Funny and Watchable
Kavikulaguru14 February 2018
One of the better Rom Coms to come out of India. It has a breezy feel and the lead pair is very believable. The actress, Angira Dhar deserves a special mention - not only is she easy on the eyes but she gets the diction of the Bombay Catholics right. The supporting cast (like the Pathak sisters) is filled with excellent character actors and most of them could play these roles in their sleep. Most rom coms have predictable endings, so a special mention to the writer and director who keep the viewer engaged through funny dialogues and a largely even pace. Speaking of pace, the movie could have been chopped though and seemed a little stretched toward the end. And most viewers will be able to see the twist from a mile away. It's a minor quibble, though - it largely an enjoyable movie. Look out for a cameo from an A-lister at the end.

Bollywood should learn something from this.
Divine_Dev29 April 2018
Typical Bollywood film makers who makes typical/ordinary movies should learn something from this and here's why:

  • Anyone can relate to this movie, especially here in India as it deals with the most common problems we middle class Indians have to face.
  • It makes sense and it connects with you.
  • No forced humor. comedy in this film is a plus point. It's natural and will make you laugh.
  • You wont get bored at any given point in this movie. It will keep you hooked.
  • Strong and natural performances by all the actors and the direction is also done very well.

Yes, the movie is quite lengthy but the story is quite simple, the characters are relatable, the romance is cute, and the movie is worth watching.

It's a fun, lightweight rom-com With Enough Humour to Make you Laugh.
sid630715 February 2018
Definitely one of the most unique and sweet romcoms in India recently. It's Cliched at Some Points But Also The Direction Feels Really Fresh. Angira Dhar And Vicky kaushal makes a Great Pair And Chemistry they share is Great. This Movie Tries To avoid Bollywood's Cliches And Suceeds Mostly With Few Misses Somewhere Between. The Supporting Cast Is Amazing and Pathak Sisters are Amazing together in the scenes they share. There's a twist in the End which is fairly Predictable But it's Hardly an issue, although It seemed a little too stretched toward the climax. All in All,it's really enjoyable and a fairly Entertaining Movie Which Leaves you with a Smile In The End. Also, There's a Surprise Cameo in the End From a Fan Favorite Bollywood Star.

A Breezy Watch!
namashi_125 July 2018
Having lived in Mumbai for many years now, its relatable for me to connect with 'Love Per Square Foot'. Mumbai is an expensive metropolis, where every moment is either a way to make fast cash or a missed opportunity. In this fun & breezy Rom-Com, Director Anand Tiwari delivers a story on young people trying to be independent and achieve what most Mumbaikars can't afford for themselves -- a home owned by them!

'Love Per Square Foot' Synopsis: Individually, Sanjay and Karina don't earn enough to be able to buy a home, so they enter into a marriage of convenience.

'Love Per Square Foot' is a cute film, that has its heart at the right place. Having said that, the Writing isn't always engaging. Tiwari & Sumeet Vyas's Screenplay gives some interesting characters, but the story flows in a slow manner & never reaches a pinnacle in terms of Writing. Its a simple story, told with a subtle attitude & for the most of it, it works. BUT, the Writing doesn't go beyond its premise & that at times, hampers its impact overall. The Dialogue, however, are natural to the core. Tiwari's Direction is good & the man captures Mumbai with love. Cinematography & Editing are standard. Sohail Sen & Anand Bajpai's Score is average.

Performance-Wise: Vicky Kaushal wins you over with a delightful act. The supremely talented actor portrays his part with effortless ease. Angira Dhar is also a welcome new addition to the Hindi Film Industry. The actress is confident & charming. Alankrita Sahai is feisty. Kunaal Roy Kapur is as usual. Ratna Pathak Shah & Supriya Pathak are simply outstanding, yet again. Ratna is flawless as Angira's moody Christian Mother, while Supriya plays the Hindu Maa to perfection. Raghubir Yadav is efficient, as always. Arunoday Singh is adequate. Gajraj Rao is superb. Brijendra Kala is fantastic in a brief role.

On the whole, 'Love Per Square Foot' is a breezy, undemanding watch.

I'm not the greatest lover of movies with sub-titles and I had second thoughts when this one started. Thank goodness I stuck with it, I was hooked within 5 minutes. The actors although ridiculously good looking, are perfect, every scene seemed to make me smile or laugh and there is a delight of some sort in every frame. Fibrant, colourful and the song sub-titles are hilarious. Personal favourites of mine were the pick-pocketing scene, the dust ceiling scene, the brilliant chicken dance and the vibrating phone scene. The problems of cross religion relationships was tackled, but all in all, this was a tip-top feel good movie. My quote of the movie "You disapproved his loan, but I guess you've approved the guy" Would have made a great tag-line.

