A woman investigated her mother's murder and uncovers a mysterious birth certificate. This is a rather slow moving movie that plods along nicely if you like slow moving movies. I have no complaints about the actors other than they are all so solemn and drab. Officer Sanchez is as good as asleep. Why does Sonya look like she's wearing a wig? When she parks at the detectives office building, she gets the front spot. But in the next scene it is a no parking zone. This happens twice.
The climactic ending is rather dull too. This movie is really not that bad, just slow. But it's a very nice movie if you need to go to sleep.

Why the atrocious dime store wig???

This is a slow-moving convoluted adoption mystery movie where the lead actress wears a cheap plastic-looking horrible wig throughout the entire thing. The wig looks like dark yet shiny plastic on her head and it's so cheap-looking that it's distracting from trying to concentrate on the dull storyline, which is as follows:
It starts out with a woman murdered in a dark parking garage, whose daughter finds a birth certificate in her home. When she looks up the baby's name on the internet, she sees articles from 20+ years ago stating the baby was kidnapped from a church. She hires a private detective who specializes in finding lost persons, and of course they fall in love while they work on the mystery of the kidnapped baby. And of course the kidnapped baby turns out to be the murdered woman's daughter, which she discovers when their DNA is a 100% match.
That instantly implies that it was the murdered woman who kidnapped the baby from the church over two decades ago, but the wig-wearer insists her 'mother' was a decent christian woman and would never dream of doing such a thing. Meanwhile, a few murders/deaths take place, the adoption lawyer skips town, and the adopted son of the rich married couple who are also the parents of the kidnapped baby begins to look increasingly guilty.
But then the adopted son's mother is suspected by the P.I. as being the guilty one, and it's all revealed in the usual violent, twisty Lifetime-type climactic ending.
Note: this movie had an underlying religious theme that was completely unnecessary and annoying.
Final conclusion: I'd like those 2 hours of my life back.

Sonia Daniels must have one of the most complex ancestries of anyone on the planet. This taut drama unfolds the secrets of her legacy and how as an infant she was handed off like a football from parent to church to nanny to adoption lawyer to new parents. It is up to Sonia and her handsome private investigator to track her DNA and learn the true story of birthright.
