Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Netflix has taken in for development an untitled drama from former A Million Little Things showrunner Terrence Coli, Rabbi and author Steve Leder and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Deadline has learned.

Written by Coli, the untitled project is described as a spiritual procedural about a group of ancient humans who’ve been sent back to Earth with a Heavenly mission: to bring hope to those struggling in their darkest hour and healing to our fractured world.

As you might expect from the billing, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio — which had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival today — is a very different beast to the 1940 Disney animation, and just as cavalier with the picaresque elements of Carlo Collodi’s 1883 novel. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are taking on the British monarchy in a newly released trailer for Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, the third installment in Lifetime’s movie trilogy about the royal couple.

Premiering Monday, Sept. 6 at 8/7c, the film “explores what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry (played by The Punisher‘s Jordan Dean) and Meghan (She’s Gotta Have It‘s Sydney Morton) to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie,” per the official synopsis.

The drama network’s latest installment in the Harry & Meghan television movie franchise will premiere Monday, September 6 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be played by Jordan Dean and Sydney Morton.

Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace rehashes what drove Harry (Dean) and Meghan (Morton) away from the palace to to make a future for themselves and their son Archie. The movie will detail Meghan’s growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that “The Firm” was not defending them against the press’s attacks and Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that may have contributed to his mother’s untimely death.

Lifetime has filled its title roles for Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace. Jordan Dean (The Punisher) and Sydney Morton (She’s Gotta Have It) will star as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the third installment of the Harry & Megan film franchise. The best days are definitely behind for Grey's Anatomy.

The once-hot medical drama has been suffering a ratings decline in its latest season, which could be attributed to the dark storylines at the wheel of the series.

Grey's Anatomy Season 17 Episode 9 had 4.88 million viewers and a 0.9 rating.

The total viewer tally marks the lowest numbers yet for the show, while the demo number matches last week's low.

Station 19 drew 5 million viewers and a 0.7 rating -- on par with its most recent episodes.

A Million Little Things closed off the night for ABC with 3.1 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.

The series is moving to its old timeslot to be replaced by Rebel, giving Krista Vernoff a full-night of programming on the network.

Given the trajectory of the ratings for Grey's, it will hardly be a solid launching pad for the show.

Lifetime is expanding its Harry & Meghan Creative Universe to air a third movie about the embattled royal couple.

In the wake of Oprah Winfrey’s blockbuster interview with the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Lifetime has greenlighted “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” which promises to “reveal what ultimately lead to the couple’s break from the royal family.”

The new film is the follow-up to Lifetime’s 2018 entry “Harry & Meghan,” which chronicled the newlyweds’ love story, and 2019’s “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal,” which looked at their experiences inside the Royal Family during their first year of marriage.

Lifetime is now billing the three movies as their “Harry & Meghan” movie franchise trilogy. Casting is currently underway for the “Escaping the Palace,” and production will begin this spring, with an airdate eyed for fall.

A+E Networks says there is plenty of content in its production pipeline.

The company will renew its successful “Live Pd” franchise for an additional 160 episodes on A&e, while launching a live showcase led by comedian Jeff Foxworthy and a series featuring WWE wrestlers tracking the professional-wrestling organization’s memorabilia – a sign that many TV companies will likely rely on reality programming in weeks ahead as production is crimped by the coronavirus pandemic. How We Sleep at Night: The Sara Cunningham Story is one of a number of original television movies for the A+E Networks brand, which also includes a third movie about Harry & Meghan, a holiday movie with Betty White, and another project with journalist Robin Roberts.

The ReFrame Stamp was created by ReFrame, a coalition of industry professionals founded by Women in Film and the Sundance Institute, to recognize projects that have demonstrated success in gender-balanced hiring. Productions that receive the stamp are those that hire female-identifying people in four out of eight critical areas of production, including writing, directing, showrunning, producing, lead acting roles, season regular acting roles, department heads and crew members. A+E Networks has secured a raft of new sales deals for its TV movie “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance,” the global media company announced Monday, just days ahead of the royal wedding. More than 30 broadcasters around the world have now acquired the two-hour movie.

Lifetime has taken rights in the U.K., Canada, South Korea, Israel, Poland and South Africa. A+E has also secured U.S. distribution with Afrts.

In Europe, new deals have been signed with M6 in France, RTL2 in Germany and Rti Mediaset in Italy, as well as in a number of smaller territories. These include Sbs and Vijf (Belgium), Sbs (Netherlands), TV2 (Norway), Sic (Portugal), Romanian Television (Romania), Joj Plus (Slovakia), Pop TV (Slovenia), Mesimvria (Cyprus), Star (Greece), Rtl (Croatia), Etv (Estonia) and Modern Time Group (Latvia). Admittedly, information on historical figures can’t necessarily be spoiled in the traditional sense when it comes to movies and TV. On Thursday, the network announced its latest slate of actors who will portray the royal family in its forthcoming TV movie, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s romance.

Australian actor Burgess Abernethy will portray Prince William while Singapore-born, Vancouver-native Laura Mitchell will play Kate Middleton.