Vicky Kaushal; PURE TALENT
noonoonomore4 September 2018
This is one of the cutest Bollywood movies I have ever seen. The story is entertaining, music is good, characters are engaging, but apart from all of these great features, Vicky Kaushal is the one who blew my mind. He is to become one of the greatest Bollywood actors. I just couldn't believe this goofy and sweet boy is the same as that sadist from Raman Raghav 2.0. He effortlessly portraits any role he's given, and I really hope to see more and more of him in the future.

The execution is amazing- Nice Rom-com
ajit21062 April 2018
"Love Per Square Foot" helmed by Anand Tiwari, a man who wore several hats actor, director, writer, casting director, assistant director etc.

"Love Per Square Foot" is rom-com genre with a slightly different execution. It has a realistic feel, the screenplay is more relatable than our typical Bollywood romantic flicks.

It perfectly articulates the covet of youth to find their dream house in the megacity "Mumbai".

What works wonder here is the amazing cast and their effortless acting, it definitely brings the grins to our faces with the quirky lines and funny situations.

The movie is predictable yet enjoyable. It is a charming flick which must be watched for its wonderful cast and good direction.

However, the runtime should have been a little less, some editing was required as it drags a bit in the middle.

www-bithey11 September 2018
To be honest, I liked the story of this movie. Casting crew was perfect! I love the chemistry between hero and heroin. But last few minutes were boring because of over acting and over drama..!

Such a clichéd movie, and anybody would guess the movie's ending from the first scene. I admire Vicky Kaushal(thus the one extra star), but this movie was one of his weakest work. The climax scene was one of the worst climaxes I've ever seen(not just including movies).

Great-ish. definitely good.
asliyaseminbahar10 March 2018
The acting, the visuals/cinematography, the style, the comedy. It's there. BUT I think around the middle they took the script to somewhere where it did not need to go. Conflict could have been created some other way. The plot twist kind of thing thing that happened at the birthday did not suit the innocent tone of the film. The main character felt too much of a villain to root for in the second half until the end. And it was not necessary in my opinion. We're already tired of the Hollywood movies that do this. To be fair this movie is mostly positive and a joy to watch as well. It also recovered somehow through the end. Sort of. It if was executed slightly better maybe it would have. I'm glad I watched it but sometimes it felt like the envisioned visual did not exactly come through - which is okay because it is really difficult, and more importantly it got shaky in the middle for sure.

Capsule Review: Love Per Square Foot
nairtejas24 June 2018
When you have such a great cast giving their 100%, you are bound to end up creating a lovely film. Anand Tiwari's Love Per Square Foot is such a film that is so tasty and relatable, it has all the ingredients to entice and entertain you. Vicky Kaushal, in his career best performance, and debutante Angira Dhar play two young people looking to buy their own flat in Mumbai. So when an offer that would help them do that without much financial burden comes their way, they brush as acquaintances and then to lovers. Lover Per Square Foot is about their romance and struggle to buy a property in the satellite city, their attempt to maintain romance despite being an inter-regional couple, their ups and downs in life as independent participants in a relationship. And it works wonders. I am massively surprised to learn that Tiwari has impressive direction skills, which enables him to bring out the best in his lead stars and supporting actors like Ratna Pathak Shah, Surpriya Pathak Kapur, and Raghubir Yadav just to name a few. Apart from the brilliant performances, there are a lot of small things that you will enjoy watching in the film that has been written in a politically correct manner whose only aim is to entertain. Although the plot sways to cliched territory towards the end, there is freshness in Tiwari's execution. It's a palpable love story that aims at highlighting the pains and fun of middle-class lifestyle, which comes to the fore through the fantabulous dialogues written by Sumeet Vyas. Everyone involved in making Love Per Square Foot should get together and rejoice for they have made a film that is funny, relevant, and important. It impressed me and made me laugh a lot. TN.

dinkarinjosh22 September 2018
The characters were totally in-sync with the plot . Appreciate these kind of low budget movies dealing with real life issues than high budget non sense plot with expensive actors and beautiful locations. A good watch

So Simple Yet So Beautiful
OnjiMooteDaMarle27 January 2019
From Acting to Writing, Direction to Music everything was to the point. Such a simple story, it's all in the trailer except for some minor moments and the climax. It was heart warming and a such a family film (minus a scene or two).

Watch it, no matter how, but watch it.

New age romantic love story. Awesome!!
jaypathak_watcher16 April 2018
This movie has all the content which new young generation needs. Powerful dialogues, real world struggle, love story, good music, awesome acting, some laughable funny scenes. But don't watch with Parents if they feel offended with kiss or curse words.

The movie has realistic view for love story. Protagonist is struggling like we all young generation are struggling. This reality touch is special thing for me. Thank you Anand Tiwari. Great work.

You probably need Netflix to watch the movie. Maybe Netflix is little costly. But still this movie deserves to be watched.

Similar movies recommendation if you like to watch : TVF permanent roommate, 500 days of summer, MP3 .
