The way it ended, suggests that there should be one more season... At least... Why cancel such a good show?

Suspenseful and incredible season finale, making us wanting more
Holt3447 May 2019
A satisfying conclusion to this season's story arc with superb and suspenseful fight sequences which is the season's best, the flow with the character's skills and unique techniques makes it even more interesting to watch. The writing and directing for this episode was also great, the actors did amazing job as well. They created a magnificent ending to an excellent show that will hopefully get picked up once again in the near future as they have more ideas, ideas that will possibly be interesting and great.

The overall season have in my opinion been a great one with fresh storylines and a well executed civil war and the second half had a war against the Dark Ones and the Pilgrim. He was actually a good villain, starting off being actually on the good side but turning even more powerful and evil from it, great writing and was rightfully cast as Babou Ceesay played him fantastically. The whole ensemble cast and set of characters is what truly makes this a great show and season.

The end of one of the most underrated TV shows in TV history!
Serenity30008 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I discovered Into The Badlands by accident. The show premiered after The Walking Dead and I couldn't stop watching. I ended up loving Badlands MORE than my long time show TWD. Action pack and great storytelling. What more do you want from a tv show?

Just one more season. I wish there was one more season of Into the Badlands because I would love to see the life after Pilgrim madness. I would love to see the Widow as a real MOTHER together with her love Gaius. The Widow, the woman who was abused by the husband she killed, found love and happiness again. I would love to Sunny rebirth and taking on the gun with his bare hands. I would love to see Tilda reunite with Odessa. Four seasons is all fans wanted, but AMC shut the show down. The Ratings? I have no clue why it ended, but the fact remains, it shouldn't be over. Not yet.

There were so many great things about Into the Badlands, that the fans didn't notice any of their flaws. If the show had any, I didn't notice them. Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar sure knew how to develop and write great characters. They knew how to write great female characters in particular. The writing was awesome and simply great storytelling and character development. The Widow was my favorite. There is nothing more liberating than watching an intelligent, strong, and fierce female lead character. Thanks to much to the mostly male writers for recognizing the power in women. Tilda and Lydia were also strong female characters that fans rooted for. Which brings me to my second favorite, The Master. The Master was simply badass to the core, mysterious, and the best fighter on the show until she met her match with Pilgrim (He cheated...fake dark one power that he wasn't born with). I hope to see the super gorgeous and super talented actresses Emily Beecham and Chipo Chung again on other projects real soon. Getting to the final episode...Overall completely satisfied and a little sad that it is all over. The only gripe that I have with the final episode is that Nathaniel didn't get to kill the witch Creesida. Which brings me back to the show needing one more season. Creesida lives with the crazy dark eyed white boy with a gun. So much story left in the cliffhanger. Happy MK died. He was such a whiny brat after the first season. Who didn't love the Widow seeking parental advice from Sunny? The Widow for three seasons has been so emotion free, tough, and hiding her true feelings finally showed some vulnerability and yes love to the ones she cared about like Tilda and Gaius. Bajie, stepping up to take care of Henry was priceless. Nick Frost was the scene stealing on the show. I can't say enough how great Babou Ceesay was as the villain Pilgrim. I can go on and on about this wonderful show and the wonderfully talented cast. It was an ending worth waiting a year for...so good, that the audience want more.

Way Too Good a Series to just End Here!
skip-9875610 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Holy Cow, what a series! its set to continue ,it Needs to continue, its a freakin crime if it doesnt get picked up by a network with more sense than amc..Very Bad choice amc, you certainly Are Not listening to ur subscribers! This show is so stellar on so many levels and so groundbreaking and original that it breaks my heart that of ALL the crap out there that continues on and on, they pull the rug out from under one of their best...Spoiler alert: I am so glad the widow got to have her powers back! she has changed so much from what he was into the much more feeling and heart centered person she became in the end...she was now ready to hold and unleash the force that the master had held back from her for so long...And Man, what a sight that was! "i want You to feel MY pain!" gave me chills!..I really thought sunny was going to go dark eyed as well, but they set that up for a future season,if only some one with Foresight would pick it up, they would have a massive following..I too ,wanted moon to get cressida after what she did, and that needs to play out in the series...pilgrim, well, that dude Nailed the maniacal messiah gone dark side to a T! both him and cressida were a perfection match of seer and messiah!....then , there was the Master! she and the widow being my favorites of the show.. what a force of nature she was! almost unstoppable, fearless, absolutely calm and composed in the face of Anyone and capable not only of fighting on a level that could match anyone on the show, she also had access to the Force and had the wisdom to contain its power without it consuming her mind.. and when she unleashed that force, she absolutely overwhelmed Anyone in her path, including pilgrim, who was cowering in her grasp... he only survived becuz mk literally stabbed her in the back... God, i Love this show! can u tell?! Bring it Back, ill sigh any petition for it to continue!

