Letterman and Stern what could go wrong?

I am a huge fan of David Letterman and Howard Stern so this was really cool to watch. I am happy Letterman decided to do this show for Netflix after he left CBS. Howard seemed a little censored because he has full reign to say and do whatever he wants to but Letterman seemed less censored on Netflix than he was on CBS. I loved watching this. David Letterman's Netflix show is great.

Like Coloring Inside The Lines

Howard Stern and David Letterman ... This should have been fun ... But both were very careful not to go outside the lines.

I came for the first person accounts of Stern and Letterman's experiences with, or thoughts about Donald Trump. They mentioned him, cautiously, and then switched tracks so fast that I couldn't help but wonder if the tape was spliced. I'm betting it was. And what a shame, because that would have made for some juicy entertainment! I am extremely disappointed in them for dropping the ball on that front. I mean, if you're not gonna go there, then don't even bring him up.

You have two personalities here who are very similar in a myriad of ways. They are both known for their egos, outspokenness, and outrageous antics in the pursuit of ratings. They also suffered from, and compensated for low self-esteem by using anger and provocation in their broadcasting careers. In this interview, Stern played offense, but only sparingly, and probably just for the sake of being true to his professional persona. Letterman was a bit more diplomatic, but his thin skin was showing. (Imagine a couple of rams pushing on each other's horns and going nowhere.)

I have always enjoyed Letterman and Stern for their chutzpah, and seeing them together is certainly worth a look-see ... but all in all, I found this interview too safe to be fun and too anemic to be memorable.

Howard Stern better than...

Long time fan, but he came and said this would be better than a dignified President Mr Obama. Instead all I heard was repetitive stories.

Thought it would be more controversial.

Episode started out really good and funny. Interesting stories about his childhood and the beginning of his career. However it never really delved into any interesting stories or subjects deemed controversial. They did however start to talk about Trump and how Stern thought of him as a friend and being honest as a guest. But then Dave as he's done in previous episodes mocked Trump, but then clearly Netflix or the production has cut out Sterns answers/ comments about Trump. As it appears he was defending Trump. And when I mean defending him, I mean saying positive things about him, and the good things he done as president. And calling out the lies and out of context stories etc the main stream media and social media put out about him. As they clearly had an agenda against him. Stern and even Dave himself said in the episode how people loved to see Trump and always wanted him as a guest on their show etc.
