Funny, biting and clever

Brilliant, biting comedy that keep generating viral media every time it aired. The fact that so many right wing snowflakes are 1 star review bombing and got it cancelled it showed just how good it was at pointing out the hypocrisy of Gammons everywhere.

Proving that political correctness, identity politics and outrage culture have rendered mainstream comedy all but impossible, The Mash Report comes across like 30 minutes of indoctrination from the Ministry of Corrective Thinking, unconvincingly masquerading behind Cheshire Cat smiles, an audience who'd laugh at a pencil rolling off a desk, and that painfully overemphasised delivery style of Radio Four comedians, that really, really, really has to let you know it's comedy, so you'll know when to laugh. The news satire presentation only compounds problems, as the smiley-faced 'Right Think' washes over you, and you find yourself pondering wistfully the biting satire of Chris Morris' The Day Today - back when comedy poked fun at the media, the elite, and the easily offended, rather than elevating them to untouchable status.

If I can't find a way to laugh at our politicians I'd have no choice but to cry. At a time when it's becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate between satire and news headlines this show is a breath of fresh air. It would be good to see both extremes of the continuum targeted more equally, but to be honest given the insane situation that we face politically in the UK right now, who can blame them for taking aim primarily at the ridiculous right ? If you were a fan of Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, then this is exactly the show you need to tide you over until he gets bored of making Black Mirror episodes.

In all honesty, my main motivation for posting this review was to counter the ludicrous 1/10 10 scores being posted by people with clearly ulterior motives.

Strictly for SJW brigade

There have been a number of satirical shows with left leanings such as Bremner Bird and Fortune, The last leg and have I got news for you etc. Whatever your political leanings these shows main criteria was to be funny. However The Mash report's priority is clearly to preach a brand of identity politics which will clearly alienate many a viewer. It is possible to have a satirical show which mocks all sides such as Spitting Image but that is not their game. They want to educate you inti their way of thinking which takes all the humour out of the show. Doubtless the identity politics brigade will love it because it reinforces their confirmation bias. But the BBC should be ashamed of this.

Satire in a world gone mad

The Mash report proved parody still has a place and jokes do need to be written. This sharp show does it rather well and has been the most promising satirical arrival on our screens in a long time.

I'm sorry but this is a massive pile of drivel. This type of shockumentary might be slightly engaging to some but I found it nauseous and completely off point but right up the pc brigades bangle. Seriously try to entertain us without patronising us within an inch of our pathetic lives. I'd rather watch Emmerdale and flipping hate Emmerdale with a passion.

Poking fun in dark times

This show seems to have triggered a lot of people and the reason thay don't find it funny...because it pokes fun at their bias, racism, xenophobia, mysoginy etc. No one likes to be laughed at I get that but if they don't find this funny which it is they need to take a long hard look at themselves. Tbf they regularly have the right wing conservative comedian on who is also very funny.

Glimpse of a dystopian future

There are some snippets of actual comedy during a few brief parody news stories delivered by deadpan anchors, but these are short-lived and lost amongst the inane drivel of the host and his cronies.

It's hard to imagine a less funny "comedy" show. Incredibly patronising, 'outrage culture', woke indoctrination. This really is like state-issued Orwellian brainwashing, packaged as entertainment. Absolutely bizarre to watch!

The format is ripped from similar US programmes, with long, preachy monologues from a host that is revered and pandered to like some kind of god. Packaged as comedy to lure in unsuspecting viewers, the programme descends into a one-man soapbox tirade of outrage and disbelief at mainstream society and politics. Fortunately, in this country, this type of programme is an anomaly rather than the norm.

Format aside, the host is slow off the mark, and has a nasal, whiny voice and a complete inability to read an autocue without making it painfully obvious.

The show has always had a left wing bias, which you were resigned to. However it has now become so far removed from an sense of proportion or normality, and has long since been funny. No programme that was even remotely as biased to right of centre politics or viewpoints would be tolerated, but I guess this programme is beyond reproach as it is considered 'woke'. The reality is whole thing is just very preachy, intolerant, and patronising. It has this warped one sided view of the world that clings to the delusion that their view on everything is correct and any other is racist, intolerant etc. It is a very Guardian mindset, which seems to be its main source for any of their claims. But it is a very narrow and prejudiced view of the World, and not very thoughtful or intelligent, or funny.

Seriously, avoid at all costs. Non-stop left wing extremism from start to finish - the worst thing I've seen on TV in a long, long time.

...that is of course unless you happen to be Owen Jones, then you'll love it. But I'm not, and neither are 65 million other people in the UK.

So feel free to watch it if you happen to be Mr Jones, but I'd rather jump from the top of the Empire State Building, catch my eyelid on a nail on the way down and land on a truck full of Indian Nail Beds than sit through even 5 minutes of this drivel.

How the BBC justifies funding this rubbish should beyond me...

In principle I agree with the politics of the show but it's just not funny. This is toothless satire. The Day Today and Brass Eye puts this to shame. Hell, any satire puts this to shame - liberal enough for people to nod in agreement but nowhere near biting enough to actually challenge the status quo, just confirm it.

How has the institution that gave us great, politically neutral and genuinely funny panel shows such as Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You come to this?

I cancelled my TV licence 6 months ago and will NEVER pay it again.

So the show is unable to find anything funny in the feminist movement, remainers, being woke, being politically correct, the democrats, extinction rebellion. they seem like a goldmine of material. It's all so depressingly predictable, going after the usual suspects, isn't edgy or clever. attacks older white people for bringing up the blitz all the time telling them they didn't experience it. then attacks the same people for the evils of colonialism. You can't have it both ways Nish. The end result of living in an echo chamber of like minded people. And we saw an example of just how "gifted" Nish is when he ventured outside the bubble he lives in when he visited the Lord Taverners club to perform. It must have come as a shock to realize without canned laughter he really isn't that funny I remember when comedy mocked everyone, now the BBC use it as a vehicle to peddle their narrow PC narrative. and it is why the BBC is losing license fee payers hand over fist. You have to ask yourself, when will they actually notice.

So biased, smug and oh, so not funny. I notice we have the usual aggressive remainer reviewing on here. They'll do anything to subvert democracy. Shows like this only strengthen the Brexit resolve. We aren't idiots. We knew what we were voting for and a blatant show like this won't change a thing. This show is like a fight with only one person fighting. Nish Kumar..... ridiculous laugh ... and that's it.