Season Three Review
southdavid12 July 2021
One of the best aspects about the first season of "Into The Badlands" was that it didn't outstay its welcome. Six episodes established its campy world and told us which characters to care about going forward. The second season expanded to ten and though the fight scenes remained wonderfully well done, the plot revolved, with alliances formed and broken over and over. The third season is 16 episodes .. so doubles the length of the overall show and it suffers again because of those issues.

Bajie's (Nick Frost) message has been heard and a new faction led by the enigmatic Pilgrim (Babou Ceesay) comes to the Badlands. With a mastery over the dark power, Pilgrim looks to "free" the land, but his view of freedom is at odds with other factions and he's very willing to set loose his disciples to force his will. Sunny (Daniel Wu) returns to the Badlands also to find help for his son, who is already showing signs of the dark power. His return soon has him embroiled in the power struggles again though.

I suppose this sounds counter intuitive, but just to repeat the thoughts I've had since the end of the first season. I'd like this show at lot more, if there was less of it. With this many episodes to do, the plot does just go around and around, with people forming alliances and breaking them, people's priorities shifting and then shifting back. I can only assume that the two part extra long season, rather than two regular sized seasons, must have had something to do with contractual issues, particularly as it transpired that this was the shows finale.

There are still really strong fight scenes across this run, imagery that you don't see anywhere else, even in other shows set in the apocalypse, and Nick Frost is always good value whenever his character appears. It's just all in service of a storyline that gotten increasingly repetitive as the shows run on.

Decent, but I'm pretty happy I don't have to watch any more of it.

Series finale?
ultimatedan215 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I think this is an underrated show as many have stated but would have like to see a more closed conclusion where nothing was left opened ended as it was. Maybe produce two-three episodes or an two hour finale to wrap everything up. It can't go out like this.

Lousy Ending
tarnishedhalotx29 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Wanted the show saved, hopefully picked up by Netflix or Hulu, until the end of the final episode & now I'm glad it got cancelled. Killing off Lydia was bad enough, but the Master's designation of an inanimate object being 'a far greater evil' than a madman who called himself a god & went around with his minions slaughtering anyone who disagreed with him was maddening. Unless an object is supernaturally cursed *heavy sarcasm*, inanimate objects are not evil, the only evil they do is done by the humans using them.

One of the BEST show on AMC
Thompcece132919 July 2020
There is no way you cancel this show. This show was so good it made Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon look sick. This show so good in my opinion it's better than The Walking Dead. Please Please bring this show back for at least one more season so we can see what happen to Sonny and his baby boy. This was not a good way of ending the show.

So much potential!
realdypierre15 May 2019
Where's the love? This is where Into the Badlands suffered and could of never retained The Walking Dead's fanbase. Having it aired right after the hit show with an arsenal of captivating trailers was an effective strategy. Nevertheless, in a post apocalyptic world, we need main characters to connect and sparks to fly. Sunny loses his girlfriend and his left with a baby before we get anchored into the characters, the widow starts an ackward relationship with Gaius (I had to search his name) who we didn't even trust before the last 4 episodes. Lydia and Nathaniel blossom way too late and died way too fast. Noticed how I didn't mention M.K? That's because the show litterally took him from the front of the class and slid him all the way to the back with the bad kids who can only come second to the bully (Pilgrim). The young bumbling apprentice with a grade school crush for Tilda during the first season, became a dark, miserable sidekick to Pilgrim. If a do over or re-vamp is a possibility, work on the love.

The Last season is so amazing, the fights, the character arcs, the scenary are so freaking amazing. It will always be a mystery to me on why this show was cancelled but at least we have this masterpiece of a final season.

Dang its over?
garabedian12314 March 2022
Season 3 was 2 seasons long so 4 seasons. As good as it was I do not think i would have liked a 5th season if it was going to be about guns. How many laughed their butts off when that muddy dirty 500 year old gun actually fires?

And how would finding one gun change anything? I mean they do have metal workers..good ones. But still.

Why did we never get to see Sunny in action
corey-hawn5 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Why did we never get to see Sunny in action? The teasers for an entire season that Sunny is the most powerful of them all but yet he doesn't ever get to use his power. This alone wouldn't be too difficult to swallow, but then we get a taste of the widow and her powers. At that point I am screaming why the heck do we not get to see just how amazing son his powers are when the widows were so impressive. Everything else was perfect, but that really eat me up especially knowing that the show is canceled. Probably the most disappointed in the last three episodes I have ever been with any show ever because of the fact sunny never showed us what was up.

Love the series but this was crap
illuminatilights0128 May 2019
You can basically mark when the writers were told they weren't being renewed by how horrible the writing and fight chorography became. This was not at all satisfying for an ending. We've seen better fights from Sonny in early seasons. Also, sucks that people didn't watch this show. This was a good story
