially I Don't Know How She Does It with an ethnic bent. First, it's a bad title. It puts the audience in a bad mood from the start. I don't care that it's the title of the book. Sarayu Blue is fine as the lead. The writing is nothing special despite its production pedigree. It starts bad which happens sometimes but it does get better. It has some ethnic humor but it does not get into their ethnicity. Her work family and family family are also very separate. Why not have her be the head of her own small video game company based out of her home with the nerds coming to her house? That way they can intermingle. This is fine but not that special.

I watched 3 episodes, I really thought it would get better. It was rough getting through all of them. Not funny and the Mom is super annoying. Two thumbs down!

It really sucks when we have strived for equality for all then watch a new comedy that finds it "funny" to throw in the final line of " What are we, white people? Shame, shame on you.

The pilot episode wasn't great, but each episode has gotten better and better. Lot of people one here giving 1 stars didn't give it a shot.

It could work with some retooling
jdn000021 October 2018
Potential here, just need to capitalize on what works and divest what doesn't.

The office dynamic is fun and could be developed more. I like the characters in the family but they are underutilized and overshadowed by Emit. Emit is hard to watch and her narration is grotesque. I'd prefer a Hogan Family style retooling. I would be more interested if the dad and grandparents could raise those kids and regularly visit the office bros.

It just doesn't work
arbitonandson20 September 2018
This is supposed to be a family comedy about the life of a working mum, but it doesn't come across well. The problem is her workplace.

The mum works with a bunch of geeks as a video games developer or artist. At work - she doesn't work, but spends the day getting her co-workers to help her with her family, or asking them about her life and whether they think she is doable etc !! It isn't funny and is a bit daft really because who would actually do that ? That part of the show just doesn't work with the family comedy situation which actually wasn't too bad.

If they just made the show about her work life it would be much better.

Not to mention that i am pretty sure they yellowed up / tanned the children to make them look more half indian than they really are !! Something which again doesn't work especially as the grandmother and grandfather are very pale skinned actors and actresses themselves along with the mother (who i think has also tanned up a bit for the show !).

The show just tries too hard to be the next major comedy (borrowing aspects from several other successes in the process) and fails very very dramatically !

Hilarious!!
babs_wng23 October 2018
I was so surprised by all the bad reviews. This show cracked me up!! Yes, some of the acting is a bit overboard but the script is fast and funny, also reminiscent of I love Lucy, where she is always getting in to hot water. The jokes are more on the adult side.I think this is like The Office - you either hated or loved it. For me, it's loving it!!!

Another Alex Inc attempt, will fail eventually
jazebelle22 December 2018
Honestly, it's 2018, do writers get better, or worse? How is it no one is able to come up with something more entertaining and better written than this? This series is terribly formulaic. Setting aside the interracial couple segment of the story, which I can say is the only positive and interesting point, everything else just falls flat. Main character talks to herself in her head, she's the only woman in her very modern tech company (I'm surprised the writers did not make her a journalist), comes from Indian heritage and surprise, surprise she doesn't agree with her moth 90% of the time, whilst her father is the silent character in the background - goodness ... how much more stereo typical can this get?! It's not funny either. I know sitcoms these days really want to stand out and make a difference, but I'd rather be watching reruns of The Big Bang Theory than anymore episodes of this. If Alex Inc failed, this probably will as well.

Great new show
dinalidavid21 October 2018
A little baffled by the reviews as I found the show really enjoyable and very funny. I must admit the pilot episode was a little iffy and there were some cringy moments, but it really picks up after the second episode and is hilarious by the time the 3rd and 4th episode comes around. My husband isn't a sitcom person but even he liked this one. It is extremely honest and real about marriage and parenting overall as well as within the context of a mixed-race migrant family so if you can't handle a show that doesn't paint it all in rainbows and care-bears, it's not for you. It's also great to see a show with a mixed-race cast.
