Pretty fair
tomfsloan30 October 2018
As others have said, lots of plot twists alright. Although it got to the point of being almost satirical. Portia's recap at the end was a little long. Nothing to do with the plot but take notice of the house hanging over the little cliff about half way through. It's ready to crumble into the sea any minute! Overall the movie was entertaining.

Typical Lifetime movie
dttruman23 December 2018
Your standard Lifetime movie, nothing outrageous bad or good. But what really stands out is the location shootings. High marks for that!

Warning: Spoilers
About 15 minutes in they show this very thin girl with a flat stomache get at an home sonogram that indicates a decent sized fetus and the doctor says it's a boy. We're talking Shakira in concert belly dancing moves flat stomache and there is mention she is 4 months pregnant. I. JUST. CANT. Lol

Interesting Movie
carolynkk23 December 2018
I'm about 45 minutes into the movie, but was ready to change the channel because of the constant, incessant kissing between the couple, ad nauseum, for the first half hour. Finally, the husband was kidnapped and now it's becoming interesting.

Avoid this badly written mess
phd_travel11 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A business man gets kidnaped in the Caymans. The kidnapping doesn't gel with the rest of the story. Just thrown together. The acting is bad too.

A step back for Lifetime thrillers. Better off making based on true story movies than this nonsense.

Cheap, cheesy, disjointed.
Marco_From_Tropoja3 January 2019
I'd give this one a skip. The only redeeming element is some occasional nice shots of Caribbean sea frontage. The dialogue is cheesier than a cheese board and the plot is disjointed rather than twisty although it's at all times painfully obvious. Overall the movie looks cheap at all times.

Different Fare
Ddgiler26 December 2018
Let's just say this one is different. Might not be for everyone because of the non-verbal plot twists that happen at almost every turn. But the performances and locations are really nice. Music was cool too. Kind of a very light version of a David Mamet script. Very twisty with tons of double crosses but it ended quite nicely. Recommend only if the viewer actively watches.

Not really a Lifetime Movie
hrebecca-8353430 October 2018
I felt compelled to rate this movie because I was perplexed while watching. I was expecting the typical over-the-top Lifetime movie with all the bells and whistles but that's not what was presented at all. This movie is pretty rare for Lifetime. A taut thriller with loads and loads of plot twists and turns in almost every scene. Good plotting, good scenery and good acting. Very watchable mystery/thriller. Great ending too.

Worst. Movie. Ever.
nikki-spears22 August 2021
This is the worst movie I've ever seen on Lifetime. Wow. It couldn't figure out where it was going with too many weird plots and characters. Just wow. Horrible.

Words of advice - Make sure to watch this movie all the way through. It may be confusing at times but it all pays off in the end. Really well mapped throughout the movie. We really enjoyed this one, very clever.

The Piper Must Be Paid!
lavatch17 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Much of the suspense of "Dangerous Matrimony" derives from the film's opening scene. Young Piper is working on a cruise ship hosting a private masquerade party. When she tries to refuse the advances of one of the masked men, she is thrown overboard in a scuffle, leaving behind only a necklace with a small charm. The fate of Piper, the man who was responsible, and the repercussions of that incident are the basis for the drama that follows.

A very interesting set of characters fills the screen in the events that unfold after the sad story of Piper. A young business tycoon named David Dolan pays a visit to the Cayman Islands with his pregnant wife Bridget. The couple is greeted by a friendly bellhop named Richard, who turns out to be "pirate" planning to kidnap David. But it is Bridget who is the lynchpin, who is secretly working with Richard to demand a million-dollar ransom. David's his devoted secretary Portia seeks his release through the assistance of a shady character named Mr. Vincent, who claims that he runs the island.

There is cat-and-mouse game at work with a series of double crosses involving both Portia and Bridget. By far the most intriguing character is Portia, who seems especially attracted to the necklace worn by Bridget. It will not be until the final minutes of the film that the story of the necklace is finally revealed to the audience.

Portia has a sister named Brooke, who welcomes her back to the L.A. as Portia lands with a nearly a million dollars in her luggage. The action picks up steam at the end when David returns to claim the money that Portia has stolen from him. Through the bonding of the two sisters, there ultimately will be a sense of redemption involved in the case of a young woman who was tragically lost in a masquerade.

Great Turns and twists
irenahgadecki26 October 2019
Very nicely done. Great acting, scenery, movie and ending. Felt like needs a sequel because of the unfinished business with the money. Watched it 3X for better understanding.
