Poor screenplay

Warning: Spoilers
This story had a great potential to make a special war movie but poor screenplay literally destroys the movie. Dialogues are so crude. It's not like the actors are in the war, it's like they are having a typical daily conversation.

There were also some major flaws with editing, visual and sound effects but I don't know their budget and I don't know if Iran's movie industry have the appropriate tools for that.

I guess Iran's government funded this movie because it was very biased toward their side. For example, the presence of teenagers in the war is obviously a crime but the movie is trying to somehow justify it and imply that no one wants that. Iran had a lot of teenagers in the war and their government could control it if they really wanted to control it. So, Iran please stop justifying your terrible decision.

I think the movie by itself is one of the worst war movies I have ever seen. However, I'm giving it 5 stars to respect those teenagers who fought in this war. There's no right or wrong side in wars and I see both parties guilty but you cannot blame those teenagers who fought for their country and family.

Respect...

War between Iran and Iraq
RosaGreen555 January 2019
8 years war between Iran and Iraq from 1980. This film is just a short tragedy of the war that 2 countries faced and you fill it better if you lived on war time. Your eyes are full of tears when you leave the cinema hall and when you remember the oppressed and innocent soldiers. Pray for peace and no more war in the world.

a sorrowful accomplishment

Bahram Tavakoli paints celluloid with the colours of despair and misery to highlight the ever-resilient Iranian soldiers. Focusing more on the daily struggle of a group of soldiers, we follow the very last days of the Iran- Iraq war. Using professional actors, Tavakoli finds a dynamic realism in how the soldiers project their real life experience to the fictional narrative and it's his skill as a visual and poetic filmmaker that enables viewer to form a powerful response to the grim material.
