In 2016 Writer/Producer Russell Meyers of Great British Entertainment mentioned the idea of Falkland Square as told to him by his retired RAF father. There are many veteran soldiers who suffer from PTSD and this film shows the battle faced by one such veteran.
The film was shot in 26 days in Portsmouth, Shropshire and London.
The original draft screenplay was 285 pages long and involved a different ending. The final screenplay was reduced to under 90 pages.
Because of Covid, post-production was put on hold for nearly 18 months.
Actor Cameron Jack was originally cast to play the role of Malcky. Three days before principal photography was due to start Cameron dropped out due to other commitments. Kevin Horsham was cast at the last minute and had his audition on one of the film sets.
